The service was exceptional.

Our stay at the hotel was absolutely unforgettable. The place truly feels like a real palace — every detail, from the stunning decor to the luxurious fabrics, exudes elegance and history. Service was amazing, making us feel genuinely cared for. Breakfast was a highlight — beautifully presented, varied, and absolutely delicious each day. Everything was of the highest quality, and we especially loved the subtle, beautiful scent that filled the hotel and the wonderful music that created such a refined atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back — it’s a truly magical place.

The staff truly makes the difference for your stay. From Tiago and Luc for being a historical expert of the city while driving the shuttle, to Lara and Lays and Ana for the excellent service during breakfast and diner, and Maria and Paula for the warmest hostesses.

Beautiful property. Well laid out and stunningly decorated. Free Champagne on arrival. Amazing spa, the best Massage I have ever had.

The food in the hotel restaurants were sub par for the cost. Much better to eat out in Lisbon. The buffet breakfast was amazing though. Got food poisoning from poorly stored tuna and was admitted to hospital.

Beautiful grounds and building. Room also very comfortable. Staff were generally very friendly.

It’s nearly perfect hotel, but it lacks attention to details sometimes. At this price point and being a 5* property, those details matter, like clearing plates at the bar promptly. Also annoying how it prioritises events over guests. Wasn’t able to eat lunch at the terrace because of a wedding in the dining room, absurd.

No Iron table. Steam iron provided later was dirty

Absolutely beautiful, in outstanding grounds , it was a real palace so comfortable especially the bed , it was clean , food was amazing , staff was very friendly .

Gorgeous historical palace with lovely on site Thai restaurant in a fabulous structure.

The location is not great. It is very far from center city where all the bars and restaurants are located and a serious hoof it up a hill from where the buses run. Only one trolly line goes up the hill.

The peaceful location and gardens. The leisure facilities particularly the indoor pool. The splendid palace interior.

The unimpressive menu in the *fine dining* restaurant and absence of positive reviews.

The breakfast offered a wonderful variety, including a fine selection of fruits. While my personal favorites, such as passionfruit and figs, weren't always available, the overall quality was excellent. The hotel itself is impeccably clean and tastefully decorated. The staff were uniformly helpful, nevertheless there is a group of people that truly stood out for their exceptional performance: Diogo (Reception); Débora Fontes (Breakfast and Pool Area); Vera Costa (Breakfast hostess); Evelyn (Breakfast); Bernardo Mora (Pool Area); Carolina Saraiva (Reception) and Hálio (Bellman). Their attention to detail, caring nature, and delightful combination of professionalism and good humor were truly commendable. A warm thank you to this specific staff members, you were outstanding.

One suggestion for an enhancement would be the addition of an adults-only outdoor pool. One exterior pool is not enough for the size of this palace. During the first three days of our stay, the main pool was unfortunately unusable as the water had become cloudy from high occupancy and had visible particles, very unpleasant. A dedicated adult area would provide a more tranquil alternative. Furthermore, a wonderful addition to this beautiful palace would be a library or a reading room. A curated collection of books would offer guests a delightful way to unwind and would perfectly complement the hotel's elegant ambiance.

Impressive historical location

There is not one public space in the hotel where there is no music. It is rather present. Not necesarry. Meddium quality speakers

Our City view bedroom had a noisy generator outside the window.

nice view from the garden rooms, very impressive indoor feeling, historical motion everywere. Breakfast is very delicious and diverse.

Classic hotel in Lisbon.

The Electric charge still Not Fix but the Garage staff help to charge from Outside the hotel. Thanks indeed for the Garage staff. ( It’s 2nd time about this issue. )

Spacious room with excellent housekeeping service. Having both indoor and outdoor pools was great. Lovely grounds and the main, historic building is amazing. Breakfast is fabulous - great choice and sitting in the grand dining area was very special. We loved our stay at Pestana Palace Lisboa.

Check in was a bit of a long and chaotic process. Our bags didn't appear in our room so my husband went and got them. Not a problem for us as we prefer to take our own luggage to the room and not have the faffing around of luggage being delivered but some guests might want a more streamline check in and luggage service.

Pool area is beautiful and receives sun throughout the day. It’s lovely having access to grand rooms in the palace. Service was excellent and all staff were delightful!

Cooked breakfast (bacon, eggs etc) was cold on all 3 mornings we dined.

Amazing value, stunning property, wonderful staff, incredible breakfast and very welcoming to families. Probably most favourite hotel ever!

