New York Times review:

“Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has all the amenities of a major Strip casino, but sits a few blocks away from the action. The playful, 70s-inspired rooms are spread among three towers which are named Opal, Canyon, Ruby; the last overlooks Elia Beach Club, an outdoor pool hangout that doubles as a live music venue in the summer.”

Stylish hotel and rooms

Stylish hotel and rooms. It's also well located and has a parking lot nearby which is convenient.

We arrived to the hotel around 3/4PM but the spas, pool were already nearing closing time. We couldn't use any of the amenities. The room also has sensors (?) I believe in the food/drinks/snacks in the room and if you happened to pick up any by mistaken, you're seemingly automatically charged for the items. There's a very small sign that indicates it but it would be wise for the hotel to make that clearer to guest.

Overall, our stay was good, and the hotel offers great value for the price.

We had a good stay at this hotel! The room was spacious, and the hotel staff at the reception desk were very helpful. The value for the price was excellent, and the hotel's proximity to the airport made our travel convenient. We appreciated the $50 credit they provided when they couldn't fulfill our booking request for a king-size bed.

When we checked in, we were welcomed by a moth in our room. While trying to catch it, we discovered a lot of dust on the lamps. The safe didn’t work, there were no channels on the TV, and Netflix didn’t work either. Planes were constantly flying over the hotel, making it difficult to sleep even with earplugs. The alarm clock next to the bed showed the wrong date. Additionally, we couldn’t believe that the water in the hotel pool was heated, despite the temperature being over 32 degrees Celsius. The pool was as hot as soup. However, there was a small shallow pool inside the main pool with slightly cooler water, where all the guests tried to squeeze in.

Great Beachy Vibe Hotel Just Outside the Strip

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We have been countless times to Vegas and wanted something outside the Strip, but still close enough to have fun. The room was absolutely beautiful, extremely spacious with an entrance area that included 2 small closets and a vanity table and everything needed (ironing board, safe,...). The bathroom had 2 double sinks and a shower. Toilet area was a little small. The bedroom had a beautiful Kind size bed, a small living room area with a couch and coffee table and everything needed. We loved that flooring was hard wood and not carpet. Everything was spotlessly clean. We also truly loved the unique main pool. It was half pool/half beach (with sand). It felt like we were on vacation somewhere else. To top it off, the main pool has a stage with live bands/DJs. Another great point was the Uber/Lyft pick-up area. Super convenient next to the main entrance. It was a great hotel to stay at, and we would definitely come back. We didn't try any of the hotel's restaurants, but we saw a lot of people enjoying them, so we believe they must be good. This hotel would have been perfect with a SPA.

Staff was really not pleasant to deal with. Upon check-in late at night, we got to our room and went straight to the restaurant we had booked at another location. Curtains were closed, so we didn't noticed that we were attributed the wrong type of room. We specifically requested Strip View. Upon talking with reception, they offered to give us another room with PARTIAL strip view. We were a little disappointed that it wasn't what we booked, and requested to speak with a manager. Again, offered the same partial strip view, that's the best they could do. We refused as we only had one night left (2 night booking) and didn't want to pack all our things for one night. The next options was a $70 credit compensation to use at the hotel. We requested if they could also help us with one breakfast, but they didn't want to accommodate. Very disappointed of our interactions from the staff, from check-in, to check-out.

Would definitely stay here again.

Room was spacious and well designed, and I loved the quirky feel. Although the hotel is off the strip, it had ample restaurants and bars close by. I walked to the strip on a few occasions comfortably.

I didn't like that the Kassi pool was so inaccessible. It was half empty most of the time and looked amazing, but having a minimum spend AND ridiculous prices for a chair is a pretty huge deterrent, especially for a solo traveller who just wants some downtime. Bit of a waste of an amazing area.

Comfortable with a few minor critiques

For a one night stay with a teenager, this hotel was a good option. It is off the strip, and allows for relative peace and quiet in the city that is always going. The casino in the hotel was not busy at all, and this made me feel a bit more comfortable considering that we were there as a stop over point during our National Parks trip. We did enjoy breakfast in the diner downstairs, and there are plenty of options for dining (cafe, dunkin, mexican restaurant, the diner, and another place I noticed). Room on the 17th floor was clean and had a decent view. Self-service parking in their garage was free and easy. Ride-share pickup area is very nice. Staff at the front desk (Jose) and our server (Zach) were very pleasant, and made interactions very enjoyable. Bed was comfortable.

