Pousada de Colôane, Macau

Breakfast is good, the room is clean, and the pool also stunning view. They are very nice to communicate with guests. They hired a taxi early morning at 5:30 AM, for both of us. My friend checked out early morning, and I checked out at 12 pm. This hotel is my favorite hotel in Macau.

Just a bit far away, and I don’t know how to get to the short cut unless I ask for the staff first. The breakfast is just average.

The breakfast was very good - enough products to choose from. The room was very comfortable and very good value for money. I was by myself in the room although there were two beds. The air-conditioning was very effective. The pool I didn't use as I don't swim these days but it looked clean and inviting

Nothing really much. The young girl on reception did not speak/understand English very well but the men who seemed to probably be the owners had very good English.

The hotel is pretty. The room price is attractive including breakfast. The room was nicely designed but a bit shabby. There are four buses running nearby (15, 21A, 26A, N3) but the guests still need to move the luggage up and down the slope and/or the stairs unless arrive by a taxi or self-driving. Reception located on 3/F next to the restaurant, no elevator in this hotel, guests have to climb up and down to access the rooms and the restaurant. If travelling with seniors need to note this point. Buffet breakfast supplies by the restaurants every morning from 8-10. Very nice restaurant and staff. The food provided were simple but nice enough and tasty. It’s really close to the beach, guests can swim in the hotel’s pool or the beach, very convenient.

I sent a message asked for an upper floor room while booking, they allocated a room for us at the lower floor. This hotel is two stories building, upper floor means room at 2/F, but our room was assigned at 1/F. When we checked-in, there are plenty of rooms not yet checked-in located on the 2/F but the front desk staff rejected to change for us. There are big trees in front of our balcony, actually we could not see the beach much. The leather of the only chair in the room were broken seriously. The only desk in the room was quite small, only one bed-side table. Not enough desk surface for two guests to share. Hotel may consider to subscribe some more tv channels cause its location is quite far away from the city center, lack of entertainment besides swimming.

View was spectacular, staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is great!

Make sure to take a taxi when going to the hotel. We thought we could take a bus since it's not that far, but it is not really ideal if you have several luggages and 4-year-old child.

I really like the swimming pool and the breakfast.

Water will leak out from the bathtub easily. It is because the shower curtain is too short. The entrance and exit of the hotel are not obvious. No directions where to entry the hotel at night. The doors were locked when we come back. No bells to contact staffs there. Luckily we still can find the car road to come back. The staffs should remind us about this, if not it is very inconvenient for guests. No facial tissue will be provided in the room.

The surroundings, the area away from the hustle & bustle, the view. Restaraunt food I found delicious as well.

Some mornings people made noise down on the beach as I am a light sleeper. But this is out of the accomodations control……….i understand this.

Location is a bit far from the center, nearest bus stop is walking distance, have to climb uphill and walk downhill. No lift for persons with mobility restrictions. Taxis would be a good option for mobility.

Shame that the pool was closed for maintenance during the stay. Bathroom could also have done with a better shower facility (with shower curtain or something) as water sprayed everywhere

The staff were absolutely amazing. At this point I had been travelling for 7 weeks nonstop and had stayed at about 20 different places. This hotel had the nicest, most friendly, most helpful staff i had or ever had encountered. Every single one of them that I met, from the front desk, to the restaurant to the cleaning staff, all of them treated me like a most special friend. It was wonderful! The hotel is clean and well appointed but a little old not that that worried me too much it was a comfortable cool place to sleep in the humidity of Macau. The restaurant there had some of the best food I had ever tried. The chicken stew was divine.

It's not that this was such a bad thing, it was just my least favourite thing and that was that it is on the side of a cliff basically. Great views but an effort to get around. No interaction lifts, its only 2 floors of rooms and then the reception is on the rooftop so if stairs are an issue make sure you ask for a room that you can get to without stairs.

The hotel has a passageway for people arriving by public transportation that allows you to get from the bus stop directly to the reception. This makes it extremely convenient because there is a bus stop right at the end of the passageway with buses passing by at all hours of the day. The room I was given is extremely spacious and had a balcony with a direct view to the beach, and a bathtub. The rural location of the hotel is very quiet and has a low light (compared to Taipa and other areas in Macau) which means at night you could rest and hear the waves at the beach. Very enjoyable experience.

I felt the furniture could be more room size appropriate, the desk in the room could be bigger for example. I barely had any space on the desk for my computer and had no where to put the hotel given amenities that were on top of the desk (boiler, tea cups, wine glasses, and other things)

Very nice, close to the beach and nature, reachable by car and public transport.

Unfortunately the walls are very thin and sometimes they were noises waking you up.

The pousada itself is a lovely place. The room was large, quiet, and cosy, with seaview. The pool was a real plus for the children. The staff was very friendly. The location is easily reached by bus who connects to the centre of Macau.

The shower door let the water leak, so we had to be careful when showering to close the door carefully.

Corridors behind the rooms on Level 1 were a little fusty and smelled of mold, but the weather is very humid at present. There was no smell in the room as it had air con.

Iuri and the team made our stay a real pleasure. Lovely hotel, close to the beach and great restaurants. East bus ride to the casinos if that's your thing.

