Pestana Palace Hotel, Lisbon

Stunning turn of the century house with elegant interior furnishings. The gardens were filled with unusual trees and flowers. While very formal the staff were always polite, helpful and friendly.

The room was rather warm.

The hotel itself is very opulent and historic including the main dining room where breakfast is served and where we had supper one evening. Food is excellent but a little pricy - we had breakfast included in our room rate and it really was excellent with a la carte options and an opulent buffet with sparking wine if you wanted it. Even though the hotel has hosted many celebrities the staff are very personable and friendly. Sadly the weather was very rainy during our stay so we couldn’t make the most of our stay (gorgeous gardens and pool) but we were still glad we stayed there. There is a free shuttle some days to go either to Belém or central Lisbon which was a bonus - we had a fabulous meal at SUD Restaurant overlooking the bridge which the concierge recommended

Take your own teabags if you love tea like I do. Tea in general in Portugal is really bad 😂

It was a very interesting experience to stay in such a hotel. The hotel has a very interesting history, cozy hotel, pleasant staff, beautiful garden, swimming pool and spa area 👍😊

Everything was good…a small improvement could be made regarding the takeaway breakfasts, for those with an early flight, hotel of this class should have a good selection of breakfasts for such cases, there was a limited selection on the small desk close to the reception 😒

Was hoping the outdoor pool would have been open. But I guess too early in the year and a bit too cold!

Superb experience in every way, professional and kind staff, wonderful breakfast and the garden is a true marvel. Not to mention the momumental building and interiors. The rooms were clean, everything was perfect, would come back again.

Overall wonderful experience, maybe the wifi could have some greater coverage inside the building (not just in the room).

This is a gorgeous old-style mansion which has been very well refurbished. The rooms are located in modern adjacent buildings and enjoy the comfort expected today, but the reception areas are beautiful and give the feeling to be transported 100 years ago. A wonderful experience. The staff is in general very nice and helpful and contribute to make your stay a unique experience. Nice and quite inside pool.

Breakfast was a bit rushed, but the quality of the food and the interior decoration of the restaurants were great.

Complimentary shuttle to Belem Tower or Lisbon city center. Fantastic breakfast with many options. The hospitality and hotel grounds were top tier. I knew it what be nice but it felt like royal treatment. You eve. Have access to an indoor pool and sauna. I woukd stay here again in a heartbeat.

If i am being nit picky - Walking outside from main building to where our room was when it's cold out. It's short but when it's cold brrr.

In one word: everything. If you need a reason to stay in Lisbon this hotel should be it. The staff members are professional and very friendly. The service was amazing. Food was excellent. We loved our stay here, and will be hopefully coming back soon.

The property is a palace in a beautiful garden . It is a little distance from Lisbon square but is peaceful and quiet . Taxis are at the door . We took one to Sintra for the day . Our 2 rooms for my son and self had balcony’s with table and chairs by the garden .

-We choose hotel as it had an outside heated pool. On arrival were told that there was indoor and outside pool. However when we went to the outdoor pool it was drained- no water! - very skimpy on toiletries for 2 people (only 1 conditioner and body lotion /day)

The palace is beautiful and feels like you are diving into the history of kings and queens of Portugal when you are staying there. The staff was amazing and made us feel like at home they went above and beyond. Breakfast was phenomenal ! The view from rooms is beautiful and it is super quiet at night , we slept with open windows and did not hear anything apart from planes , but even planes only start flying in the morning time so at night it’s a great sleep.

Food in the bar was not very tasty you will have to dine outside anywhere in Lisbon because it tastes better. As we stayed in January it was quite cold whole rooms are heated up well, the walk from the rooms to the breakfast area was very cold. Originally we wanted to celebrate New Years in the hotel however we decided not to as it would have been too cold to wear dresses.

We loved the staff! It was my mother's 73rd birthday and they went above and beyond! A beautiful cake was waiting in our room. We loved the beauty of the place and felt like royalty. It was such a special experience.

Beautiful garden-like hotel grounds, sculptures, paintings, truly a palace! Modern gym, indoor/outdoor pool, terrace breakfast, even a bird sanctuary to discover as you walk the paths between the hotel main buildings.

Some areas of the hotel were not maintained, with musty smells and dust and storage, so it was more comfortable to only walk in the most-used parts of the hotel. I requested a bottle of wine from room service and it never came, I requested 3 times. I wasn't charged for the bottle, but it seems the staff becomes overwhelmed and ignores non-urgent requests during busy times. The real problem is the staff says they will do it, but then don't.
