Beautiful historical building and the closeness to the ballpark, the border, and freeways.

There were not many choices of restaurants and bars around the hotel.

The building is amazing and so is the staff. Perfect location. We went to a concert at the Filmore and the hotel is within walking distance.

Staying at the hotel is not just functional or practical - it becomes part of the experience of being on holiday in Detroit. It is the kind of builing you'd want to visit or wander around in when exploring the city, so being able to stay there overnight as part of a city trip is just fantastic. And as a hotel it is top notch. The corner room I had was massive, with high ceilings, and very luxurious. Given that still larger rooms are available., I suspect it would be a great hotel for a family stay. The room was also very quiet - you see the city but do not hear it at all. Check in and check out were a breeze. It is centrally located and close to public transport, so perfect as a base to explore the city.

Superb experience. Staff was out of this world with accommodations. Very clean, and well kept.

The location is really nice. The room is spacious and clean.

The staffs are really nice and friendly except for one guy (I don't remember the name now but he's generally wearing suit and a glass). The guy is so unfriendly and not helpful at all. The bed and the pillow are quite uncomfortable. The hotel doesnt even have umbrellas for guests. When you pay that much money for one night, you would expect these small things are there for you.

The light switch in the coffee/wash room was. Or seperate to the bed area so you had to turn on all lights when using shower which isn’t practical when somone is sleeping

Went to a concert and it was close and convenient.

Parking was expensive but we found a metered parking spot so we saved some money.

Beds are very comfortable. The view of the city that we had was amazing. Very quite rooms, never heard any of the other guest. The lobby is one of the best in Detroit.

All Detroit hotels are overpriced and I will say this about any of them I stay in.

The location was perfect to walk around downtown and get to the Little Caesar's Arena. The hotel lobby is really impressive! Very Art Deco. The staff were really helpful.

There was no hot water in the sink of the bathroom but the shower had hot water. Our reservation was for 3 people but the breakfast only accommodated 2 people.

our room had a toilet that kept running all night, also with the windows the room got a little cool and would have been great to have a comforter or additional blanket available for the bed

I loved the look of the inside, it was very comfortable, the wifi was great. The workers were good to get along with and the coffee was amazing!

The TV keep cutting in and out, and it was really cold, that's really all.

All the persons at the Reception were very courteous. On our Check In there was some problem from our end, bur Joenee solved it and was very helpful in solving our Problem.

Rooms are cleaned every alternate day as per Hotel policy. It should be changed to every day. Breakfast options are limited for someone with a long stay.

Location was fantastic. Room was nice and contemporary. Great historic building.

No room service option was a little disappointing.

Eating facilities were limited but I think that's due more to the fact that there are so many places to eat around. I can't compliment the staff enough. Everyone was very polite and professional with a good can do attitude.

Everyone here did an amazing job! It was clean the hotel was beautiful and the food and drinks were the best.

Staff was incredible. Extremely helpful and polite

If I had one complaint it would be that the shower was a little lacking in water pressure and the water itself took a very long time to heat up.

The shower was fantastic. I love a comfortable clean HOT shower , and it was so clean . We was very satisfied and happy with our service . Front desk clerks and valet ladies was very nice as well

Its gorgeous. the amount of marble is absolutely amazing! The property is absolutely beautiful.

I don’t have anything negative to say about the property at all. I enjoyed the interactions with all of the staff except for the young lady I saw around 3:00 the day I checked out. She must’ve been having a bad day but other than that the trip was an A+.

To say we were treated well is an understatement! The Staff @ the Aloft Detroit at The David Whitney is A+! Will, “J” and Sasha in Valet are top notch! they make this Hotel the best place to stay in Detroit. I will always book here just because of those three individuals. Each one of them did small but above and beyond things for me and my 8 yr old son to make us feel so special! Bravo Aloft for having such great customer services throughout your amazing hotel staff! We randomly selected you here on Booking not knowing what to expect and because of those 3 individuals we will always stay with you.
