Everything as the room was fantastic and clean and the hotel beautiful

Small car park but owners found us a space so not a negative.

Wonderful location close to the Botanical Garden, cute shops and cafes, and not far from Edinburgh’s main attractions.

The rooms were very quiet despite the crowd downstairs. The shower was wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. Charlotte at the front desk was so welcoming!

Great hotel, room & location.

Only thing I could suggest is a makeup mirror in bathroom. Bathroom mirror hard to get close to and mirror above desk had backlight from window.

Bedroom was truly luxurious probably the best ever. On arrival at reception (a hatch into bar) I was somewhat apprehensive that I had made a mistake in my choice. However as soon as we were shown the bedroom all doubts disappeared.

Great breakfasts every day! Perfect pancakes and perfect eggs Benedict. Had dinner only one night and it was excellent. Staff was so friendly and helpful

Our room was very warm even with window open and fan on. We think the small refrigerator was what made it so hot, the cupboard it was in felt like an oven ! The outside temperature was only 15-16 degrees centigrade

We only had a breakfast muffin as we thought breakfast was included for the price we paid. The muffin was adequate.

As I said we believe breakfast should be included and was pretty pricey at £17,50 each per day.

Very nice room, Scottish style, and great food. Breakfast was amazing! Also location was very convenient as was close (walking distance) to the old town but also in a nice area with lots of parks and high quality

Fantastic hotel, worth every penny. The building itself is something else, full of history and style. Rooms are charming, pub/restaurant downstairs is almost always full of people who come there to enjoy drinks, foods, garden and view. Located in fancy Stockbridge, The Raeburn seems to be well liked by the locals, and that speaks for itself. The breakfasts were amazing. Guests can pick basically anything from the restaurant’s breakfast menu. Full Scottish Breakfast is highly recommended. Every bit of it was tasty and of high quality, including black pudding and haggis. Meals were all freshly prepared. In the evening going out to a pub is as easy as going downstairs. Very nice selection of beers, friendly staff. The Raeburn is stylish, lively and lovely. If we could stay a bit longer just for the hotel experience, we would.

Stockbridge is lovely but don’t expect to be able to walk to the city center from there. You have to take a bus. Otherwise no downsides. Oh, and the bus stop is right next to the hotel.

Very cozy rooms and totally Scottish style. In a nice area very close to a park for family fun and activities and also walking distance to the historical center

The staff was exceptionally helpful. The bed and shower were FANTASTIC. The food was delicious. And I really liked the appearance of the decor. A very lovely hotel in a great area of Edinburgh.

I must have stayed in Edinburgh during the only 2 hot days of the year. And therefore my room was a bit stuffy. By opening the single window, the noise from the street and restaurant was a bit intrusive, especially because I am used to living in a rural environment. But I am confident that during the rest of the 363 days, the temperature of the room would have been just perfect. :)

Fabulous Bathroom

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! First of all, the staff are wonderful and caring. They respond quickly and help you with whatever unexpected things happen. They were the kindest hotel staff I have ever met. The room was beautiful with a lovely view of the neighborhood market. The beds were comfortable and there were lots of little amenities that made it so lovely to stay here. The shower was glorious. Best of all is the restaurant downstairs. Some of the best food I had in Edinburgh came from that restaurant. They did a vegetarian/vegan special dinner for Sunday night and it was honestly one of the best vegetarian fancy meals I ever had. The vegetarian breakfast options were also wonderful. The location cannot be beat. Yes. It is a 25 minute walk to the royal mile but there is so much to do around Stockbridge. The Royal Botanical Garden was stunning and in walking distance, there is also Inverleith Park which was lovely for walking and playing, and then there was also the Water of Leith Walkway. There are also countless good restaurants and bakeries within walking distance, pharmacies, a post office, and a small grocery store. Such a great hub for family exploration in Edinburgh. My kids loved it and I did too!

The hotel had a welcome feeling. We enjoyed several excellent meals in the restaurant. Will book again when we visit next time. Great location.

We liked everything about the hotel.

The standard double room was a generous size, spotless and very comfortable. Bathroom also very clean and a good size. There is little to no noise from outside and great location.

The hot water was not hot enough.

Beautiful place, really nice decorated, big room and really good bathroom. Location is key as well, walking distance from the city center. The bar and restaurant are top notch as well, fish and chips, beers, whiskeys, pasta, burguers, everything was really really good!

Bar a bit busy but great atmosphere

Great location, Stockbridge is better than being in the busier parts of the city. An easy walk into the main tourist areas. The hotel also has excellent food so no need to go searching for restaurants.

Fabulous day! The staff absolutely spoiled us for our 30th wedding anniversary! The room was more beautiful than pictured! Our meal was fabulous and the end was so quaint and cozy. LINDSAY took especially good care - our every need met! Cannot recommend more highly

Great food, and very friendly efficient staff. Stockbridge is a really interesting area, so there were locals and tourists in the hotel bar, with a very warm vibe. They brought 2 glasses of fizz to the room to celebrate our wedding anniversary, which was lovely.

Would have preferred a super king sized bed, rather than the king that was there, and it was too soft for my preference.

The shower was the best we've had in just about any hotel in the world. The veggie Scottish breakfast was superb. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating and professional. Really great. The beds were very comfortable, better than most in Scotland.

It would be nice to have more "basic" dining options on the menu. Everything was very "fancy". Sometimes you just want soup and a sandwich, you know? Or maybe just a plain salad without chicken, salmon, etc. To be fair, this seems to be the norm in Scotland, and is the same feedback I'm giving to most restaurants. Not everything needs to be haute cuisine, fit for a cooking show.

From the moment we were upgraded to a sumptuous de luxe room to the morning of check out we could not be happier with the Raeburn. Set in one of our favourite urban villages, Stockbridge, we were able to enjoy the best of the many independent shops and cafes in the area and relax in the lively bar and restaurant area of the Raeburn in the evening The young staff were exceptional and the reception staff especially so. The decor in the room was wonderful and the bath and shower area superb. I can't recommend highly enough.

The room was excellent, well appointed and had everything required. The location was great as we had a reservation at a restaurant across the road. The staff were great, couldn't be more helpful and this created a great buzz in the hotel

No breakfast included. We had a room upgrade which was a lovely surprise. Room and facilities excellent, we and felt very comfortable with excellent service from all staff.

Breakfast was very slow. We waited 40mins for porridge then cooked breakfast. They were all brought together, however this was swiftly put to rights by a supervisor, food was excellent!

We had a perfect room - so comfortable, clean and well-decorated with a large and beautiful bathroom with free-standing bath. The room service meal was delicious and we will be back to eat in the restaurant based on that! Stockbridge is a fabulous place and only a short walk from the city centre. Highly recommended.

The only one complaint I could think of was the fan in the bathroom was quite loud. But other than that absolutely nothing.

Our room was gorgeous and the bathroom was incredible!

The room was uncomfortably hot at night, we couldn’t figure out how to turn down the heating so had to sleep with the window open. Not a huge problem but noticeable.

Location and decor

A fantastic place to unwind and the staff were extremely helpful. We had the front facing deluxe room which was really spacious with a spacious bathroom with a big shower and bath, there is also a bar and restaurant within the hotel, the bar had a very relaxing atmosphere with a decent variety of beers on tap. We walked from the hotel to the Royal Mile which only took 25 minutes so is in a good location, there are also great independent shops and restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and will definitely be back

Could do with more car parking spaces but I'm sure this can't be helped.
