French owners and artists, Mélodie and Maxime, fell in love with the property, saved it from being demolished by developers, and lovingly transformed it themselves.
The couple bypassed traditional interior designers, choosing instead to blend their French roots with local South African flair. They filled the rooms with repurposed structural materials, quirky local artworks, and luxurious French linens hand-embroidered by Mélodie’s family. The guest house actually takes its name from the lush, ancient pomegranate trees that shade its hidden courtyard garden.
The property sits just off trendy Kloof Street, placing you a brief walk from the colorful historic houses of the Bo-Kaap district. Major cultural landmarks like the Iziko South African Museum and the Planetarium are practically on your doorstep.
