One of the hotel staff used a master key to enter my room at midnight while I was sleeping. While I think it was an error and he meant to access a different door, this raises a serious safety concern. Physical safety latches need to be installed in all bedrooms as matter of priority so that the electronic door key mechanism cannot be overridden by a master key or anyone who might use RFID amplification technology to open the door. In addition, processes need to be reviewed in terms of staff understanding what doors access bedrooms vs cupboards or other spaces. When I raised the issue with reception staff the next morning, after barely sleeping the rest of the night, there was initially very little concern. As a solo female traveller, I will not stay at this hotel again as I do not feel safe there.

No bathroom at all, therefore no privacy when doing ones ablutions, only one rather odd all purpose metal sink. - a huge bath, very slippery, which was a dangerous monstrosity which would take ages to fill, & be cold by the time enough water had fill it - a very dark room, with exceeding bad lightning, Great difficulty putting in my contact lens, in the dark. - One huge bed took up most of the room - room on street level, with people looking into the room. No where to put anything down. Really, completely non functional at all. If this had been in the red light district, just might have understood the reasoning : purpose of this room. So pleased we had only booked this for the one night only. If we had encountered any emergencies, no phone in any rooms, no information outside the room even to find way back to reception- loads of steps, to & fro rooms, not good when navigating hotel with suitcases. So surprised that it had been classified as a four star hotel- this hotel I will always remember as the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

We stayed in a suite room. It was the worst room and hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Firstly, the room was very gloomy. The dark brown area, tiny bathroom, and insufficient lighting made it anything but romantic. Despite choosing a double bed, there were two single duvets. Even though I repeatedly requested a change, it was ignored. I had requested a cake for my husband’s birthday days in advance, but they didn’t send it, ruining the surprise. If you consider it a central location, it’s not in a nice area. In summary, it's not worth the money.

the location was great, hotel common areas were funky and smart, bar area and restaurant looked nice and good lay out. reception staff were helpful and went to check if there was any space in the car park for me and lent us a plug adaptor.

no room in the car park as it was full, before we arrived I was offered an upgrade to a room with a bath, the price difference wasn't that much so I up graded. the room I originally booked stated in was on the upper floor. the upgraded room was above the bar and outside seated area, big mistake. loud music with a thumping base that shock the whole room until after 01.00am. the checkin staff must have know the music would disturb this room but said nothing.the carpet by the bed was wet later found out this was probably because of the odd shaped basin in the room the water splashed everywhere. odd layout to the room with tv almost over the bed. don't often write a bad review as I try to do my research before booking somewhere but I got this one badly wrong, overpriced only good thing was the location!! Love Hamburg and often stay there but won't be going back here.

Subject: Concerns Regarding Stay at East Hotel in Hamburg During my stay, I consumed nibbles from the mini-bar, only to later discover that they were expired. Unfortunately, this led to severe stomach pains, which significantly impacted my ability to enjoy my time in Hamburg.

The room is spacious and nicely designed. It has a speaker and TV inside and a really good shower. It was quiet and had a nice view to the inner yard. The toilet though doesn’t have any sound isolation :) Big choice for a breakfast.

We wanted to use the sauna once we arrived but did not have any bathrobes in the room. Once we asked for them, the reception girl said she will bring it to us. We didn’t get them on time and went to the sauna without them. Once we came back she said that they run out of the robes and won’t have them until tomorrow. She was quite cold and apathetic, no smile, no apology. We came back to the room and it was very cold. We didn’t manage to sort the temperature out by ourselves and asked for the help from the reception. They tried to fix it for 30 minutes without any success. We tried to warm ourselves up with tea, but there was no hot water in the room, so we again had to ask the reception to get us a cattle. After some time, the guy returned with the bathrobes and showed us that the heating is turned on in a different place, not in the AC. Weird he did not know this in advance and had to struggle the same as us to fix it. After one hour of trying to get warm before going to bed we got really pissed and asked for the hotel team to find a solution for the problem. They offered us an extra heater or to change a room. So we had to pack and move in the middle of the night. When we changed the room, we found out a sock on the floor, that was not ours… No upgrades or discount was offered for the entire ruined night. In the morning we paid another 70 eur for the breakfast for 2 people (I was sure it is 35 for a room and not per person, since it wasn’t marked anywhere). Overall, it’s a nice hotel, but we expected that for such a price and rating the staff could be much more empathic and custom-oriented. It shouldn’t be the guest who solves the problem of the hotel, but the hotel who solves the problem of the guest.

