Great place, excellent location and a staff beyond compare!
Beach Front with a rustic atmosphere-escape the day-to-day hustle & bustle. Staff very attentive & helpful. Valet parking was great! Room was perfect with ocean view; easy walk to shops & restaurants. Check-in was a breeze...Oh yaeh, the margaritas were the best!!!
Room service menu selections. Having to use my phone to see any kind of menu was a pain (especially with the pop-ups)., but even then the selections were very limited. Thermostat did not work until the morning we checked out.

Price was very high for the room, the parking was not included and in LA valet is a must.

The friendly service from all staff from the moment we arrived. The tidy and clean rooms with exceptional amenities of modern holiday accommodation. We enjoyed it much more being our choice of accommodation for our honeymoon. It didn't disappoint. We will be back with Shutters being our #1 pick of accommodation in LA/Santa Monica.

Lovely high end hotel in Santa Monica
Prime location, superb staff and customer service. Upmarket hotel with great vibe - good place to unwind at the end of a California road trip.
Coast restaurant busy so long wait times for table but all staff encounters excellent. Somewhat overpriced compared to other 5* international hotels but this is California!

If you love the ocean, beautiful accommodations, and outstanding service, Shutters is for you!
The hotel itself is beautiful and the location couldn't be better -- you truly are right at the beach! I had an ocean view room with a balcony and each morning I woke up to the awe-inspiring view of the Pacific Ocean. Cracking open the sliding doors even an inch and I was greeted with the mesmerizing sound of the waves. And as fabulous as the setting is, the staff is equally magnificent! Each person I interacted with went above and beyond to make sure my stay was the best it could be, and it was that and so much more. They made me feel like a VIP! And if I hadn't experienced all of the above, I would go back just for their ice cream sundae and their pineapple coconut smoothie!

overall very nice stay. We were there hosting a wedding for our daughter so engaged all services
exceptional property and service was more than I expected. Room was outfitted with everything we could have wanted.
Only one suggestion, upon being taken to our room, the bellman should have done a better job explaining the use of the safe, the working of the TV and certainly should have fetched us ice. I had inquired as to where the ice machine was and he replied that there were no ice machines on the property, but that it we wanted we could have gone to the bar or the pool to get some. For travelers who had just spent 6 hours in flight to get there he should have picked up on that and just made the effort to get us some ice...that was my only complaint of the service...anticipate the needs fully.

Nice place in Santa Monica but not super relaxing.
Great service, restaurants, and comfortable rooms. Room was really big and hotel staff all really helpful. Free bikes, nice pool.
Location a bit hit and miss. Our room had a sea view but also looked over a parking lot with a bright streetlamp shining through the shutters.

the breakfast place struggled to know what to do when a power cut struck (it seemed almost impossible even to get a croissant!) but that is surely a freak occurrence (and was district-wide).
