Creaking floorboards!

Glorious place to stay. It's so convenient for the main sites but the best thing is the view from the bedroom is spectacular. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Comfortable bed, good shower, maid service each morning with clean towels. Perfect spot for our three night stay.

Everything was perfect for us. However, there are about three steps before you reach the lift so not ideal for those people with serious mobility problems. ( Reception is on the first floor).

The shower coils have been hotter The windows overlooking the square were dirty and were not designed to open. This was a shame when the view was so gorgeous

The people that work here are helpful, kind, informative, attentive and have your best interests at heart. I made sure to carry their business card with me because I knew if anything happened to me I would reach out to them and know they would do what they could to help.

The weather

Beautiful large clean room (Premium Double Room with City View, top floor). Location was perfect. We will definitely recommend and hopefully be returning. The extra treats are very appreciated. There is a small lift.

Perfect location very good service you live in front of the palace and the space behind the window pedestrian so it’s very quiet at night

I've stayed at this hotel last year too, so I knew what to expect. As a bonus, this year I tried their breakfast in collaboration with Cafe Orient which is located in the same building. The price is 10 Euro at the reception or 16 Euro at the restaurant. Worth every penny.

Location is perfect. So many of the places to see in Madrid are walkable from the hostal. There always seems to be something interesting going on in the Plaza de Oriente. And the view of Royal Palace is superb. Now, it is a hostal (with private room/bathroom), so it is not what I would consider a fancy room. But it is clean with plenty of space. And the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Central Palace Madrid is very close to the everything from metro station to the city centre. The place is situated in a quiet neighbourhood but very close to busy areas such as restaurants and shopping centre. The staff were very nice and accommodating and will give recommendations of the legit restaurants where the local eat and drink. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quite big for a european standard accomodation. All in all I would rate Hostal Central Palace 9.5 out of 10 as they really effort with even small touches like welcome red wine and champagne.

The shower water pressure was great with rainfall shower but at times does not retain the water temperature (maybe coz the rainfall shower is too big?)

We loved everything! We had a great view of the palace and the room is beautiful and clean. The little treats left for us were well appreciated.

The location is fantastic we were happily upgraded to a room with views of the palace. It was beautifully decorated and the bed was comfortable with good quality bedding. The staff were lovely and helpful.

The staff were very welcoming on arrival with the room a good size. Given complimentary bottles of water and wine. The property is in a great location in the centre of Madrid opposite the palace. Although we had no view I believe some of the rooms overlook the palace. We were on 3rd floor but had no issues with a working lift. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The vew from my windows was amazing.The hotel is infront of the royal palace and a few meters away from metro station Opera. The room was really big.

maybe, and this is very personal, was to hot inside the room to sleep. (outside was 2 degree) but i dont live to sleep so hot, so i turned on the AC.

I absolutely love the staff, every time I stay here they greet me like a friend. The location is ideal, the rooms are beautiful, so many welcoming touches. I look forward to each visit.

Comfortable and so much character - beautiful floors and cozy room. The host was so warm and kind and really made the stay so lovely. She made us feel right at home in every way. Incredible service. Location was excellent and in the center of everything. Great for walking through the entire city.

Well located hotel in quiet area dispite nearby castle visitors. We had spatious apartment on the upper floor, antique furnishing brings special flavour. We used the opportunity of using vouchers for the breakfast in nearby restaurant and we strongly reccomend it to visitors. Welcoming, friendly and supportive staff.

Hotel with centrally located across the street from the Royal Palace in retored building. When we were there you could purchase breakfast vouchers for a very elegant breakfast next door for 10-Euros per person which was a great value.

The room was really fabulous; lots of wood giving it a cosy atmosphere; interesting the way the lights were placed; all in all a perfect place indeed

...the wooden floor was creaking when walking on it in certain places; one could hear people walking next to or above our room; small inconveniences considering how well we felt being in it

Best hotel in town. I had 40m2 room at top floor and facing inner yard. Warm, quiet, neat and very spacious. Nice breakfast at Café de Oriente Palacio Real next door was 10e for hotel guests.

Nice room with a view of the royal palace. location very central. Most attractions can be reached by foot, and when tired there is always an underground station closely.

It has to be stated that this is a hostel i.e. they do not provide food. However, the iconic restaurant on the ground floor of the building provides a very good breakfast for a nice price for people staying in the hostel. For other meals Madrid offers whatever one would wish.

Fantastic view of the palace and courtyard. Beautiful space with restaurants just outside the door. Very quiet despite the central location. Beds were super comfortable and the room was most spacious. We enjoyed the coffee/tea and chocolates that were in our room each day. The welcome Champagne was a very nice touch also. Staff upgraded our room from inside room to a room with a view! This place was above our expectations.

Bucket list location and view, without having to spend your life saving! I had a room on the exterior third floor, with an unobstructed view of the Royal Palace, across the Plaza de Oriente! The room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with just the right mix of modern amenities (hot shower with good water pressure, heating),, minimalist neutral furnishings & old-world charm (high ceilings and chandeliers).. I sat in front of the floor to ceiling balcony windows to watch the sunset over the palace while sipping the complimentary bubbly and coffee that came with the room. The room and bathroom were sparkling clean. Staff were friendly and helped me carry my luggage down the steps between the building lobby and the elevator. I'll be back!

Really can't think anything.... maybe for the extreme light sleepers during high season, you might occasionally hear footsteps above - it's an old building. I am a light sleeper and did not hear any noise that disturb my sleep.

excellent location ,wonderful helpful staff, no restaurant or bar but small fridge in room with half bottle of fizz. very close to metro tube station.lots of bars and restaurants very close including right outside the hotel.

We had an interior room which was ok but had no windows and no view .Slightly depressing and if stay there again would certainly want a room with a view. Otherwise room was fine.

Very central location only a stone throw away from the Royal Palace and the Opera, but nevertheless quiet. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The lift was a bit decrepit. Reception inaccessible if you have mobility issues.
