Lokàl Boutique Hotel, Cyprus

The Lokàl is the example of what boutique-style hôtelerie can offer if it is done right. Perks include a central location to the marina (max. 15 min. walking distance) seamless check-in (incl. an in-room digital 'tablet' with information and for communication with the hotel), friendly staff, AMAZING comfort (super comfy mattress, pillows, bedding, italian showerhead, top air-conditioning, cosy lobby), a fresh and home-like breakfast, a snug rooftop (incl. a well-done mini-pool), etc... you get it, overall, a truly great experience and service.

For the Lokàl to achieve that 'special something' (i.e., transition from "very good" to "fabulous") status I do think it needs to fix some small details (details being where boutique-style hotels should thrive without any fault). While spacious, the rooms could offer more space between the shower and WC. Certain amenities could be improved (the in-room coffee needs an upgrade, more strategic location of the power sockets, etc...). Although the shower included a (fixed) italian showerhead, our shower was missing a flexible showerhead - this is a mistake. Every room needs to offer both, especially if the structure shows that it allows for both. Lastly, when we asked for a refill on the (fresh) orange juice during breakfast, we were softly told it was one glass per person per breakfast - this needs to be priced-in better or, given the pricing, at least some sort of -equaly fresh/quality softs -other than- coffee/water offered.

We have really enjoyed our stay. Iman will prepare you the best breakfeast in town. Every day a new and delicious breakfast. And her son will go above and beyond to assist with everything. The whole staff is very nice and helpful. Location is nice and calm, 5min walk to the beach. Small rooftop swimming pool is a plus.

Good location in the middle of Larnaca, short walk to the harbour, authentic feel with tavernas and cafe'. Nice food market on a Saturday. The lady making breakfast is lovely and ready to help with advice about the island, She is the soul of the property.

We loved this hotel. Everything was perfect and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Particularly Iman who is a great chef and made us beautiful breakfasts and Joe on reception who couldn't do enough to help us.

Everything about this place was perfect! The lovely staff, each and every one of them offered great service and help, the breakfast, the rooftop pool, the rooms were so clean and fresh smell of the sheets and towels! The location was great as well, close to the centre and shops.

Good places near to beach , Clean rooms, the staff facilities and advised as about the programming and which kind of transport batter for as, you feel comfortable when you stay there is Eman and Mohammad they were very great and I hope to them great future

Iman and the rest of the staff were extremely kind and helpful throughout the stay.

9 and not 10 as there were some missing details (like water on arrival, a micro fridge in the room, no sparkling water available), the information set on the tablet is extremely hard to read, unnecessarily complicating the experience.

Seriously a gorgeous design boutique hotel in the city center like no other. Modern, clean and comfortable room, with access to a tranquil setting of a garden. The staff were exceptional. The breakfast options, even if we did not choose it in our initial booking was simply delicious. We had the amazing rooftop pool available just for us to relax. We will definitely return to this stylish boutique hotel!!!

Amazing breakfast, great location - very close to the sea and St Lazarus Church, Larnaca's most important historical monument. Beatufully restored building with modern annexe where the bedrooms are. Really friendly staff

There's a lovely rooftop pool. The pool surroundings could be made more comfortable and hospitable but we were there in winter so maybe they do more to make that space accommodating in the Summer. A hotel bar or in-room mini bar would have added a little to our experience. But these are minor issues

Fantastic stay! We visited Lokàl Boutique Hotel for just a day, and we wish we could stay for the entire week, since we were pleasantly surprised in so many ways! Our room was of a great size, with modern amenities, hot water throughout the day and very clean. The staff were knowledgeable and happy to support us with our requests. The design of these two buildings is just great - it’s an amazing project preserving the old next to the new - very rare found in Cyprus and such an architectural gem for Larnaca. We would recommend this place for couples & friends. We will definitely be back.

The best location. The staff is lovely. The building itself and the interior design is impressive. Good breakfast served personally. Perfectly clean. Quiet.

Unfortunately the rooms are not as equipped as expected from this level of hotel. Everything is new and very clean, but extremely minimalistic, no coffee machine, no mini bar or fridge.

The location as it was in a quiet area but only 10 mins walk to the sea. It was a beautiful old building with lots of interesting characteristics.

The friendly staff, the comfortable room and excellent location. Located in a walking distance from main attractions. Decorated lobby and rooms. Exit to a wonderful garden with nice table and seats. High quality service and bath products. We haven't had the chance to use the swimming pool.

