Front desk customer service was awful.

Good location and nice new modern bathroom. Staff were nice, good valet. The breakfast at the local french cafe was lovely but not included. Nice lobby bar.

This is not a hotel really, they are apartments. So, no robes, no mini bar, no gym, no room service etc. But a brand new dish washer and huge fridge with nothing in it. If you're expecting a nice hotel, this isn't it its really for longer stays. The room was an internal room and the huge windows looked onto another load of rooms so we had to have the curtains closed the entire time. And the bed head covered the plug so we couldn't plug our phones in. The building inside is beautiful but I wouldn't stay here again for this price.

**Review for Roost Hotel Detroit** Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the Roost Hotel in Detroit. We stayed one night in a Queen Studio and had a very poor experience when it came to rest and comfort. **Noise Issues:** From outside, there is constant noise from the air conditioning units on the roof, which sounds like sitting in an airplane. The in-room air conditioning was also very loud, with a strong wind blowing, and it was not adjustable since the control pad is locked with a code. **Light and Layout Problems:** The blinds let in too much light, which made it difficult to sleep. Additionally, the bed is positioned awkwardly in a corner, so getting in and out requires climbing over the other person. **Mattress Discomfort:** The mattress was very soft and slanted toward the middle, causing us to keep rolling into each other throughout the night. **Positives:** The management seems to be thoughtful, and there are some nice, high-quality touches, like great coffee-making facilities, clean rooms, quality soap, and even plants. **Overall Impression:** While these thoughtful details are appreciated, they cannot make up for the fundamental design flaws of the room. Whoever designed this hotel seems to have overlooked the essential elements of creating a restful environment. For the price, this experience was highly disappointing, and we would not stay here again.

Great location, nice rooms, nice building

A staff member tried to enter my room while I was on the bed. No knock, no nothing, just opened the door and started walking in. As I had just had knee surgery, I fell off the bed trying to get up and hit my knee hard, the one I just had operated on. Terrible experience.

The facilities and room were absolutely fantastic! Everything went beyond my wildest expectations. It felt like I was right at home. After attending a work-related conference nearby, I couldn’t wait to come back to the room. It wasn’t boring and cookie-cutter like other hotels. It actually felt like my personal apartment!

It was quiet was a full kitchen and laundry machines available. The location was very convenient and the staff was wonderful.

You could see the elevators and hallway through the windows, so I had to close the blinds for privacy.

The location is great and the building/lobby/common areas are really lovely. The room is well laid out and has all you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is excellent and the corner nook for eating was much nicer than a hotel room's usual standard writing desk with office chair and random club chair. Feels like a condo. The coffee beans and pour over accessories were a nice surprise. More than ample fridge/freezer. Definitely suits more than one night stay and wish we had longer to take advantage of everything the space offers.

No dislikes, but some suggestions: larger towel hooks in the bathroom, even better would be one near the shower door. The shower door doesn't really seal and water escapes onto the mat/floor. The counter is small for more than one toiletry bag but that was a minor inconvenience.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The roof- top bar is fantastic and has a great view of the city. The location is fantastic as it is in the historic district. Has two restaurants there - Japanese and French. Rooms are spacious with a kitchenette and bed is comfortable. Loved staying here and will go back when in Detroit.

Beautiful renovation of an historic lovely building, the furnished apartment suites have high quality finishes and amenities, the property has great restaurants and bars, the staff was friendly and professional.

Excellent location. Beautiful hotel. Room appeared brand new. Room was large, very well apportioned, and clean. Check in was quick. Reception desk person was awesome. Would definitely rebook for future downtown events.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous! The marble walls, the refurbished cherub clock, the lighting, the gorgeous lobby ceiling....all of it! I also enjoyed the small museum at the front of the hotel. I loved learning the history of the building. Detroit is an amazing city once again. We loved using the hotels bikes as well!

More information about where to park prior to arrival/at confirmation would have been very helpful. Luckily the staff answered the phone and were able to assist me.

It was a really nice room. The location was the best part in my opinion. For the value I feel the property matched the quality.

