Very good location, helpful stuff, delicious breakfast and very comfortable place

One thing I didn’t like that there is no AC in the mixed dorm 3 bed.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The staff was dedicated, kind, and super ready to help you in any way you might need, going way above and beyond what they are required to do. Facilities are great, as are the common areas. Really nice communal breakfast. There is a business area where you can go for work calls/quiet time. Loved this place, and especially the people.

My only complaint would be the locks/codes for the doors, which frequently stuck and were a bit hard to remember. They could use an update to something easier and more practical, perhaps

Everything! Best hostel that we’ve ever stayed at. We had our own room and bathroom. Such nice decor. Friendly staff. Amazing breakfast and excellent location! We will recommend to friends and family back home.

Lovely warm welcome. Bottle of wine on the bed was a lovely touch. Bathroom was clean and the shower good. Nice honesty bar. Good breakfast. Great location - especially late at night as Ubers are plentiful.

I had a cultural shock when I found myself in a mixed dorm. I found myself with 2 ladies in a room, to my suprise they were comfortable. I thought it was just a dorm where same sex would be. For the novice, mixed should be explained--male and female combined

Fantastic location with really good facilities. Loved the breakfast options and make your own eggs. The staff are super friendly and really helpful. Also they organise hotel activities and evenings which are open to all and great fun!

The staff, the accommodations, the tours that they offer. I loved that there is a heater in the mattress, it helped a lot!!

The shower sometimes takes a while to heat up. But overall I liked everything.

Rooms got a bit cold in the mornings and at night occasionally. But I also forgot to ask what to do about it, cos it wasn’t that much of inconvenience.

I liked the breakfast they provided

I didn’t liked that they dont provide hot water in the wash basin for handwash.

Customer service by Joclene was extremely professional and she made sure i was very comfortable.

Your drains need to be deodorized, please consider buying a drain cleaner. There was a bad smell in the bathroom. Also please add tomatoes to your breakfast, at least.

Great place ! Very comfy beds, nice decoration, super clean… location is great to explore the city easily. But the best at The BIG is the staff ! Amazingly friendly and helpful, they made sure our stay was the most comfortable and best possible :)

Great location near the Waterfront, good breakfast with delicious bread and cereals and a heating blanket in the beds. The breakfast is very intimate, it's just one table, so you will likely end up talking to other guests or the hotel staff.

The shower was not always hot. The room is a bit small.

Everything was perfect and exceeding our expectations. The staff was super friendly, fun and helpful. The breakfast was varied and delicious. The place is very cozy and very clean. The people from the hostel also organize fun activities during some evenings which we gladly took part in!

I loved that the staff were all super warm and so generous with their time and assistance. The vibes of the place was energetic and the interior design was so simple yet creative and clean. Also there were guests from all over the world and the morning breakfast setup helps you build relationships. I really loved every minutes of it, it was so unique and I can’t keep pinning on the staff and how lovely and helpful and clean the place is.

Staff is amazing, the house is comfy and complete and is located in the middle of everything I wanted to do in Capetown!

Excellent location in a quiet area but close to the Waterfront and Downtown. Very helpful staff who assisted in booking us various high quality tours. Breakfast was really good for setting you up for the day and the room was spacious and spotless. Generally a really nice vibe about the place. Would 100% recommend

Everything The Big exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was always fresh and delicious, our private room was more than adequate and the location was perfect! It was so fun the meet other travelers visiting Cape Town and being able to make connections and go visiting together!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff is very kind and always helpful. There is limited parking on site but there were always spots free when we needed one. We can very much recommend staying at The BIG and will definitely come back.

The gap in the door was rather large (light and noise from the corridor leaks into the room)

A healthy breakfast was provided. As a late sleeper, I wish breakfast hours could be extended to 11 AM. They held different events on different days and evenings. Could consider staying longer for those perks. Our room was big with a private bath. Although we didn't use the pool, it was an added feature and provided an outdoor area for reading or whatever. Very quiet location. Fenced parking. Felt safe.

My daughter was on a walker and we hoped for no steps, but we had some to negotiate. We didn't question the assigned room as it was comfortable with the private bath.
