If I had one complaint it would be that the shower was a little lacking in water pressure and the water itself took a very long time to heat up.

Its gorgeous. the amount of marble is absolutely amazing! The property is absolutely beautiful.

I don’t have anything negative to say about the property at all. I enjoyed the interactions with all of the staff except for the young lady I saw around 3:00 the day I checked out. She must’ve been having a bad day but other than that the trip was an A+.

Detroit is a hidden gem for most people, but not us. My wife and I live about an hour outside Detroit, and we made this a weekend getaway. There is so much to explore and do in Detroit, if you're from outside the area you probably have no idea how awesome and cool it is! The restaurants, entertainment, culture, vibe, and history in this City are incredible. Oh, and our room's view of Comerica Park, Ford Field, the Opera House, etc. was spectacular!

They need to work on the welcome at the entrance. Having a person out on the sidewalk to greet us, get us assistance with luggage, and tell us where to go would have really helped with our first impression. We were a little uncertain about our choice, at least until we walked into the incredible lobby of this historic old building. From then on, everything was perfect!

The location is awesome when doing things downtown. The hotel is always clean and the staff is very friendly. This is one of my favorite places to stay in Detroit when going to events in the downtown area.

I thought the hotel was beautiful and there were nice touches like the coffee and tea bar. The room was well appointed. The windows were nice, but I didn't like the view.

We had an issue where the fire alarm sounded for quite some time while we were trying to rest and we were made to wait outside in freezing weather. Additionally, there were several people nearby with loud, barking dogs. Finally our room view was into other rooms which wasn't the best.

This hotel’s location couldn’t be better for literally anything. We were seeing a show at the Fox Theater, which was just a short walk down the block. Our room overlooked Comerica Park (so close we could tell you the score) and Ford Field was directly behind that. The hotel staff was super friendly and very accommodating. The room itself was very modern, and well equipped. Our only qualm was that the lights in the bathroom were real dim for makeup application and the lights elsewhere in the room were also relatively dim. This was great for ambiance and for not being visually assaulted in the morning when you turn on the lights BUT not great for smoky eye.

It's right in the heart of downtown Detroit and the building is beautifully restored with nice common areas in the lobby.

For the price of the hotel, the rooms were a lot more upscale and fancy. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the bed was amazingly comfy.

For the price, it would have made it more worth it to include breakfast, especially since there wasn't any pool etc. in an already expensive hotel, we weren't interested in spending more at the restaurant, although it did look like it had a nice menu. The only comment on the room was that for a two person booking, they only provided one robe. We thought that may have been a mistake. We had an unfortunate bad experience with valet parking. It's hard to know who is at fault, but we paid for the $48/day valet service overnight parking, and our car came back scratched up. An investigation is on going with our insurances now because it will cost us a lot to get the scratches fixed. The hotel was apologetic and got their valet manager right away. We are still waiting on a copy of their incident report and surveillance report 5 days later which I am not very impressed with, so I will be calling. I understand that it's hard to know if it was a valet driver or someone from the city that caused the damage of course, but I would like it figured out and it's just one of those unfortunate things you wish would never happen! Other than that, the stay was good!

It was in fact a beautiful property.

We checked into our room that totaled over $700 for ONE night and our sliding bathroom door was broken. They came up and looked at it and we didn’t find out until check out that they had to order a part for the sliding door. We had a group of people that couldn’t shut the BATHROOM DOOR to use the restroom or to shower and I was charged the full price nor was I given any sort of comp for the major inconvenience. I felt like that was something that could not be overlooked and needed a review.
