Hostal Central Palace, Madrid

The room was just as described. It was clean and comfortable and the hotel was well located. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The mattress was a little firm but I got used to it after one night.

This place was beautiful! The location could not have been better as plenty of food shopping and sightseeing were just quick walks in any direction. The building is beautiful! I was in an internal room but there was plenty of light AND it was on the top floor and absolutely huge! Really really loved it here

Unfortunately my AC was not working so I spent my first night trying to deal with all of that. The desk staff here are fantastic! The next day I told Alina and she was very surprised, said I had the most reliable AC! She wasted no time in contacting someone and providing me a fan. Now THAT is customer service!

Great location. Size of room was nice. We had one with a balcony overlooking the square.

Rooms could use some updates. Hair dryers are terrible. It would be nice to have 2 luggage racks in the room.

Loved our room and especially the location. Well organised and clean and in the centre of Madrid. We enjoyed our walks close to the property, you could reach any store near it.

Excellent location near the Central Palace and the opera house. Clean, spacious room and great staff! I was offered a map of the area and asked if I had any questions when I arrived. As with a lot of these old buildings in the city center, the bathroom was on the small side. No complaints, but just a heads up for future travellers!

The location is always the main bonus, then there is the absolutely best staff, the beautiful rooms and cleanliness. Anything I need, the staff is always helpful from holding my luggage to calling taxis. It is my favorite place to stay in Madrid.

Great location, and we had a breathtaking view of the Palace. The breakfast downstairs is lovely and very worth the discounted price. The hotel desk attendants were all very kind and helpful, and treated us like family. Highly recommend this accommodation.

The Central Palace Hotel is a charming old building, right by the Palace and Opera, within easy walking of all major attractions. The views from our balcony were stunning. Staff are friendly and welcoming. It made for a delightful break.

Fabulous location, staff and ambience

Our room was very spacious and clean. The staff was absolutely amazing, so helpful.

Tiny elevator so had to go up a lot of stairs if there were a lot of people trying to use it. We had a premium suite on the top with castle view but couldn’t really see the castle because windows were small and dirty. Floors creaked a lot so felt bad for room below us when we would get back late or get up early.

Beautiful room and view with a great location across from the Palace! Loved that there was an affordable breakfast downstairs and an elevator to our rooms. Alina at the front desk is so nice, welcoming and helpful!!

It was a great location in a very pretty part of Madrid. The main parts of the old city were easily accessible by metro and on foot. There were excellent restaurants all around. I recommend the breakfast vouchers for the associated restaurant downstairs.

The rooms was a bit small but that is be expected given the location.

The room was a really spacious size and had a perfect outlook over the gardens towards the palace. It was well located with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. You could walk everywhere from this hotel and I really liked the fact is was not in a hugely busy area. As a single female traveller I felt safe and really enjoyed my stay at this property.

We had a wonderful view of the Royal Palace. Breakfasts were offered for a reasonable price at the next door cafe. The room was comfortable and roomy.

The staff was so helpful! They arranged our taxi to the airport at 4AM! The location is absolutely perfect and our room was huge!

First of all, the staff (sorry forgot her name) literally came out on the street to guide us to hostal. The view from the room was the greatest I have ever experienced.

Amazing location, the view from the room was stunning. The staff is so helpful and friendly. We could check in early which was a life saver after our long flight… we would come back!

There is a good amount of noise outside, so if you are a light sleeper that could be an issue.

This room is wow. I did not expect to stay in such an amazing place. We stayed in Mid August and the price of this room was so cheap, I think other times it is a lot more expensive. But wow I loved this place, it was grand and I would find myself staring outside the window and watching everyone go past. The square itself is very nice and makes the whole area very quiet with just the sounds of people. The location is amazing as well, so close to everything in Madrid by walking.

We got woken up one of the days in the morning around 8am because the restaurant downstairs were dragging all their chairs around. Not sure why this particular morning, because the next morning it wasn't an issue.

Excellent location and view - we had the room with the rooftop balcony overlooking the square and palace; parking is easy under the square with an exit next to the hotel entrance.

The charm of an old palace decor that is not overly done Location was excellent across the gardens of the Madrid Royal Palace and at waking distance of central Madrid attractions. Receptionist was very helpful and polite

We chose a room without a street view and we were happy with our choice. Big room (apartment size) with living & dining areas as well as a separate bedroom. Nice area to walk around. Close to the Palace and Opera metro. Complimentary wine was a lovely touch. Staff very friendly. Room was quiet.

The location is ideal. In front of a beautiful park, with an open-air restaurant in front, without traffic coming through. A couple of blocks from the Royal Palace.

Easier access to the first floor to reach the elevator to the reception. Pulling luggage up a few steps is challenging for older guests.

OMG!!! I cannot say enough about this property! If you have the opportunity to stay here please make the effort. The location is amazing facing the Royal Palace. It is within walking distance of most all of Madrid Old Town sites like Plaza de Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado de San Miguuel, El Rastro (on Sundays), Gran Via. All within 15 minutes or less walking! Go the extra mile( another 15 minutes walking) and you are in El Retiro park! The rooms in this Hostal are extremely large and beautifully furnished. All the rooms have a luxurious bathroom and at least one TV with free wi-fi and a wonderful guest basket which included champagne, wine, coffee, and tea. Definitely on par with some of the nicest full hotels in Madrid but at the price of a 4 star Hostal.

Maybe better parking in the immediate vecinity but even that wasn't such an issue. Great place and hard to find something bad here.

Our favorite location in Madrid. Chill and lovely to walk around. Gorgeous views of the palace from our top floor terrace. Charming traditional decor reflecting the regal area. Coffees and wine welcome was lovely! Wonderful, helpful staff. Good breakfast with couple. Large, lovely bathroom. Good AC.