Property charged me double of the normal one night charge.

I’ve traveled a lot in my life, but this hotel truly had the kindest and most attentive staff I’ve ever experienced. While the building itself has a bit of age—like much in Macau—it is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The location is fantastic, right next to a calm little beach with a great Italian restaurant just around the corner. Coloane Village is only a 10-minute walk away, and getting to downtown Macau is just a short car ride. There’s also a bus stop nearby that connects you to the rest of the city easily. The rooms were charming, with lovely sea views, and the pool area felt like a lush, tropical escape—a true zen haven, especially in contrast to the hustle and bustle of downtown Macau. Food and drinks were excellent, with cocktails prepared with noticeable care and attention to detail. What stood out to me as well was how the receptionists gave thoughtful recommendations for places to see and restaurants to visit, and responded to any request with warmth and professionalism. It really impressed me how many languages the staff spoke—from Cantonese, Mandarin, and English to Portuguese—which made everything so smooth and welcoming. The only small recommendation I would make is to consider adding a few more sun loungers by the pool. This is definitely my favorite hotel in Macau, and I will absolutely be back.

We enjoyed a great breakfast on the hotel's sunny terrace, with sea views across the bay. Rooms were light and spacious, also with nice sea view balconies. Very good bus service into Coloane town / Taipa, just a short (but steep) walk up to the main road from the hotel

The atmosphere surrounding by nature and good people most staff there are Filipinos from the restaurant to housekeeping most all of them are Filipinos that was awesome and I love the most.

Lovely old hotel with lots of quaint touches, great views and friendly staff. Dinner was good, also possible to walk to Fernando's, which is recommended. Not as remote as some other reviews suggest, it is straightforward to get to/from the city by bus, and when we called a taxi to get to the ferry terminal it was no problem. Definitely a great pick if you want some peace away from the bus city or casino strip.

Hot water wasn't quite hot enough. It's a bit noisy (plumbing etc) but it's an old hotel so you need to make some allowances!

There was some water leaking in the bathroom, but rest of all are perfect .

We had a great stay in the hotel. Excellent location (less than 10mins walk to the bus stop), beautiful Seaview from the balcony. The breakfast was tasty. The staff were friendly too.

There is no lift facility in the hotel.

Extremely friendly staff, super attentive to requests and always welcoming and smiling. The restaurant is unbelievable. The food was outstanding!

It is a very minor detail but unfortunately there was a wedding happening which is fine however they didn’t mention the restaurant wasn’t available. Being the location the hotel is in, planning ahead for dinner is needed and would have helped.

This hotel offers an interesting experience while staying in Coloane, amazing natural views, an interesting experience when hearing the sound of birds chirping in the morning, delicious breakfast and very friendly staff.

It takes a struggle to come to this hotel with a big suitcase and using a public bus.

The staff were delightful, friendly and helpful. The cute pool was lovely. The breakfast was fine. No buffet as it was mid-week, off season and not many guests. But they provided a nice a la carte alternative - free of charge. We also enjoyed a very tasty dinner with truly enormous portions- so be warned! The room was clean and comfy with a lovely little balcony overlooking the beach just a few steps away down the hill. The spacious, bathroom had a big tub and a shower. Internet was fast.

To be honest, not much. It is really a lovely little place. Some of the taxi drivers don't know the English name of the place. Just ask for Cheuk Wan Jow Deem and you should be OK.

Great location and easy to walk to the coastal path to hac sa beach. Buses are really frequent and easy to use. The pool area is lovely but the real selling point is the sea view from every room. You can hear nothing but the waves from your balcony and it's a very relaxing place yo be, especially compared to other areas of Macau. A taxi from the old town was around 150 (£15) and similar to the port area. Great service on the front desk, too.

The rooms are a little dated but that adds to the charm!

Stunning Portuguese designs & feel throughout the hotel. A very idyllic & peaceful getaway from the Casino Developments of Macau which aided to a very relaxing stay! Dinner was absolutely delicious! I am still dreaming about it now! Iuri was incredibly helpful & kind to assist with a request prior to our arrival and helped to make our stay really special for us - he was also onsite during our stay and made sure we were happy! :)

Upset that we couldn’t stay longer as we were tempted to extend our stay due to how relaxed we were and how friendly & accommodating all their staff were

Perfect hotel for a relaxing retreat surrounded by nature - super close to the beach. We had food at the restaurant and it was lovely, with big portions too. We also asked for room service for dinner and staff was super nice and careful about our needs. We didn't try the pool as we preferred going to the beach during our short stay, however, the pool looked very clean and well kept. As for breakfast, it was quite abundant, the only thing I would have liked, maybe some more options for people that prefer a sweet breakfast over a savoury one. Still delicious though! The highlights were definitely the room, how spacious it was and the balcony, and the position, away from the hustle and bustle of the city-centre.

The hotel is stunning, with gorgeous tiling and fixtures - these beautiful surroundings allow you to relax even more!

We were under the impression that each room has a hot tub but instead ours only had a bath tub - which wasn’t too much of an issue, but would be helpful to clarify on the listing.