The breakfast was a delight. Every morning they has prepared something new and tasty. The hotel was perfectly located in the old town, just down the street off the most touristy places to gather.

The infinity pool and patio on the roof were very nice and relaxing. The rooms are spacious, bed is comfortable, and good quality showers. Staff are very friendly and happy to help with anything they can to help you enjoy your stay.

The breakfast was not to my personal taste, but others seemed fine with it. The type of food and variety were a bit simple and more reflective of a complimentary breakfast. Not worth the 12 euro per person. This is my only negative feedback. The rest of the hotel was excellent, and the staff were great!

Excellent staff, very helpful, especially the young girl - she helped to find a motorbike to rent and to book transport tickets, finding the most convenient and best options. Delicious breakfast. Location also very good, 5 min on foot to the sea and the centre

Photo's are very well taken to make the room look bigger. "Patio" in description sort of suggested the room had a private balcony/ patio which it didn't but the pool area made up for this. The rule they try to impose that you cannot bring in any of your own food or drink

Some things in the room needed fixing

The staff was very kind and helpful. The location is perfect and the hotel is lovely.

I liked everything, the only thing that should be fix is the water in the shower, that runs out from the shower.

I picked the hotel because of Adults only. I was alone and wanted a calm experience in the public areas. The room was stylish and minimalistic. Very cool with the free standing bath tub in the corner. The roof top pool was a big plus, always nice to chill down after walking around in the heat. The breakfast was exquisite and enough.

The team at the hotel was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I had requested a room with access to balcony at the time of booking but when I found the room itself to be very small and crammed, they were very quick to move me to a more spacious room on the ground floor in the newly built part. The room was clean, the bed comfy and the AC worked well. Breakfast was not huge with lots of options but very well thought through and nicely presented and tasty. Although the hotel doesn't serve food outside breakfast, you can order delivery and drinks can be ordered from the reception. Overall, the hotel is nice and cozy.

The electronic system of controlling lights and curtains doesn't really work that well and becomes more of a hassle than convenience. The pool area is not so well maintained.

The privacy and location was excelent- Pretty much in the heart of Cyprus which allow us to rent a car and travel all beautifull places this island can offer. Only very few rooms in this small and cozy hotel gave us beautifull privacy which felt like we had all hotel for our own. pool area was always available and we never needed to sahare the area even for morning / evening swims. + Staff always very nice and helpfull.

I wouldnt say we did not like it but only minus was bathroom. Basically with open-spaced shower, water was running everywhere. luckly - great cleaning stuff saved us every morning :)

Nice place, centrally located, offering a cosy and silent room, and also a small but refreshing pool on the roof (with a view on surroundings).

This boutique hotel is ideal. Modern, fresh, clean and comfortable room with door opening to patio garden with lounge chair to read and sip an evening cocktail. The staff were exceptional. The breakfast exceptional. The location ideal. Just minutes from the beach with access to kayak rental and water skiing. I had the amazing rooftop pool available to myself for magical escapism, peacefulness and tranquility. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Larnaca ❤️

The use of a tablet for the lighting, curtains and safe deposit bows was totally unnecessary and most often annoying. At 2AM, I woke up my girlfriend while trying to walk quietly to the bathroom and passing a sensor which turned on lights in the room. Too much automation!

Charming small hotel in the old city, just a few blocks from the seafront, on a very quiet street. Personnel were all very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast each morning. The room, while comfortable, is basic and would benefit from the addition of few extra touches. A small bar fridge for water, power points beside the bed and mirror, and coffee and tea making facilities would make all the difference. Like most establishments in Greece, the shower was prone to flooding! If only the fall on the shower floor went in the right direction….. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would certainly return if the additions I suggested were made.

We did not like the breakfast which was very limited. Other boutique balloons we were given a menu from which we could choose. We were very lacking in vegetables and cheeses.

The hotel is well-decorated, and the room was spacious and comfy. The staff was very nice and helpful. They helped us understand our parking options and booked us a table in local restaurants even before our arrival. Breakfast was delicious. The location is on a charming and quiet street in the heart of the old city. We enjoyed our stay and will be happy to stay again on our next visit to Larnaca.

The only reason for not giving our stay a full 10 is the lukewarm water in the shower. I like a hot shower and I can take a shower in lukewarm water, but it's not a shower I can fully enjoy. I'm writing it in the hope it will come to the Hotel attention so it will be better when we come to stay again in the future.
