Generator Hostel, Copenhagen

A lot of improvement from 2019 when last time I was here , management invested a lot to offer ensuite bathroom which before wasn't ... Beds are new mantras comfortable two working sockets by each bed .... Clean and comfortable for the price and location I strongly recommend it's worth it. P.S the elevator needs a bit of improvement as it's so slow but I hope that will be also upgraded soon 👍💯 well done to management to improve so well this place!

Amazing location. We stayed at an en-suite rooms. It was clean and basic. We could get daily towels from the reception.

The accommodation offers both shared dormitories and en- suite rooms, it gets very vibrant during the day and if guests are not respectful can get loud. Lucky enough our room was more isolated but if you are a light sleeper try to request a more quiet room.

Comfortable rooms

Not very social, the only common area is a public bar where people mostly stay in group. I found it quite hard to meet people even though I'm a quite social person. There were only 2 toilets for our floor of 5-6 dorms and one of them was constantly broken.

Bathroom is super small, there could be separator between shower and the toilet.

It has a really nice terrace. The location is very central.

It was quite stuffy and either we were cold because the windows were open or we could nor breath well. Some people struggled with their big amounts of luggage which ended up being in the middle of the room. Very unfortunately treated by a staff member after I tried to go to the bathroom in the common area before I checked out very early in the morning. The guy was not kind at all and stopped me from going to the bath room. Otherwise the hostel is not really personal, it can feel quite distanced.

I liked the beds and the good flatmates i had. Made a lot of new friends from all around the world. The rooms were nice and clean.

There is no kitchen. I feel like the hostel community and the whole point is to travel and using hostels is to stay on a budget. This also means using kitchen and cooking yourself.

Great location, close to almost everything... we did part of the itinerary on foot.

Noise outside because our window faced the construction site next door. The pillows could be better and the bathroom was definitely bad. For the price you pay, it could be a little better.

The room was small as well as the bathroom. We stayed 2 nights and there were only 2 body towels. While there were none for the face. Instead they offered extra towels for a fee, which is the first time I've seen this in a hotel. The rooms were a bit noisy, you could hear the noises of the neighbors. The elevator was terrible and took a long time since we were on the 6th floor.There was also no rack for clothes, so we had to hang them one on top of the other.

1. They forgot to provide a hairdryer in the room. 2. They didn't proactively replace towels. 3. They didn't pick up the trash. 4. There's a bar downstairs, so it was quite noisy.

Honestly everything was really goos except bad or no AC situation

For whatever reason there was no AC in the unit. It was chilly outside but when there are 6 people in the room you have to open a window to let fresh air in but it's not enough at times

Location is amazing, right in the heart of Copenhagen. The staff is amazing they always answered our questions with a smile on their faces. My dad didn't feel comfortable with his pillow and they provided an extra one like in less than 1 minute.

I stayed in Generator Stockholm twice before and and when I saw there was also a Generator in Copenhagen I didn't even look for other hotels but unfortunately compared to Generator Stockholm, Generator Copenhagen generally felt more disappointing. I can't say one thing was awful, everything was decent, but the hotel feels very pricey in exchange of what you get.

My first hostel experience ever and it was great. Check-in was super easy, and every interaction with the staff was fun and friendly. The restaurant food was tasty, the drinks were a vibe, and the staff made everything better. There were lots of activities for groups and solo travelers, but since I was only staying one night, I’ll try them next time.

Only small downside was the elevator, I injured my foot so waiting felt extra annoying haha.

We got a twin room instead of mixed room dormitories. I really appreciate it, it was cool.

We asked somebody from the staff to help us open the door and he just sayd no, go to the reception. Okay, I went there and then he sayd that i need to push hard, i sayd that we tried for many times and only then, it looked like unwillingly he came and pushed the door very hard. The window was open so it was difficult. We didn't know and didn't want to break anything. There was also trash all over the floor of the elevator. And the teenagers were playing with the elevator and later, making noise by the windows.

Nice location- close to a busy part of town with a few grocery stores close by.

The room is quite small - Copenhagen in general is expensive so not great for value for money but that is true of any accommodation in Copenhagen.