The price was a little high, especially given the fact that the pool was green and we didn't want to go in it. For $200+ a night, I expect the ammenities to be in perfect condition. Location was good, but a bit far to get to the strip if you don't have your own car. Public transportation isn't a truly viable option if you want to get their quickly and without being accosted by the homeless or drug addicts. Plan to uber or get a taxi - it's too far to walk in the Las Vegas heat. Remind your children not to touch any of the water/snacks in the room or you'll get charged. Ice machine on Floor 17 in the Opal tower wasn't producing any ice, so we didn't have cold drinks available to us.

Very nice hotel

The room was very spacious, modern, and clean. Unlike many other places there were plenty of spots to plug in a charging cable.

I know people come to Vegas for the gambling, but I do not like seeing casinos in my hotel.

A perfectly serviceable Vegas experience!

The room was clean, stylish, and comfortable. There was plenty of parking in the garage, and it was very convenient to the airport.

It overlooked the pool, which was fairly noisy during the day, but after hours, it was perfectly quiet in our tower.

Comfy Hotel but nothing happening at or around the hotel.

It is a brand new hotel, with modern furniture and design. It is a cheaper alterative to the other hotels at the strip. You pay half the price of a Vegas Strip hotel, and can pay $10 Uber ride to get there if you like. Good price to performance if this is what you are after. Definitely not the best you can find in Vegas.

No coffee machine at the room, this is simply not acceptable at this day and age. The hotel was not a happening hotel (this might be plus for some). Most guest, including us, went to other hotels for entertainment. The casino was mostly empty, most tables weren't being used. Other hotels have live DJ performances at the pool, this hotel had no such entertainment at the time of our stay.

Beautiful property but not the best choice for us.

Unfortunately we did not have a proper amount of time to stay at this property to thoroughly enjoy all that was offered. After checking in and doing self parking we made our way to our room. We dropped off our luggage and proceeded downstairs for a few drinks at the lobby bar before heading out for dinner. We went to bed early since we had to catch a 6:15am flight home the next morning. The bed and room were very comfortable and spacious and the bathroom was large as well.

This probably was not the best choice of hotels for us. We should have chosen a much smaller hotel, less expensive with closer parking. It was a silly waste of money for the amount of time we were there. Also, our first choice for a drink was at one of the outside bars. Unfortunately it took a long time to even be acknowledged and when we finally were, and saw the beer menu, we were quite disappointed in the limited options. That's when we headed inside for another bar.

The room and the pool were wonderful. Other than the check in experience, staff was very pleasant.

The hotel room was wonderful - very large, comfy bed, large sitting room area… pool was great.

Had the worst check-in experience. Staff person was rude, abrupt and unhelpful. Breakfast was very expensive for very average food.

Would probably stay again

Beautiful, spacious and clean rooms. Loved the oversized bathroom, living area and vanity. Strip view was meh but the big windows were great. Also the pool was amazing!

Misleading advertisement: booked in the Ruby tower because it said the room included a coffee/tea maker—VERY important to me—but the room didn’t have one. When I called the front desk, I was told none of those rooms had them, unless I paid more for an upgrade (thought I already did?) and that I would have to go downstairs to purchase coffee instead. Also says microwave, fireplace and other amenities which was not accurate. Check-in took way too long, not enough staff. Walk to strip was further than expected but not a dealbreaker.

Well designed rooms and a touch of peace away from the Strip

The hotel is a little out of the way, which was nice to be away from the hustle, and a lot calmer. The rooms are huge and spacious, very well designed and had almost everything except the kitchenette which was advertised when I booked.

Not all pools were open until the third day, but when they were it was great. It would’ve been good to have the kitchen that was advertised as part of my room. And I was charged multiple times at the Casa Calavera restaurant which has been an issue to resolve…

Room very large and looked nice.

Cleanliness was just ok, think design of some areas makes housekeeping difficult. For example, shower/toilet room looks clean with door open but once you close is dirt on the floor and marks on back of door. Cleaners will only see if the close the door which they maybe don’t do as quite a small room/area. Also, casino area a bit dark and uninviting. Stayed at The Wynn on other nights in Vegas and the casino area there was much classier.

Like the room and free parking, the facility environment is too big for us.

The overall room design is nice and the room storage organizer consideration is done very well. The bed is very comfortable. As well, it is nice to have parking for free service. In general, we had very nice service staff support when needed.

The juice fridge is only designed for selling their product, we cannot put our own drink unless we are willing pay the $40 to take out their drinks in the fridge. The hotel should clarify that fridge service with fee in the advertisement. There is no free coffee/tea available in the room, only 2 small bottles of water provided daily. Hence, we found the resort fee is not worth for the value.
