Room was great and VERY comfortable bed and linens. Also the room was very quiet.

No restaurant or bar.

Location in downtown was perfect, near the lake and great restaurants right across the street. Cool decor.

The location is excellent for walking to Michigan Ave. and the lakefront. The Metra stop is a longer walk, but not bad. We had a double room, #614, with lake views and windows on two sides. It made for a great stay for me and my daughter.

Property did not inform us that the bar and restaurant were under renovation until the day after that I could cancel reservations for free! They did give a fifty dollar credit but over charge me for the stay and had to call to straighten it out! Clerk told me that recreation center was on the 4th floor but didn’t look like I needed to know that because of my physical condition??? WTF really!!! Pets are allowed. Beds were comfortable but short and my feet hung off the bed, $1,200.00 for Two nights ouch!

The location was ideal. Close to great restaurants and shopping. The room and lobby were welcoming and beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I absolutely loved Alex at the front desk. He was attentive and kind enought to search dinner locations for us. The room was spacious and quiet. I felt very safe in and around the hotel. TAHE VIEW was amazing of the lake.

Although I was grateful, I did not like having to stay in a double room when I reserved a King room. There was no microwaves or refrigerator in the room, that was disappointing. The bath tub was difficult to drain. The parking rate of $75 a night was horrible, but it's downtown so it was expected. Even with those minor concerns we enjoyed the stay and the staff. I would stay there again.

I love this property. I have stayed over 10 times here and love the location.

No where in booking or their website they said that the bar area was under construction. I love meeting up with my friends at that bar. That was the main purpose of booking this hotel.

Everything about Thompson Chicago is perfect from arrival and being greeted to departure and saying goodbye. Rooms are immaculate, location is amazing and staff goes above and beyond. I wont be staying anywhere else when I return to Chicago. Bravo!

We did not have breakfast. The view from our room was nice. We could see Lake Michigan. Elevator was fast. Lobby was pleasant with a very friendly staff. And I loved the personalized welcome with my name on the TV.

The only complaint about the stay is something that you can't do anything about. 💯 rain on our Friday stay. Like I said. You guys can't fix that. Lol

Food at the restaurant was very bad. Soup was salty, cauliflower overcooked. Staff members and front of house very kind and polite . I think they are about to close it down. Once they open the new restaurant, I will give it a chance.

One piece of furniture was cracked or broken. There are no vending machines for small snacks ect.

The room views were great. The room and bathroom were super nice, clean, and comfortable. Fantastic bathtub. The whole hotel was so cozy. I'd definitely book there again.

We had a big hiccup with our air bnb and last minute had to change locations for our entire family but upon arrival the staff was incredibly professional and so helpful. They made our last couple days in Chicago a dream. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Breakfast at the Nico restaurant was sub-par. Food was not the best quality, staff was helpful and kind but for an $18 eggs dish I expected fresher eggs, potatoes, general quality for the price I was paying.

I paid for a suite and got some bs room. They stated the reason for this room was that booking.com does not verify the room I chose. I don’t think that’s fair because I paid for a bigger room and what I got WAS NOT COMPARABLE FOR 415 darn dollars!! Disappointed

Since Hyatt bought this boutique hotel, they now charge $50 for early check-in (what??) and they no longer have coffee in the lobby in the morning. That was disappointing as we have stayed here many times. It doesn’t quite feel like a boutique hotel anymore.

The Thompson was recommended by a friend and we were happy we followed his lead. The location was brilliant, one block off Lake Michigan and Mag Mile. Bus stop nearby, Red line two/three blocks away. The room was generous, the interior modern. Really great bathroom. The staff was very friendly.

With the price of one nights stay, beds should be minimally Queen size. Over $500 night for two full-size beds.
