Good location, nice staff, clean amanaties

Although the pub crawls and tours are nice. They are the same every day and don't change anything up

Everything was good. Breakfast and basement sining area were nice. Staff was so friendly! Loves the atmosphere. The location was perfect! The roof top was great!

One roommate was sick and coughed all night. I know that there is nothing that could done.

This is probably the best hostel I've stayed in it didn't even feel like a hostel. It's so close to everything that I hardly needed to use public transport, everything was very clean and well maintained, the staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast was great! Even though it's in a very central location there wasn't much street noise at all. Room was spacious and comfortable and the rooftop bar was stunning

It's so minor but the kitchen could be better equipped however I can't really fault anything at all.

Great central location to everything you need (restaurants, bars, supermarkets all minutes from the door), super clean bathrooms and rooms, two pillows (so nice!), curtains on beds, lovely balcony off room

I had a lovely stay here! The hostel is clean, comfortable, and in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. There are some activities available if you’d like to join, but it’s also a good place to relax and enjoy the city at your own pace.

I loved everything about it! The location, the staff, the people who stayed there, the activities and that is safe. I’m always scared of staying in hostels with other people, but this was the nicest and safest hostel I ever stayed at. Also Javi was AMAZING!!!!! He made sure I was always comfortable and super helpful. I got pick pocketed in the bus from the airport and he showed me where to go to the police and everything. He is the best! Also I loved the activities they do where I met incredible people. I did the walking tour, the sangria class and the bar night out. Everything was worth it I even forgot about my bad experience arriving to Madrid. Also you can lock your stuff in the room and it’s super safe. It’s close to everything in downtown so I visited everything walking.

Location and comfort of beds

It was my first time visiting Spain. I had the best experience for my first time staying in a hostel. Staff was super helpful and gave great recommendations as to where to eat in a budget.

The location is perfect. Everyday you’ll get to pass Plaza Mayour and Puerto del sol. And you got the shower and toilet inside the dormitory itself.

It is loud up to almost 12 midnight and the whole day.

Great location and clean facilities. Front desk staff were amazing. The roof top bar/restaurant is great. Female dorm ensuites were clean and good size.

The noise from the rooftop bar travels down into all the dorms, however this is generally expected from hostels and the noise level was not terrible.

Everything! If you are a hostel person. This how all hostels should be. Cool facilities and customer service, perfect to meet people, good beer at the bar.

Rooms on basement were a little dark

Perfect location, room of four was clean

The bunk beds are very noisy for lower beds. Also it would be helpful to implement a quite area for remote workers as the hostel is pretty noisy everywhere

The bathroom was so small, and each floor only had two for females and two for males. Without the hook, I cannot hang my clothes inside the tub room but hang across the top of the door. The water has to keep pressing the button to let it come out... That wasn't a very friendly way, plus the light automatically shut off too quickly; I had not even finished peeing yet, already gone dark. 30 sec? I don't know maybe this is the hostel rule to save the electricity? The walking tour is suck, I understand that it is outsourced to an outside tour, but please don't use them anymore. Any travellers have seen this message; that's a dozen free walking tours outside, so don't waste your time with the one hostel. The Sangria workshop wasn't great; I assumed to learn how to make it instead of straightaway competition, but by the end of the workshop, I still didn't know how to make it and don't know what should be the authentic one. I wasted my time on this and that free tour.

Reasonable selection of food and good quantities. Pretty good value

Limited kitchen facilities and our presence was excluded once for some other booking / occasion or event.

Excellent location a stone's throw from Plaza de España. Nice terrace. A good varied breakfast available at additional cost.

Cool interior, nice rooftop, spacious and bright rooms. Staff were great and super helpful! No real kitchen but still able to worm up good in the microwave and toaster so if you're aware there's no kitchen there's no problem at all.

The beds are a bit squeeky when someone's shuffling around in the bed. The sink and bathroom inside the dorm makes it quite noisy.

Better ventillation in sleeping quarters, it gets pretty stuffy sometimes.

The Location is amazing.

I stayed at the HAT and found it to be in a great location. The Wi-Fi was good, and the room, though small, was clean and comfortable. I didn't try the breakfast. Overall, a convenient and clean place to stay in Madrid

The hostel is amazing, you have all you need and the staff is so nice. The location is perfect, in the heart of Madrid, actually, next to Plaza Mayor. I strongly recommend this hostel. I would certainly come back again.

I think for the value of money, it is worth it. The location is the best, the rooftop bar is great in terms of view and the drinks you can order, the vibe of the rooftop bar is great. The bathroom is clean, the room is clean with great facilities. So yea, good facilities!

It is amazing place , I really feel like home , location is prefect , most of the staff is very nice , room is very big and so clean , sharing space is cool , I could prepare my coffee downstairs also and some people prepare their food ,Their breakfast is good , they provide iron machine and table also if you need it .

Sometimes guests didnt deal with sharing bathroom properly and didnt flush it and let it stuck by tissues , I hope if there is more choices of food for people from middle east at breakfast "This is not criticism just give advice to improve your excellent services ", for sure I would like to stay there again .

top beds have zero privacy - people on all bunks can see each other because the curtains are too short. the curtains also do not cover the whole length of the bed

The team was amazing ❤️ we see that they love what they do and that shows how they receveid and take care of their hosts ! The breakfast was super good and the atmosphere of the hostel is perfect to anyone who wants to feel confortable, cared and secure !

The staff is really friendly and kind, the room was clean. Make sure you have a drink on the terrace.

Wish we could've stayed longer, but we were in transit to the airport. Will definitely return to The Hat next time. Super convenient location in nice barrio. Excellent breakfast option! Appreciate the privacy curtains for lower bunks.

The hostel was very clean, with extremely nice stuff and very comfortable beds. We went on the Sangria Workshop and the Pubcrawl of the Hostel and it was super fun, we had a great night and perfect stay.

Front desk: day shift Rene and night shift Lucas are the best, they are so nice to every customer, and very patient with us, they go extra steps to help us, take care all our travel problems, we really do appreciate their service, because of their outstanding hospitality, I recommend all my friends to stay here when they come to Madrid.

Pretty clean, big lockers that fit the luggage and the location was amazing. Also recommend the walking tour.

I arrived at 10 am after a transoceanic flight and they let me have my bed ahead of check-in time which was so nice. One morning I woke up at 4 am got dressed headed to the lobby and the 24 reception was glad to make me a hot Americano and I had an extra-creative morning of writing. They distributed the guests throughout the rooms, so I had the room to myself 2 out of 5 nights.

I had to use my key card to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. The rooftop is a bar and restaurant without a view. The seating for breakfast with everyone on bar stools and ledges with their backs to one another was not conducive to socializing

Great location, staff were excellent and was great value for money. Staff even upgraded my room free of charge and kindly let me store my luggage for an extra period of time
