Beautiful hotel in a perfect location for any downtown activities.

The staff was great!!! Having the restaurant was convenient and it was close to Ford Field where we were going.

Absolutely the best location to stay if you are going to any event downtown!! Fox theater was a 5 min walk, comerica Park was across the street, it was just perfect!! Beds were super comfortable, room was elegant, it was a great stay

It is pricey, but worth all the money - trust me, you won't regret it! Truly a unique and luxury experience!

Traffic in front of hotel can be insane.

The location to the concert venue could not be beat and was easy to get to. The inside was absolutely gorgeous and you really felt like you were walking and staying in history

The only drawbacks were that the bedroom in my suite didn’t have a door (although not a deal breaker) and there was a vent fan that was very loud and I couldn’t turn off. That also wasn’t a deal breaker but very annoying

The location is excellent, and the historic hotel has recently undergone a beautiful renovation. The spaces are spacious, with high ceilings, and the floors are carpet-free, which is a great advantage for those with allergies. Unfortunately, there is no breakfast room, but there is a good restaurant and a coffee shop on-site. The common areas are comfortable and elegant. The price is very reasonable.

The hotel is amazing -- our room was very comfortable and clean, and exceeded our expectations. The building itself is beautiful! Excellent vibe all around.

1) My room keycard somehow de-activated three times, so I had to go to the front desk several times to get a new keycard. 2) During the morning of my departure, I texted the valet parking number to retrieve my car. It took quite a while for them to pull my car out.

The reception to the TV was awful. However, one of your associates Damon came and fixed it right away. We had asked for another robe and never received one. We were supposed to have a surprise charcuterie board and never received one. However the front desk made it better by giving us free valet parking.

Fantastic hotel!! We always stay at Shinola Hotel and we tried Hotel David Whitney for the first time and it’s definitely my favorite hotel in Detroit. So convenient to everything. We had tickets to Sting at Fillmore Theater and it was a 3 minute walk. After the show we met many other couples that attended the concert and we had a wonderful time in the comfortable bar area/library enjoying cocktails.

We chose this hotel due to its historic nature, and the building's beauty did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for our first exploration of Detroit. The room was large and beautiful and quiet and dark and perfect. The lobby was lovely to hang out in. I would happily stay again and will recommend it to anyone.

The historical facility is amazing, the meticulously reoworked rooms kept all of the charm yet had completely modern bathrooms.

I was not able to access internet, the way the internet service was set up in the web system was too confusing to navigate to actually get online. I unfortunately had to use my own hotspot. I expect a $300 room to include internet access.

The service was 5 stars. Loved the restaurant and bar downstairs. The room was spacious, clean and amazing view. We loved our stay.

The room was the most comfortable we have experienced in our travels. Everything from the mattress, linens, furniture, and quietness. We actually wanted to stay longer but the hotel was booked full.

It’s beautiful. Desmon at the front desk is very helpful and kind. Our room was perfect. The bed was so comfortable, I slept later than usual.

Beautiful historical building and the closeness to the ballpark, the border, and freeways.

There were not many choices of restaurants and bars around the hotel.

Staying at the hotel is not just functional or practical - it becomes part of the experience of being on holiday in Detroit. It is the kind of builing you'd want to visit or wander around in when exploring the city, so being able to stay there overnight as part of a city trip is just fantastic. And as a hotel it is top notch. The corner room I had was massive, with high ceilings, and very luxurious. Given that still larger rooms are available., I suspect it would be a great hotel for a family stay. The room was also very quiet - you see the city but do not hear it at all. Check in and check out were a breeze. It is centrally located and close to public transport, so perfect as a base to explore the city.

The location is really nice. The room is spacious and clean.

The staffs are really nice and friendly except for one guy (I don't remember the name now but he's generally wearing suit and a glass). The guy is so unfriendly and not helpful at all. The bed and the pillow are quite uncomfortable. The hotel doesnt even have umbrellas for guests. When you pay that much money for one night, you would expect these small things are there for you.
