Staff extremely helpful and welcoming Location of train stations

Rather pricey but convenient for leaving very early morning for Eurostar

Location was excellent for what I needed. Room was OK, had the minimum needed for my stay.

Like most hotels in the area, price was expensive due to it being London Marathon weekend

The overall decor and ambiance. The food and drinks were delicious. Welcoming check-in experience.

The room and bathroom itself were too simple. Wish more effort was put into the decor and feel of the room.

Location. Handy for St Pancras International for onward travel. A little luxury to start our trip.

the bar is impressive even with 7 broken ribs, a newly plated collarbone and repaired punctured/collapsed lung. we had to return home overland from Switzerland due to a slight ski accident so the proximity of the Hotel to the railway platform was great. the complimentary Prosecco at reception was very welcome

the room could have been bigger although i was taking so many pain killers i didn't really know where i was.

Access to the Chambers Cub, ease of getting to the Eurostar check in, close by Coal Drop Yard for eating and shopping

Took £100 deposit from credit card on arrival. Toilet flush worked but was broken from wall fitting. Breakfast £60 extra on top of £360 room cost.

I was sure I had booked a room with two beds but was told on arrival that there wasn’t any rooms like that available. I would not have booked if I realised my daughter and I would have to share a room.

The breakfast in the booking office was very good. The building is gorgeous and so was the room. We came down from Leeds and the train comes in to Kings Cross so it was a great location for us.

The hotel says it is part of the pledge of reducing food waste however offer a cold and hot dish. The cold dish of homemade Granola was massive given it was a part of a larger breakfast offering. This led to my partner only having a few mouthfuls as she wanted to enjoy her warm breakfast. I did not like the buffet breakfast and was surprised this was offered as a good thing to those it paid for more expensive rooms. I prefer table service. Trying to figure out the lights in the room and finding out you cannot have the bathroom lights on without some of the room lights on unless you have the sequence correct. The pillows were to thin for my liking and there was nothing to suggest I could have a choice of different pillows.

Prices were excessive plus the 20% VAT & 12.5% service charges on top - offered nuts as snacks with a bar drink and then billed $8GBP for them in addition - easily blew $50GBP with 2 nightcaps. Better to eat offsite - club sandwich was uninspired & cold

You have retained the character of the building

The Hansom is a little lacking in atmosphere. We had booked dinner there but changed to the Booking Office which was excellent. A mention to your Front of House that night - Monday 17 February. A lovely young lady who went out of her way to accommodate us, we had a guest in a wheelchair and she and the waitress could not have been more helpful

It was a beautiful building, great decor, check in was excellent.

This isn’t necessarily criticism but I just felt there wasn’t enough attention to detail at the property which let it down the waiting staff at breakfast were very poor and slow.

The hotel itself is magnificently beautiful. The building is amazing and fun to walk around in and explore.

There were some moths in our room, and the rooms don't really match up to the opulence and Victorian charm of the hotel itself. They're just kitted out like a regular corporate hotel chain.

Room was fairly basic for the price but lovely all the same, fully equipped and clean, good size.

The greeting at reception was great and the lady that handled our check in very professional and helpful. It was my wife's 60th birthday and when we got to our room there was a wonderful cake on a marble slab with Happy birthday along with a bottle of sparkling wine in ice. Very nice touch. The room was excellent, outstanding finishes, comfortable bed and it was great to be able to stay in this great building. Breakfast was one of the best selections I have had and I tried new dishes which were excellent, again with very attentative staff. Thank you for making this a wonderful stay for us.

the common areas (lobby, restaurants and bars) were beautiful and with an amazing vibe!

The room could have been a little bit more updated and we have requested a high floor but were put on a 3rd floor with a view to an internal hall but will totally repeat my experience in this hotel!

The wow factor

Confusing breakfast as not a buffet option and staff seem to struggle if ordering off menu (beans on toast!). Standard hotel rooms with nothing special to justify the prices.

Your Food and Beverage manager was outstanding. I had a poor service experience with dinner and I just left and ate at an outside restaurant. He noticed I left and apologized, Invited me to join him for lunch the following day which I did. The food and hospitality was fabulous.

The power went out in my room so I was unable to charge my devices. I contacted reception and was told I would have to wait until the following morning when engineering was back. This was unacceptable so I went to reception and asked for someone to reset my power breaker. 30 minutes later someone came past and did just that and all was good.

The building was magnificent. The Gothic bar was very lovely, with great staff and food. Spacious bedroom and well-appointed bathroom. Lovely amazing large windows. Concierge Gordon was brilliant.

Nowhere to lounge as such. Our bedroom was spacious, but only had one armchair. Lovely bathroom, but tired around the edges. So did the bedroom, which had frayed carpets, scuffed walls and black marks on the bottom part of the bed. Christmas food at the Hansom was disappointingly poor. Breakfast was not impressive.

The lobby and restaurant were fabulous and we enjoyed a lovely New Year’s Eve meal. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Breakfast was a little underwhelming with cold scrambled eggs sent back. The rooms are particularly ordinary, tired and outdated and are not befitting a hotel of this calibre or the hefty price.

The location is great and the hotel is beautiful.

The breakfast was particularly poor Previous years it has been a wholesome buffet style offering with cooked food to order This year no buffet. The toast/bread was low cost type and the scrambled eggs were sloppy slush Very disappointed

The breakfast on our first day was cold, there was no condiments on the table, no small spoon given with the hot drinks, this is our second stay over the last few years and it seems its attention to detail is some what lacking. For the money I paid I expected better attention to detail