That I forgot my golden necklace and called the next day giving photos and all the infor related to my loss that I left inside the left pocket of a wardrobe. The person said they will ask the manager of the cleaning department but I did not hear anything back from them.

Beautiful hotel with accommodating staff. The lobby and the restaurant and bar area is quite something! It’s like an art and sculpture experience as well. Had a clean, good since room with a very comfortable bed! Would definitely come back!

This is an expensive hotel, but meets expectations especially with the attractive rooms and the stunning bar and restaurant area. We especially liked the bartender who was incredibly friendly and explained some of his signature drinks to us.

There are sometimes lines in a crowded area for check in and check out.

The design, the bed, clean, easy access and check-in. Fast wifi, helpful staff. After I checked out I could leave my luggage at the reception for a few hours! Breakfast was amazing!! This is my top 3 best hotel stays in the world!!! Loved it!!

Nothing!!

This was our second stay at eastHotel. That we returned to this hotel should say all that needs to be said. It truly is a remarkable location which I can not recommend enough. The rooms are laid out and furnished to perfection. The location is ideal, within easy walking distance of anything you might want to see in St. Pauli, and within reasonable walking distance of districts such as Altstadt, St. George, Hafencity etc. The subway link is but a stone's throw away if you desire to go further afield.

Lovely hotel! Trendy with amazing architecture! Lovely staff excellent breakfast and great location! Darhia at the reception helped so much and is such a vibrant kind lady with an amazing personality! Will def book again!

Firstly, THE BATH. east Hotel's "Splash" rooms have the most amazing bathtub EVER. The room is worth every cent based on the bathtub alone - so if you are of an aquatic bent, this is definitely the option for you. All other facilities, including a lovely large bed, are on point as well. Breakfast-wise, the hotel's offerings were a little on the pricey side for my personal tastes - but that is "each to their own." There are many wonderful cafes and bakeries nearby that you can visit if you are of a similar mindset. The location was perfect for me. A five minute walk from the Reeperbahn, and more importantly, as an avid St. Pauli fan, a five minute walk from the Millerntor. A question here on Booking.com asks me if the area around the property is safe? Yes. It's safe. Like any city, simply don't get yourself mixed up in anything you should not and you will be fine.

Honestly, I can find no fault in east Hotel whatsoever.

VERY nice Hotel, with beautiful Art Deco touches! Everything in the room was high-tech and neat, Walk-in Shower was a beautiful and very nice touch.

Honestly the only negative aspect was that the reception did not have an adapter.

It was a great venue and the placement was impeccable. The overall design of the hotel was great and luxerious. There had been put a lot of planning into the design, that was primarily organic in nature.

However, I have some minor complaints. The bathtubs faucet I had in my room was kinda broken and calcified. So it spewed hot water everywhere. Also they had a lot of great items at the breakfast table, but the fruit was stale and bruised. Especially the watermelon. Like it had been frozen a little in the fridge. Also breakfast wasn't included in the price of the room, which was kinda meh considering the price of 225 € a night.

before there was a quick breakfast opportunity, in stead of the full breakfast buffet. this was for us enough to start the day, 35 euro per person for breakfast is quiet expensive.

Second time staying here and would definitely come back anytime we're in hamburg. The Splash room is amazing with immaculate decor and a large bathtub that can fit 2 or 3. A perfect getaway hotel for couples.

Bed just beside the door, so it was kind of annoying as I’m a light sleeper. Also, it was funny when I asked for a 2pm checkout and they asked for €30 !! I can understand it in budget hotels, but not in such a hotel.

Excellent experience. The rooms were clean, the check-in service was friendly and efficient, and the room was extremely comfortable and clean.

The only slight issue was the coverage of the Wi-Fi as the connection seemed quite weak in the restaurant. But otherwise it was a superb stay, and I will definitely be back.