What a wonderful hotel. We ended our long trip in Portugal by staying here for the last few days, and it was absolutely perfect. Everything was beautiful, making it truly a five-star experience that we will remember for a long time. The ambient music and the hotel itself were so impressive that they alone are worth a tour.

The only negative point was the bed in our room. It was extremely soft and flexible, so every time my wife moved, I felt the bed vibrating, and vice versa. It was a shame, because the sheets and pillows were very comfortable.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel dripping with history, just on the outskirts of Lisbon. Beautiful pool area and grounds. Easy access to the centre via Uber or Taxi, which was only around 5 or 6 euros. First class treatment at reception and upon arrival. Delicious breakfast buffet on the grounds.

Drinks were on the expensive side for Lisbon, but what I really didn't like was the fact they then also added a service charge without asking each time of 10-12% (I can't remember exactly the percentage). Coming from Spain we knew this is not the norm, and felt like they were taking advantage of their guests by sneaking it in there. Pretty sure diners at the Lake House would not notice and then add a tip on top as well. It just detracted slightly from the otherwise perfect experience, an unnecessary step as their patrons would most likely tip generously anyway.

Decoration and atmosphere

It’s a stunning property. Beautiful inside and outside. Loved the paintings on the walls, the old carriage, the breakfast was amazing. The rooms were cozy and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable. Most of the personnel were friendly and apparently had been on a customer management course so well done.

The breakfast cue was chaotic and disorganised. They could ask people the day before to confirm times so they can allocate people to the respective busy times. When we finally got a table after 20 min we saw many empty tables and quite a few people walking around so it was a question of organisation. Outside they were not able to accommodate families over 4 people, why not try?

Well maintained palace

Stingy policies regarding water. Very expensive stay but they cannot afford to give you more than 0.5 litre of water per day, even when they charge you quite an exorbitant price compared to market rates of other five star hotels.

Only one issue. They are very stingy about water bottles. When the stay is super expensive and property calls itself monument or palace, they are not expected to discuss number of water bottles given and then charge 6 Euros for each 0.5 litre water n bottle. In general, we have seen that no five star facility does that. This approach was completely not understood, especially when the daily room rate is so high and we were staying in suit , 3 of us and they expected us to manage a day with 0.5 litre bottle each. Too bad.

Fantastic cool front tea area to sit and relax, especially the outside veranda. Staff very friendly especially (forgotten his name) music producer bar man in main bar. Breakfast buffet fantastic too, swimming pool area perfect in the evening time.

Not much to complain about!

The breakfast is exceptional, every taste was catered for. I came with my four teenage grandchildren, they were overwhelmed with the beauty of the hotel. The desk staff were very helpful recommending restaurants and ordering taxis.

The building was gorgeous. Especially, the outdoor swimming pool, garden, breakfast, and a lounge were wonderful.

Housekeeping was somewhat disappointing. The room was not supplied with the expected items such as cups, water, and wine glasses, and the minibar was not checked. Additionally, the policy of checking in during the afternoon caused some inconvenience. Even though I did not answer the phone, staff opened the door without permission while I was about to take a shower, which was quite unsettling. In addition, some housekeepers were not so kind.

We had a great stay at Pestana, cannot find anything to complain. Super beautiful palace side, amazing breakfast room + pools both outside and inside.

Well.. in sauna there is no bowl to throw water on stones, which really hurts a Finnish person.

The service was not good, although people is nice they are not organized and the waiting time at the bar was too long. They need professionalism being such a nice hotel.

I liked the art work. This hotel is like a beautiful museum. The food was amazing. The best part of this hotel is the employees. They were very polite and helpful

Breakfast was amazing. We had a very nice suite that fitted ourselves and 2 small kids. Indoor pool was great, outdoor pool was beautiful, but water very cold. On site restaurants serve delicious food. Well located in between all the main sites of Lisbon. Staff go the extra mile to provide you with whatever you need

Magnificent property and staff! Kerem, the server during breakfast was 5 star. Bar server was exceptional. Greeter at entrance to property was joyful and helpful.

A little out of city center. Needed more staff at pool- Didn’t see anyone for over an hour. A server at breakfast could have been more helpful.

the front desk and hotel staff were beyond amazing. Super helpful and humorous. The rooms were lovely, we upgraded for the last night which was massively worthwhile to experience the original suites.

The bar area / staffing needs some improvement at the hotel bar.. the staff were always super busy (understaffed for the size of the hotel) and it was a bit of a mess and took a while to get an order in
