Service staff was excellent

We had a king signature room with lounge access, everything was perfect and matching our expectations, staff extremely welcoming and helpful, room quiet and beautiful, nice pool and gym, food delicious and one of the best Vietnamese coffee I had in Ho Chi Minh.

Excellent facilities and great location

The pool was surrounded by buildings so you could never really get a great spot in the sun for very long - you had to keep moving seats and the lock door system was a bit annoying! The Spa area is a bit out of date and could do with a revamp to clean it up a bit !

Beautiful room overlooking the Opera House and Lan Som Square. Perfect location for exploring the city on foot. Staff and service was exceptional. Historic rooftop bar is a real gem that serves fabulous cocktails

There was nothing we didn’t like.

The Caravelle is in a really great location in District 1, which means you are right in the main shopping areas with easy access to all the local tourist spots such as the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon, Saigon Central Post Office and the fabulous Ben Nghe Street food (loved it there). The hotel itself is so well run with extremely attentive staff who are so lovely and friendly. It’s an iconic hotel and is really well looked after.

Fabulous location , lovely view of the opera house and the room was spacious and well appointed. The lounge access was the icing on the cake.

I loved this hotel, everything right. Staff very helpful, hotel clean. What put it above others was the attention to detail in the room design, from the bathroom layout to the electrical switches, lighting, amenities in the room, quietness. Even the view though limited was still very nice.

If I was picky my wife mentioned her side of the bed was not even, but not terrible either.

It was well located and excellent value for money.

We had previously only stayed in smaller boutique hotels so had less character than others.

Location is excellent. Staff are wonderful - friendly, professional & helpful! Great air conditioning - very much needed given the Saigon weather. Loved my two spa experiences with Loan. Also, appreciate Thien's kindness at the desk.

One side was bed was used much more than the other - so it had fallen - but I still got a good night sleep. Also the lobby could use more seating as well as more comfortable furniture.

The location is very convenience. The team of staff very nice and friendly. The Concierge was very knowledgable.

The water was not really hot and took about 20 mins to get hot. The bed was too old and been over used. It was like sleeping in a cocoon. The staff took our problems very seriously but there was not much they can do. When we were there, there was a big concert rehearsing every night till 1am.

We used the executive floor and the food and service was excellent.

The poolside cocktails were poor quality, short cuts were made to the traditional recipes which meant they weren't enjoyable.

Breakfast range was good and extensive . Quality of food provided is excellent!

Location is excellent to get around. Place is clean and the reception staff was courteous.

The bed is too soft.

The male staff at the front desk is very helpful. Not sure if I got his name correctly but sounds like Treet. He went above his work duty to help me with paper work that I need to print and email to my work. This is my second time to stay in this hotel, and is becoming my favourite.

All the staff were very helpful and polite. Rooms were nice and clean and quite. Beds were so comfortable as well. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Our suite room was very spacious and comfortable, with beautiful views overlooking the Opera House and the city. Our children stayed in a separate twin room, which was also very comfortable and well appointed. It was the perfect setup for our family to relax after a day out. The executive lounge was another highlight, calm and inviting, with delicious food and drinks that we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. We would especially like to thank Nhi, Ngan, Huy, and Uyen, who went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Their warmth and professionalism really made our stay memorable.

There was only one minor issue during check-out when returning the key cards on the ground floor. While waiting in line, another guest stepped in front of us and was served without being asked to wait her turn. This was a small incident and did not detract from our overall experience, but addressing situations like this would further enhance the hotel’s professionalism and fairness for all guests.

Everything was perfect. I booked a signature room with lounge access, when I checked in I was given a free room upgrade (larger room). I originally booked because of my interest in journalism/history, but everything else exceeded expectations. Food, comfort, staff, location, etc. - all exceptional.

I wish my trip was longer so I could stay a few more nights

Exceptional value for a bit of old world glamour in the heart of Saigon. Loved it. Beds were comfortable, Pool was great, Breakfast was delicious.

This hotel sits in the best spot in Saigon. Right at the Opera House and within few minutes to most attractions. Good breakfast but not amazing. Limited food options. Staff was very attentive and friendly.

The rooms that face the opera house can be very loud at night all the way until 3-4am Great views but can be annoying when you try to sleep.

We came a day before the new year, and we couldn't order a place in the hotel rooftop. It was fully booked - I needed to order it in advance. But besides this, everything was perfect.

Great location in downtown Ho Chi Minh. Proximity to the Opera is a bonus as you can conveniently see the shows.

Hopefully the metro will develop more to resolve the surrounding traffic issue

The concierge man was wonderful as were the staff in the lobby and street entrance. The check in lady at the "signature" lounge was very nice, and welcome drinks were nice after a 24 hours of flying and travel. The breakfast was very, very good, the salad at the Opera coffee cafe and the heavy hors'oeuvre in the "signature lounge" were also excellent.

The uneven policy on the dress code at the signature lounge was embarrassing to me and really, really soured me on staying at the Caravelle. I had seen other guests wearing "flip flop" type sandals, shorts- and definitely NOT "business casual" in the "signature lounge" both during our check in and at other visits to the lounge. I was always covered up appropriately and dressed properly....but was denied entrance for wearing "flip flops", (expensive, slightly wedged black) one time. I went back to my room and changed into sneakers....gross looking with the outfit I was wearing, but they certainly covered my feet. I counted at least 3 sets of flipflop wearing the next day....not one person reminded of the dress code and sent to go back to their room to change footwear. One woman and two men...I never pointed out the lapses or complained, but it really "stuck in my craw" that the rules were so unevenly enforced. We will be back in HCMC at the end of this lengthy trip we are currently on, for two more nights, and we will be staying somewhere else. The Caravelle was an excellent choice for our first ever nights in HCMC but I want to leave my HCMC hotel at the end on a happy, note! I recommend this hotel very heartily, but if you are "qualified" (or whatever), to use their "signature lounge" adhere to the letter on the dress code no matter what others are wearing!

Such an iconic hotel, right opposite the Opera House.. The rooms are comfortable.. really enjoyed the breakfast and we had access to the lounge on the 9th floor which was great. But most of all it's the staff who make it such a wonderful experience

They Blocked two nights stay and a Holding Deposit on my Credit card although I only stayed 1 Night! That is a hold of 22milionVND ($835) for 3 days after I had checked out! This caused financial issues with payments being declined! Ludicrous! After contacting Caravelle twice they managed to release half of the money. Still waiting for the rest.

We booked this hotel because it was the meeting point for our tour, but would definitely use it again. Good location right by the Opera House and a pretty park, with a high-end shopping mall just across the road and very close to the hop on hop off bus stop. Great breakfast, lovely staff, nice room and a good rooftop bar. Pool was also very nice. Also a bit of history, with it being the hotel base for most of the war correspondents during the Vietnam war.

I stuffed up my on-line reservation, so that the 2 couples I was booking for (2 double rooms with breakfast included) appeared as 1 person per room, which meant that each couple had to pay for one person's breakfast! My fault, not the hotel's. Otherwise, all was good.