Great location. Bed was comfortable. For a hostel, it was fine.

Thought I was booking a hotel. Rooms were adequate, but sparse. One towel per person. Loud (even for a hostel), but luckily the 10 quiet hours were strictly observed.

Grey corridors. Very worn out corridor carpets. Double bed squeezed into room without space to sides. Window stuck open. Very hard beds.

The room was small even if called “superior king”. The walls were not clean, the corridors either. It would be ok for a lower price

Poor pillows on bed which made sleeping uncomfortable. Hotel was hot so needed to open windows which made it noisy at night. Would have liked a kettle in room to make a drink.

The location of the hotel is really very good, in the city center, next to Metro station, next to supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries ... recommend it. The room was small, but it was clean.

The location is excellent. Easy to get to from the airport and close to the main attractions.

There’s a bar downstairs and the rooms are not sound proof so you can hear the noises till late at night. Also, no utilities in the room and you have to pay for everything from the towels to the luggage storing.

The hostel was surprisingly quiet - I didn't hear anything coming from neighbouring rooms. The room was equipped in a hairdryer which was also a nice surprise. If you forget something it's cheap to get towels/earplugs etc.

The sink is in the room, not the toilet - whoever uses it makes noise. I recommend wearing earplugs and/or an eye mask. There was no shelf for cosmetics in the shower.

It's close to many tourist attractions. The bed was quite comfortable to sleep in.

It's a bit of a walk from the S-Bahn/Metro, especially if you have luggage. It’s noisy at night from downstairs if you open the window, since there was no AC in the room. The room doesn’t get fresh air unless you open the window.

Friendly attentive staff on arrival. Reception is 24 hours which is reassuring, particularly if you're travelling alone. Nice clean rooms. Excellent central location.

Expensive for hostel. Breakfast not included. There's a bar and games area downstairs so depending on where your room is it can be a little loud. Lift to the higher floor takes ages to arrive so you end up walking multiple flights of stairs.

It was my first time staying in a hostel, so I have nothing to compare it to. In my opinion, the stay was OK but nothing special, except for the location. The location is fantastic, and that's why I would recommend it to everyone. I stayed in a female room, and as for the room, I think it could be a little cleaner and tidier. I didn't use some of the additional facilities in the hostel because everything outside was too interesting for me. I want to mention that they have the option to leave things in lockers after check-out, which you can lock and pay for.

I think the cleanliness should be on a higher level; in general, the building has limited natural light and is not well-ventilated. I was bothered by the fact that when I enter, I feel stuffy inside. The rooms do not have air conditioning, only small fans.

The size of the room were smaller than a typical 6 bed dorm that there was not enough space between beds to put any sort of bags or belonging

Really good convenient location, central to everything, and close to several train stations. Easy check-in and check-out. There are a lot of great restaurants and bakery shops close by. We walked everywhere.

The room we stayed was facing a very busy street, where the construction was happening, starting 7am. Considering there are also bars and restaurants on the corner, that had people yelling long until after midnight, some nights were challenging, especially when it was hot, and the windows were open.

The washbasin is in the multi-person room, which is inconvenient to wash up late or early.

Great central location (near the beautiful Nyhavn) and a lively, social vibe, with friendly staff and plenty of communal areas.

The sink is inside the dorm room, which can be awkward, and noise from the terrace carries into nearby rooms.

Location is perfect, staff friendly

The music from the party on Friday night was very loud. Breakfast was mediocre but it was good price for Copenhagen

Very convenient location, close to the metro that offers direct connection to the airport. Pleasant crowd of international travelers.

We are a family with two young kids. Probably this was not the best choice. The services are very basic and pretty much everything is an extra to be paid for, including luggage storage after checkout. The rooms don’t have a/c, which is probably not usually a problem, but we had a couple of warmer-than-usual nights and a/c would have been pleasant. We were attracted to the hotel also because we saw on the website that there were many games, like pool and shuffleboard, which we thought the kids would enjoy. But for these amenities, too, you have to pay for. So not really good value for money, for what we were looking for.

One of the bartenders treated me with an attitude that I was not very comfortable. Her attitude was a lot more pleasant when she was serving a white guy before me.
