Royiatiko Hotel Nicosia, Cyprus

Staff were friendly and it was a great location.

The website implies it was a new hotel but it wasn't. Room was small. Furniture in room was falling apart and although it was clean you could see where the hotel needs some TLC. The cook was not available on most of the days we were there so could not get cooked eggs for breakfast apart from on the first day. Couldn't use pool until after breakfast (10am) which was too late for me as I like to have an early morning swim

All is great the staff and the location are excellent. the breakfast has a great variety and the swimming pool area is lovely

The gym opening hours are not practical. it doesn't open quite early in the morning

1- my room on 1st had a nice balcony but it opens directly on the street and parking lot so there is no privacy and it is very noisy in the evening and night. 2- furniture was old 3- daily cleaning very minimal 4- swimming pool not clean. was refilled during my stay but fallen things (leaves, stones, dust) not removed as they should have been 5- breakfast is not great. 6- booking score which is displayed at reception is more than 8 (2016). however current score which is lower

There are cockroaches in the hotel, there were no sheets in the bed, the cleaning was probably unfinished, but it is for these reasons that a good rating cannot be given. We changed the hotel, which led to financial costs, caused inconvenience.

I was hesitant whether I should mention that or not! But this to raise awareness to everyone who decided to book and pay through CC. My card was charged three consecutive times for the same booking due to miscommunication between admin staff, as a result, Now I have to wait 10 business days to get my money credited back . My suggestion to you is pay cash at the property to avoid mistakes as such.

Royiatiko is situated right in the middle of the old town. Everything is walkable, so location wise it is in a very good place. Ideal as a base to explore on foot. The breakfast staff were efficient and helpful, all the staff had a friendly demeanour. The breakfast menu was good : scrambled egg, bacon on a warmer. Croissants jams and all the cereals, juices. It's a light and bright hotel, plenty of windows, and well lit at night.

The double bed in my room was a little worn, the vinyl was worn through in places on the edges. Same for the bedside cabinets, the vinyl covering was worn through round the handles. That apart, the bathroom / shower were in good condition.

the hotel is few minutes walk from.the turkish side,near many shops and restaurants. breakfast was o.k but the variety was small staff were very friendly, especially the woman that was in the reception on the afternoon-night shift that tried to do her best to solve problems

the furnitures and the bed are very old and worn out and they need to be replaced without any further delays.. the air condition was on heat mode eventhough it was very hot outside .becuase it was impossible to cool the room it was very hot (there wasnt even a ventilation mode ) . the phone in the room was not working so every time i had a problem i had to go down to the reception. because it was so hot and uncomfortable in the room i moved to another room. this room was bigger and cooler but was facing a parking lot and a small road so it was too noisy for me to leave the window open. the paint in this room was peeld in few places ( after they got wet ) but they didn't bother fixing it and put new paint.

Noisy as bins emptied outside a few times a week.but I did have the windows open and didn’t have the aircon on. Only 5 local tv channels - surely some international sat TV would help!

Very central location for restaurants shopping and pedestrian crossing(Ledros street) for trips to Northern Cyprus; very helpful staff- housekeeping, reception and dining room; free parking, good wifi, safe in room ;pleasant surprise to see an atrium pool and exercise room in the grade of hotel

Bed and pillows was so uncomfortable.

It was quiet. Staff was very kind and helpful. The breakfast is OK.

Mattresses needs to be improved. Bigger TV screens would be nice Color of the lighting is cold, maybe a warmer choice would be better

it is too old and badly needs full refurbishment! The bed was rather uncomfortable and the bedroom floor in bad conditions. Even the bathroom was too old.

Location is great in the old city, the pool was refreshing and helped in the heat. The hotel is near by the bus station and many nice places to eat.

The breakfast was quite poor and the location of the hotel makes it quite difficult to order taxi because of the intense traffic and one way streets.

The location is excellent in the centre of the old city very close to Ledra. I got to use the pool this time and it is nice when it is 35 degrees.

During my last stay in 2019 I commented on the poor state of the beds which are too short of 21st century humans and unfortunately have not very good mattresses. I then received a great response that the review was appreciated, but nothing was done with it. The mattress was still the same and that is a pity. Sleep is important and the comfort of the bed is a main factor in judging a hotel. I hope something is done with my comment this time.

Excellent location at short walking distance from the main bus station, Elephteria Sq and Ledra Street (main commercial street). Nice leisure facilities: outdoor swimming pool and well equipped gym.

Breakfast is rather basic. The mattress of the bed was a bit outdated but strong enough for a good sleep.

Centre of Nicosia so very handy for everything.

Rooms at the front can here the trash lorries every morning at 4am.

We thought the shower facilities could be a bit more comfortable. Airconditioner could not be regulated and was very noisy.

The location of this hotel is wonderful. It is a very short walk to the central bus station, the main shopping and eating establishments, and other points of interest. The entire staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful.

The negatives of our stay at this hotel were minor issues. The room we had was small (but still a nice room overall). The door to our room took a bit of muscle to close and lock properly.

Staff were quite helpful. I liked being able to sit by the pool, even in the middle of town. The location was great for discovering Nicosia.

When I arrived (after 23:00), first my keycard didn't work, and then when I finally got into the room, it hadn't been cleaned. There was an unmade bed and towels on the floor. Breakfast was OK - nothing special. If you want to use the gym, be aware it only contains weight machines; no dumbbells or mats.

The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and accommodating.

Central location in Nicosia and still a pool and gym. Breakfast next to the pool gives holiday vibes even on a business trip.

The hotel rooms are not well maintained: the shelves in the closet and the drawers are broken. It is impossible to fall asleep because it is very noisy outside the window. Even had to change a room.

It's not very clean. A little bit dark and not very welcoming atmosphere. Pillows were old and yellowish but they were quick to give us clean ones when we asked.

You really can't beat the location, in Old Town just off the main pedestrian mall, Ledra Street. The selection of places to eat was fantastic with a range of cuisines - Middle Eastern, fantastic Chinese, wonderful Italian.. and then Burger King! Our room was small but very comfortable with a balcony (room 203) overlooking the pool courtyard area - it's the only room that does. The other rooms overlook the street so have less privacy. I would recommend staying here - just realize that it's a bit battered in places but that can be overlooked for what it has to offer.

Uncomplicated and friendly service

Staff were friendly and the hotel had all necessary facilities. Location is excellent and the parking is free.

The furniture and decor is a little tired - our shower head was broken for example, and wouldn’t stay fixed at a certain height. Breakfast was very basic too.

The location was great, close to Ledras street, the staff was also very helpful and welcoming, especially the girl at the reception. Wifi was also OK.

The facilities seem substandard, the room furniture is pretty much worn put and the overall cleanliness could be better. Also, breakfast is pretty basic. The pool area needs better maintenance and cleaning. Expensive for the service and quality provided.
