Pera Palace Hotel, Istanbul

The room was quite nice! And the best was the clawfoot bathtub! Oh my! With a high back so you could really relax! When I checked out, I expressed how impressed I was with the hotel and how much I enjoyed my stay. The receptionist gave me a postcard of the hotel. She may not know it, but I am an avid postcard writer and that postcard was completed and mailed before I left Turkey. Thank you!

The staff members were incredibly attentive, friendly, and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Their dedication to providing outstanding customer service truly made my stay memorable and enjoyable.

The staff were extremely attentive and looked after our every need and the history of the hotel was clearly celebrated and on show.

Absolutely brilliant hotel.

The property was beautiful and rooms very spacious and luxurious .All the staff especially housekeeping on our floor was always very warm and welcoming.The concierge’s recommendations were all top notch.The area outside was always buzzing and there were some lovely book shops and cafés down the road.

I would comment on "Breakfast" - it is just a recommendation as we really liked this hotel and hope by our review to help it become even better:-) So, even tough the breakfast was abundant, it was typical European breakfast that we can have everywhere, whereas we expected some of the famous Turkish delicacies and samples of a typical Turkish cuisine.

1. The restaurant could benefit from a better menu, or at least to make sure to provide what is already on the menu. In our case - three of our chosen options (both from meals and wines lists )haven't been available, so it has been quite a disappointment. 2. The idea of a special "Afternoon Tea Experience" is excellent with fantastic variety of snacks, cakes and sweets, beautiful piano music in authentic Belle Époque ambience, but we have been waiting for ages for somebody from the waiters to come and offer us tea or coffee. Besides, when they finally came it turned out they have only ready made only one variety of a tea poured by an ordinary jar. For a real tea connoisseurs we would recommend to go to the hotel Café - everything there is exquisite and they offer wide range of delicious teas brewed at the moment and served in elegant silver pots and porcelain sets. 3. Another recommendation for the Management - it maybe worth to consider avoiding to offer this "Afternoon Tea Experience" to a big and loud tourist groups without informing or even obliging them to follow certain rules and dress code. In our case it was almost impossible to hear the brilliant performance and music of the lady at the piano such was the noise from an "overly excited" big group of tourists with whom we needed to share the "Experience".

Our junior suite was very comfortable and we were very happy with the facilities.

The service at breakfast was very poor and they did not have soy or almond milk easily available for intolerant persons.The staff spoke little english both at breakfast and at the terrace restaurant were the service was incredibly slow.

The property is so old world European. Lavish & truly stunning.

The staff were very friendly. The building was cool and our room was quiet.

Our bathroom had an odd smell that permeated into the sleeping area. At times it was fine, but then it would begin to smell again. We figured it was the water.

Room service offers limited choices

Location: Excellent, atop trendy Pera neighborhood of interesting streets, restaurants, cafes and nightlife. Room: "Deluxe Golden Horn Side Room King" was spacious and perfectly clean, both room, bed and bathroom. From the balcony, a beautiful incredible view over the Golden Horn and city rooftops below; view from the bed is limited.

Location of hotel was very good - close to Istikal. Breakfast was excellent, many opitons and everything was deliciious. The staff of the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel itself is a treasure.

It's historical aspects

Nothing, it was charming.

We loved the old nostalgic feel of the Pera. Everything was clean and well preserved.

For the price we expected more than just the room however everything from breakfast to 3 o’clock tea and even parking parking was extra and prices are inflated. I declined flowers in the room at a cost of $5 per flower and opted to purchase our own at the florist around the corner at the cost of $15 for a large bouquet.

Beautiful hotel with period fittings and great history with modern facilities

Lifts that make you feel like a sardine. Service was more 4 star than 5 star as not always attentive or quick.

It is the best location in all Istambul, and cool stuff i remember a guy from the spa, his name is Ramazan very nice and polite guy.