My room did not get cleaned in the three nights I was there and my dryer did dry the clothes or work properly. I ran it multiple times on seperate cycles and my clothes would not dry.

There is nothing that I did not like. The service was excellent from valet parking to the front service desk, very friendly. Excellent location.

I recently had a 2-night business trip to Detroit and stayed at the Roost Hotel. Honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a long time, and I travel frequently for work. The staff at the Roost were absolutely phenomenal. From the moment I arrived, they were incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. My flight landed early, and to my surprise, they were able to check me in at 1:00 pm, a full 3 hours before the standard check-in time! They didn't stop there - they even upgraded my room to a brand new one-bedroom apartment, free of charge! On checkout day, my flight was delayed, and again, the staff went above and beyond by letting me keep the room until 3:00 pm at no additional cost. This flexibility was a lifesaver and made a stressful situation much easier to manage. The room itself was amazing. It was a brand new, one-bedroom apartment that was impeccably clean and beautifully furnished. The view of downtown Detroit was just incredible. It felt more like a luxurious apartment than a hotel room, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The Roost's location in the Book Tower puts you right in the heart of the action. There are fantastic restaurants and bars within the building itself, so you have a great selection of options without even having to leave. Overall, I cannot recommend the Roost Hotel highly enough. The staff's exceptional service, the stunning accommodations, and the prime location make it a true gem. If you're looking for a fantastic place to stay in Detroit, look no further than the Roost!

Innovative new hotel chain. Each room is a nicely appointed studio apt. Very clean and comfortable, and staff if helpful and friendly. This property is in the beautifully restored Book Building in downtown Detroit, which has undergone significant revitalization. I highly recommend trying this hotel, you won’t be disappointed.

Valet was kind of expensive, but so convenient and helpful that it really didn’t matter.

The location was perfect for us - right in downtown Detroit within walking distance of the Theaters and many other sites/buildings to visit and see.

Of course, it could always be less expensive, but we were satisfied with the value of the rental unit. The building is a beautifully refurbished building, with so much charm and character!

The light from the transit center next door is too bright at night. The bathroom was cold. The shower had low water pressure and was not very hot.

Beautifully restored building in Detroit, the room was pricey but very nice. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the location is perfect if you're wanting to enjoy everything downtown has to offer.

Only downside would be that the hallways carry noise really well and a couple was fighting late in the night so we heard a lot of yelling and door slamming.

The location in the Book Tower is great. It´s all newly renovated! Great history in the building.

I stayed in the hotel within the first days of it´s opening in September. The value for money was not good at that time since service was still wrapping up. The price should also have reflect the status of the hotel during launching phase. The aircon in my room also had adefect that made me wake up during the night multiple times. I believe that those issues have been solved by now and the hotel provides a great experience by now.

The room layout and design were awesome. Felt like a real apartment. Nice to have a full kitchen and washer/dryer. I also liked the fact that housekeeping came only once per week. The windows were huge and let in lots of light. The view of the city was great too. There were snacks and water in the lobby daily as well.

So I was disappointed when the sink didn’t provide hot water, the water in the bathroom was warmish, the disposal was broken, the HVAC made a wind down noise when it was about to shut off, gnats all over the room (I think there was rotten food in the dishwasher or disposal because they went away after I ran it. I also tried using Clorox Cleanup and ACV) and lastly, there was a mysterious banging noise that would happen once or twice every hour all day and night everyday. Sounded like a pipe in the wall. The noise from the people mover and the construction was expected from a downtown area.

Location was great in downtown Detroit, walking distance to most places we visited including ford fields stadium. Stuff was extremely helpful and assisted us from the moment we arrived until checking out.

Paying extra for parking

Fantastic stay with my family. This place has given me a reason to plan a long stay in detroit. Ben, Bri and Logan were all exceptional in attending to our every need. Thank you for a wonderful stay and I'll advise anyone to book without any hesitation. Brilliant place, absolutely brilliant!

Love this hotel- it is beautiful and in a great downtown location. We were able to walk to our event at Ford Field. There are lots of nearby restaurants too. I plan on staying here whenever I visit Detroit!
