Hostel Cheers Lighthouse, Istanbul

I am glad I chose this option, The location of the hostel was best. You have everything nearby just on your walking feet. I chose to come back to Istanbul and stayed here again.

Need regular checkup on bathroom cleanup rest everything is is super perfect.

Best view of any hostel I’ve been to personally, pretty solid breakfast as well so breakfast with a view at a hostel is awesome. Extremely well located for all the touristy type things.

The location of the hostel is ideal for a first time in Istanbul as it is close to the main historical sites The staff Serdar, Sedat and Maassoum are amazingly friendly and helpfull It is easy to meet other travellers especially solo travellers

It used to be a great place to stay when I visited Istanbul 3 years ago. I did not get the same vibes/ energy as it used to be. It is still a relatively good place to stay with a great location to meet all your basic needs that close to all main attractions in Sultanahmet.

Please replace all your pillows and mattresses. The pillows are very lumpy, and we could feel all the springs in those mattresses as well.

We arrived very late and were greeted and helped right away. We booked a private room and were taken to a room that was not what we had booked. We went back and told them and after a few phone calls and a bit of time, we were told that room was not available but they would give us another room in that category. We did get a bigger room but not nearly as nice as any of the pictures on Booking. It’s advertised as a boutique hostel but the rooms we saw were very basic.

Breakfast was always on schedule had everything I would need to start the day. Staff went overboard to ensure my stay was enjoyable and went as so far to offer recommendations. Bonus was that everyone had an amazing vibe and the atmosphere of the hostel was perfect for vacation. Nothing not to like.

The location is perfect to wander the tourism places. Breakfast is also included.

The vibes didn't meet my expectation. Very different from the picture shown. There were also 3 rude people coming on my last day of staying who don't follow the house rules. They were almost ruining my holiday.

Prefect location Near to all the attractions in Sultanhamet and public transportation.

Very well located to the main attractions, lovely terrace with a view. The breakfast as amazing, one of the best ones i’ve had at a hostel. The owner was lovely and very helpful

A bit basic rooms, but good for a couple of nights

There was a lot to like but I’d mention a few. Firstly the owners were super friendly and helpful. They literally made you feel like they could ask for anything at anytime and they would gladly assist. They helped me with my tours, my transfers to and from the airport etc. The lady who serves as the bartender is always so joyful and vibey. When she notices a sad atmosphere, she dances and makes the place feel like such a vibe. The rooms and bathroom was really clean however I’d suggest you take your own towel as they don’t provide and if you need, you’d have to pay 80 TL. The location is just perfect. Walking distance to almost everywhere. 24h reception is amazing. The views from the breakfast lobby is breathtaking. There was always something exciting happening each night and the amount of different nationalities was so nice! You will definitely make friends and mingle with a lot of people. Definitely recommend staying here

Well I wouldn’t say didn’t like but wasn’t what I expected. I booked the hostel with the side that faces the ocean but instead got the road facing one. The doors of the rooms squeak really loudly so it interrupts sleep sometimes. There is no towel provided. The breakfast is really basic and not too much to offer.

Jay had moved on a week before our arrival, and the atmosphere had dipped accordingly. Hopefully they will find another barman with something of his skill and outgoing personality.

De staff members are very welcoming and eager to help one out! They have almost every night an activity with the other hostel members, which is very fun. It is in the europe side nearby Sultanahmet mosque. You meet lots of international people and has a nice vibe.

Well not much, everything was nice. We had some difficulties with the electricity, but it was due to the municipal road work. A slight discount would have been nice tho :). But a definitely recommended place to stay

The managers were extremely helpful and good spirits. Great location and quiet within the main tourist area.

From the host to the occupancy of the room, everything was spot on. The room was perfect for solo traveller that still wanted their own privacy.

There really wasn't anything to not like, The room was situated on a busy side road, so you were disturbed with noise. Other than that, nothing not to like.

I was meant to stay for only a couple of days but ended up spending an entire week. Met some really awesome people, and we had the time of our lives. The staff were really cool people. Shoutout to Murat and Jay for being so welcoming and cool

It was very close to tourist locations like mosques etc walkable and easy to find and the breakfast was with fresh fruit which was nice. The balcony was nice. Belongings in room were untouched (although they do enter every day without a dnd sign). Price point was ok, but with the hassle of below it can be rethought. The manager could give good tips about the accomodation- keep in mind you should not pay more that 500 Lr to get from airport via taxi- good to know before! Manager had good lentil soup recommendation, and the hamaam was in walking distance.

The room was quite dirty, with holes in the sheets and missing amenities- the sheet was not fitted and came loose a lot to show the mattress which had some stains. There was an undisclosed 10% service fee for all card payments, even though we had chosen to pay prior via booking.com - they also refused to give us a receipt for the cash transaction. This was a big issue for us, so just be aware if that matters to you. We also saw that the prices in the photos for the bar advertised were 10 x cheaper than in reality- not somewhere you can get a cheap beer at eod. I probably would not suggest this location for a private room (cannot speak to the dorms) as there are more comfortable places on the Karakoy side.

Nice staff, comfortable bed and good breakfast. You would enjoy small ocean view from the terrace. Many cafes, restaurants etc. services are available around the hostel.
