Hostal Central Palace, Madrid

Location, staff and views were spectacular. The views out across to the palace were wonderful and the room a great place to relax after exploring the wonderful surrounds.

Unfortunately the wireless was pretty much unusable in our room. The staff tried to sort it out but with no luck.

Room was cold. 18 Celsius was the thermostat. Furniture was uncomfortable.

Outstanding client service from Alina

Exceptional location. We were always so close during our visit to the main attractions that we could always go in and out of the hotel if we needed to leave or grab something. The staff was very friendly and gave us reliable and useful informations. The room was big and clean. Totally recomand it.

We stayed in this hotel during our 2017 trip to Spain, and it was our favorite hotel of that trip. I was excited to be able to return now and stay in a beautiful room with that fantastic view of the royal palace out the balcony! The staff are exceptionally kind & hospitable!

There’s a regular key for the room that locks and unlocks the door. We kept it in the door when we were in the room - just in case we would need to leave quickly.

The bathroom didn't have ventilation and it was an unpleasant smell.

Unique, beautiful space. Incredible customer service. The hotel went above and beyond to give me detailed instructions for getting to the hotel, and then when I arrived the front desk attendant saw me stop at the outside entrance and came out to greet me and walk me up to the lobby. They were available for any questions or help I needed, and were really kind and welcoming.

This place is a rare find. We have stayed here before. Best location in Madrid -- your window looks out at the King's palace! The staff is super well informed and very helpful. It is in a very old building and each room is different but the ones we are familiar with are all good. Several of them are suites but they do not describe them as such so you may be pleasantly surprised to find out how spacious your room is. It is relatively small hotel without a lobby but who needs a lobby when you will probably be walking around enjoying this great city anyway.

I have been staying at central palace regularly and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful, specially their receptionist.

The location, condition and view of the room was really convenient. The staff were super helpful, specially Alina, she helped us through every step of the trip.

The internet connection could be better.

The view was amazing, Ellie on reception was a darling and very helpful. The setting is stunning and very close to Opera Metro 3 mins, and Sol metro ( 10 mins)

The directions / instructions needed more information. " Once you arrive outside the cafe Oriente, facing the cafe, the entrance is behind the large black door to the left. Press the door bell on the left to be given entry. Please take the lift to the first floor to book in at reception" . It was not clear exactly where the entrance was or which door bell to use as I only saw the panel on the right with 6 buttons and had to take my cases into the cafe to ask how to gain entrance into the hotel. Of all things the toilet paper was very cheap and poor quality.

Upgrade to room with roof terrace was lovely surprise!

Was very clean and staff were super friendly and helpful when needed.

Shower drain being a bit blocked and water goes down slowly, and the shower knob was not there which made it difficult to switch between hand held shower and overhead shower head, these did not really have a big impact on the stay and is still a really great hotel. Just really small details which make little to no difference to the quality of the stay.

A little difficult to find and the taxi had an issue. However very helpful on our arrival and location excellent.

With cases stairs a little difficult but porter on duty was excellent. He should be told this by yourselves.
