Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff, Johannesburg

The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Everything was thoughtfully prepared to suit my dietary preferences, and I truly enjoyed every bite. The cappuccino, in particular, was one of the best I’ve ever had.

To be completely honest, there wasn’t anything I truly disliked. The only minor issue I noticed was a faint smell in the bathroom, likely coming from the pipes or drainage. It slightly affected the freshness of the room when I first arrived, though it didn’t reflect on the cleanliness, which was excellent. Perhaps a bit of maintenance could help improve this in future. Aside from that, everything else was outstanding, from the thoughtful preparation before my arrival to the attention to detail and warm hospitality throughout my stay. I truly appreciated the upgrade and how my reason for the visit was acknowledged and respected.

The restaurant, the spa and gym, the pools, the room particularly the bathroom and especially the staff.

Noisy residents coming back late at night, every night, which woke us up. Faulty shower and drain but this was rectified immediately and the management went above and beyond to apologise and correct the problem.

It was our first time staying at Four Seasons, so our expectations were high. Room and gym maintenance can be improved, but Four Seasons team did their best to overcome those issues. They really care about their customers.

Food and view were very good. Room was nice but for pricing a bit disappointing.

The staff was very helpful, kind and social. The bed was extremely comfortable. Gym & spa were well equipped.

The towels were not the cleanest. Had a chewing gum come out of my towel. Also, the menu at the restaurant was very limited. Could be a more diverse menu.

Stunning location, the Flames bar / restaurant is amazing with views to die for. The staff were universally excellent: friendly, efficient and helpful.

It's a bit odd for a Four Seasons - more "faded Colonial glamour" than "slick, 21st Century perfection". Everything is scrupulously clean but a bit old-fashioned and a little tired.

It's light on entertainment and not very family-friendly. There's no kids' menu in the restaurant and nothing particularly appealing for children on the main menu. There's a small family pool but that's about it in terms of facilities for children. The TV didn't have many entertainment channels, no film hire or streaming services and no way to plug in to play films from one of our devices.

Some things were unnecessarily expensive. The food is over the odds for Johannesburg. And the airport transfer when we arrived cost TEN TIMES the price of the cab to the airport when we left.

Everything is exceptionally about 4 Season, view is breathtaking, food and drinks met my standards and beyond.

This was one of the most beautiful, four seasons properties we have ever visited. Built into a hillside with great views, a wonderful restaurant, and exceptional staff members, we loved it!

We loved everything about this hotel. Views are just lovely, rooms are spacious and decoration is nice. Staff is exceptional and food was great. We will definitely stay here for future trips to Johannesburg.

Above and Beyond our expectations! To name a few, stunning heated pool, exceptional staff, beautiful views, stunning food at restaurant, highly accommodating where nothing was too big an ask!

We rested between a trip in Zimbabwe and a flight home. Spa is just excellent. We enjoyed the sauna and pools. The restaurant was amazing, a view of the city, very tasty food and excellent service. We checked out very early and for us prepared breakfast boxes. The staff is just wonderful. Through WhatsApp they helped on all issues.Thank you very much.

We had 2 badroom suite. Separate beds are very narrow 80 or 90 cm. You are The Four seasons! How can this be? My son (14 years old) just fell out of bed and came to sleep to my king size bed. Please, you need to do something about it. So far I do not advise booking a room with 2 separate beds. Otherwise, everything is super!

The staff were all exceptionally professional and helpful, the food was excellent, the room large and comfortable and the gym was very well equipped. Great views from the restaurant terrace.

The airport transfer was very expensive. Hoardings around the building work.

An amazing hotel, amazing staff and incredible service

Very nice staff coupled to a very comfortable room. Concierge was particularly helpful. Flames restaurant was not our favourite during our trip.

Management needs to adjust the spa menu - online and onsite are two different. But staff handled it very professionally

Toilet broke, air conditioning did not work, room service took forever.

We stayed at the beginning and end of our holiday/honeymoon. This a great hotel with a lovely restaurant (Flames). What truly makes it 5* and sets it apart from the rest is the staff. They are all (and I mean all) very friendly and genuinely interested in how you are and offering you the best service. To name a few… Mpho, Calvin, Musa, Aduse, Mukona, Noel, Sbongile but, honestly, they were all brilliant.

Restaurant service needs to improve. It doesn’t match the accommodation service. The service is quite slow and waiters appear not to be well trained. It can be better.

Beautiful rooms, great staff and location was safe and really enjoyable. Breakfast was amazing and the concierge Ashton was amazing too! We would return!

They are currently renovating which didn’t look so nice. Gym could have more equipment. The transfers to and from the hotel are super expensive for what they are so recommend using uber instead.
