Londa Hotel Limassol, Cyprus
Originally built in the 1980s as Cyprus’s very first all-suite hotel, the Londa Hotel in Limassol has always been a bit of a trendsetter. In 2005, it underwent a massive transformation to officially become the island’s very first boutique design hotel, quickly turning into a favored chic hotspot for local socialites and traveling fashionistas alike.
The hotel’s stunning, minimalist aesthetic was brought to life by legendary Parisian interior designer Thierry Lemaire alongside the creative studio Malherbe Paris. They cleverly blended contemporary Italian style—like slick white marble accented by black wood—with rich nods to Cypriot heritage, incorporating subtle visual textures inspired by traditional local lace and antique filigree silver.
In an exciting new chapter, the iconic building has recently undergone an ultra-luxury transformation, wrapping up its evolution into an exclusive gated residential beach complex known as the Londa Residences. It preserves the classic boutique spirit and architectural charm of the original hotel, but flips the layout into premium seafront apartments complete with a private wellness spa, a pool deck, and direct access to the sandy shore.
The property sits right in the vibrant Potamos Germasogeia tourist area, making it a fantastic base for exploring the coast. If you want to dive into some serious history, the medieval Limassol Castle—where Richard the Lionheart allegedly married Berengaria of Navarre—is just a short drive away down the vibrant promenade, housing the Cyprus Medieval Museum.
For a complete change of scenery, you can easily venture out to the spectacular, ancient Greco-Roman ruins of Kourion or explore the imposing Crusader stronghold at Kolossi Castle, both of which are close enough for a quick afternoon road trip.
Expert reviews
“The island’s first couture hotel oozes casual glamour. Rooms have lashings of white linen and handcrafted Cypriot lace, contrasting cool, earthy colours and contemporary custom-made furnishings.”
“A tempting hotel option on the Limassol seafront with open vistas to the Mediterranean, an upscale spa and one of the finest Italian restaurants in Limassol, all combined with a supremely stylish décor – think chunky blond wood furniture and crystal-effect light columns.”
