Everything was perfect, this is the best hotel in the city by far 🙌 with an excellent value for money

A small table with a chair on the balcony would have been appreciated to watch the beautiful sunset.

As usual, the GDM is a stunning hotel. I love the rooftop, the pool, the service, and the workout space.

In comparison to several other places I have stayed in Heraklion, the room is in need of updates. I would expect a five star hotel to be in this process.

The laundry service pricing is absurd. Find a new service that will do a whole bag for 15 euro like everywhere else in Greece.

The breakfast is good with different varieties and good coffee. Good size room with comfortable bed and pillow. Location is about 15 minutes' walk to the old town pedestrian area, where there are many shops and restaurants. But along the way, there are also some restaurants locally. The Front desk staff Effie and Vicky are very friendly and helpful. The bus downstair go directly to the Knossos. palace Just buy the round-trip ticket by the machine. The Bus also pass-by the museum in town on the way back. The Hotel also arrange transfer to the airport.

Depending when, the port area is always windy.

The staff were amazingly helpful and welcoming and the hotel was chic and immaculate.

It is under the flight path of the airport, and parking is a nightmare. There is a car park on the opposite side of a very busy main road where they take your money first to enter, regardless of whether there is a parking space - which there wasn’t!!

The staff were wonderful. The location is perfect to walk to town, museums, the harbor. The wrap around balcony on our top floor room with a stunning view of the ocean was fabulous. The rooftop restaurant was a delight.

The room and bathtub/shower were narrow.

The property was perfect. It is in a stunningly beautiful building in a great location. Staff was very attentive to anything we needed. The rooftop pool and restaurant were beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. The restaurant staff took care of anything we needed very quickly. The room itself was beautifully decorated. It had high ceilings, a comfortable bed, great air conditioning, and a hot shower. The room was very quiet, and I got a great sleep here. The breakfast was perfect. There were so many options, hot food like bacon, eggs, all types of pastries, and a section of cold foods like cheeses, yogurt, and all types of fruits. There were also a lot of Cretan specialties. I really enjoyed talking to the staff member at breakfast who took the time to explain what all the Cretan foods were. The property is great value for the money. You get a truly five star experience!

Lovely well located and well furnished/appointed hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great facilities unfortunately wasn't there long enough to use the pool or gym. Overall very happy with my stay but there are a few things I have noted which were not up to the standard of such a hotel.

My room key stopped working twice. Staff explained it was due to mobile phone proximity. However, the second time it had not been anywhere near my phone. So I suspect the card system is somehow not as good as many other hotels. Also when I went for a coffee mid afternoon on the terrace, there was only one staff member there and several people were waiting for lunch and it took so long I left. No real drama for me but I realised also the people would be waiting for their lunch for a long time; and felt sorry for the staff member. Last thing was the noise from other rooms at night. I was surprised how the noise from other people and doors opening and closing was quite noticeable in my room. It didn't keep me awake so not a huge issue, just surprising for a hotel of this standard.

I only stayed one short night unfortunately but I loved everything about it. The room was lovely and super spacious, very clean. Everyone was super friendly, breakfast amazing as well. I wish I could have stayed longer

The hotel brings out a luxurious character from a previous era but unlike many of its peers it's very well maintained and conditioned making it a classic. Comfortable and huge beds. Great location next to the sea, port and city centre.

The parking space is relatively small and gets overcrowded easily. Also the way you enter and exit it, is somewhat old-fashioned and impractical because you always have to ring a bell and wait for the receptionist response to raise the bar.

Very close to the port and lovely property! The rooftop pool was a nice touch. There is also a restaurant up on the roof as well.

It’s located walking distance from ferry landing. If you are driving there is parking space in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful to our questions. Close to the Archaeological museum and city center. The room was silent in spite of facing the street.

Great hotel close to everything!! The rooms were amazing and comfortable. The hotel accommodated our request to have the 2 rooms close to each other. The ceieling was so high that it made the room seem even bigger. The balcony was great!

Would have preferred a shower as opposed to a tub but this is just a minor detail. The only other call out is, it would be nice to have a chair and a table in the balcony.

An outstanding place to stay. All staff were friendly and professional delivering an excellent service. The breakfast was diverse and delicious. Treat yourself. Hotels don’t get better than the Megaron.

Location is about a 15-minute walk from the shops. But its not like the hotel can be moved so it is a minor concern.

Ideal location near both the ferry port and Archeological Museum made this a win for us, plus it was cozy and upscale without being stuffy. We loved having drinks at the outside bar - even with the wind!

Had a little issue with our in room air conditioning. Also tv volume set way too low - if husband turned in bed it drowned the sound out

The breakfast is exquisite and Irini is an exceptional host. Service across the board was gracious, thoughtful and accommodating. The physical spaces of the hotel are elegant, intelligently designed, and have a wonderful attention to detail

I wish the shower door could fully close, so that I didn't get the bathroom wet. Door stops would also be useful so that the balcony doors can both be held open

The hotel is a grand old hotel style. The check in process was very quick and we handed over our rental car keys to the Check-in Manager. The rental car company came in the evening to pick up the car and that process went smoothly. The main reason for choosing this hotel for one night was its location to the ferry lines. It was a 5-10 minute walk across the street to pick up the ferry. That was great.

Too few outlets in the room to plug in and charge our phones.

The breakfast was exceptional with excellent staff and service. The pool area was very well designed and the public areas were sophisitcated and comfortable. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful.

We observed that the prices of the wines in the restaurant were extremely expensive. This deterred us from eating at the restaurant. Perhaps some cheaper options might be considered for the future.

Staff, room, and view from it. The location was excellent, close to the bus station, local bus to Knossos, and museum. And the earthquake didn't even knock over a glass...

We enjoyed the 5th floor Bar / Restaurant very much. Nice to have a convenient place with a lovely view of the sea and city. The breakfast in The Plaza Cafe was excellent with may choices and great service. The Desk Clerk arranged our tour to Knossos with an excellent guide. They were always available for any question.

First we LOVED breakfast! I've never seen such a spread in my life and it was such a great way to try Greek foods when we first arrived. The room was large, quiet, and comfortable. There were slippers and robes. We had a beautiful view of the harbor and could walk for 5-10 minutes and be in the main square.
