Nice rooms connecting creating a perfect family space

Location is very central which makes it a great point to discover the city but view not great

The location of this hotel is perfect if you want to be in the inner city. The room was spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. I love the huge bath they have in the spacious bathroom. The double glasing works very well at keeping the noise out, so you do not hear the sounds of the city all around you. The breakfast that was included in our package was superb. The restaurant at the bottom, Thirty Ate, has a lovely menu, and their food is very tasty with very healthy portions. The cappuccino and Chai.latte were very good. I personally love the old elevator. I love the look, and it works very well.

There is some maintenance around the hotel that needs to be completed. Our door looked like it had been forced open before that needed some more work. Parking is a problem, so book it in advance. A boutique hotel really should provide more and better coffee in the room. Consider a small coffee maker with capsules.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is also beautifully decorated- making for good selfie/photo moments. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly visit again.

The noise from the street was pretty bad if you have a street-facing room as we did. There must be a nearby bar that pumped load music late into the night.

Very small rooms

Lovely hotel, clean with good sized rooms and perfectly located if you want to be in the CBD.

Noise at night during sleeping hours. Property adversed parking but this came at a cost of R100

Loved the vibe and complete different experience from ordinary accommodation.

There is not sufficient parking (and very expensive). I had a small Venter trailer and had to pay extra R100.00 for the trailer as well. Parking lot smells like dumpster.

I’m a lift technician and really enjoyed using their vintage, timeless lift.

The idea of having a sky bar and accomodation on the same floor not ideal as it forced to close early.

Unique experience. Loved the rooftop area and sleeping on the roof in an airstream in the CBD of Cape Town. Also loved the dinner theatre show in the hotel.

The Airstreams need a little TLC. They've obviously been there a while and a few items are coming loose or need attention.

The fact that the lifts was working, there was issues with parking even tho we arranged to have parking.

Very lovely room itself, clean and well presented. A nice vibe in the hotel, fun and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast choice was varied and tasty. Recommend a stay!

Only thing was really didn't like being in a room with no natural light through the windows (due to them opening out to a inner walled area, covered up above). We were not able to change rooms as there were no other ones available which is fair enough. Luckily we were out all day most days, but might be worth just requesting a room with natural light if that is something that bothers you.

Aircon broken, never got fixed. Breakfast not the best

Quirky and fun. Very comfortable with the oldest lift in Capetown (which broke down a couple of times). Rooftop bar was fun with Slipstream caravans to stay in and Alice theatre restaurant was a great surprise with an adults version of Alice in Wonderland during a set menu dinner. Wish we had longer there to enjoy it.

Lift breaking down was a bit of an inconvenience but the porters did a great job of getting our bags downstairs for us. Only 3 floors so not too much of a climb.

Braekfast was good. Location was good.

There was a private bday Party on the rooftop so we were not able to use it. Our Car was parked from the Staff away from the hotel and on our departure day we needed to walk around the streets in Order to find it.

This hotel is great and the staff is helpful. Also, their breakfast exceeded my expectations. So good!! Will definitely return!

Friendly attentive staff, quirky funky artistic atmosphere. Airstream trailers on rooftop still the coolest thing ever. Nice touches in our airstream trailer for a special occasion. Thank you!

Sadly, things seemed a bit rundown, broken blinds, lift not working, dirty menus, dirty cutlery, dirty carpets, same music on repeat etc. Time for a refresh?

The staff are superb, kind, helpful, fun, happy to talk if you want to. Common areas of the hotel are really lovely. Breakfast was great.

The room itself needs some love. 314 has no outside view and whilst I am sure This is reflected in the price it still isn’t ‘budget’ . This isn’t made clear on booking (if it was I would have taken a different option). To be in a darkened room with SA weather is v sad. Several issues with the bathroom too unfortunately.

Friendly staff, hotel situated jn the heart of Cape Town (good location), very good breakfast, neat rooms, good clean linen, good beds and pillows, the architecture of the building is beautiful, the rooftop views are stunning, the old escalator still in good working order

The international plug in my room burned out my GHD hairdryer within a second of switching it on , it was reported to staff but no feedback, bathroom of room 207 needs a paint as there are some rusty areas on wall, shower has lots of grime (needs a proper clean), no proper tv channels, no remote to work the tv’s airconditioning in rooms barely cooling the rooms, carpets in hotel need to be replaced (looks old and full of old marks)

Staff were lovely and really helpful and hotel itself was great and food was excellent in the bar/coffee shop area. Requested a superior room but the hotel booked us into an airstream trailer on the rooftop terrace on a decked area (one of 7) which was quirky but small. There are stairs up to them once out of the lift so not good for anyone with mobility issues

The breakfast is excellent! The trailers are cozy, and the location was perfect for where we needed to be.

The trailer does not have any windows you can open, so you have to have the aircon on 24/7, which I don't like so much. The bed was a bit small for my partner and I, but that was expected due to the narrow width of the trailer.

We enjoyed the smiling and thoughtful staff ! They were very professionnal. We also appreciated the spacious room and breakfast was absolutely perfect.

They had a private function at the bar on the first night and it was noisy in our room.

Breakfast was lovely. Above everything else we were v thankful to hotel for the time given in getting the safe in our room opened when the master key could not be located.

We had an airstream trailer on the roof area. There is a bar there and a covered area with couches and tables. Very nice in the evening. The restaurant was very good also, we had breakfast there each morning. Hotel is located in the center of the historic section. Walking is safe during day but we took Uber during the evening

Everything was to our liking. No cons

Breakfast was incredible. Staff are some of the loveliest that I have come across in the hotel industry - especially Presley! Massive shout out to him.

Bathroom was exceptionally clean but bath flooded the room so there are some things that may need updating. Location is in CBD. Not a great place to walk around outside at night but nobody walks and Uber is the way to go, so it didn’t affect us at all, just something to perhaps be aware of.

I loved the charm of the old building and styling of the caravans

Lack of a drop off area for a car to drop and off load or visa versa. Felt quite vulnerable on a busy road.

The facilities in the bathrooms need maintenance and upgrading. There were holes in the walls and broken, chipped faucets. Very dirty skirtings and carpets were not particularly clean.

I cannot wait to see the new breakfast room! "Alice in wonderland" The decor, breakfast en exceptionally friendly staff.

Really unique! Airstream trailers are great - won’t recommend it for longer than 2 nights though, it is obviously quote small. Awesome experience!

Our door was literally 3 meters from the communal seating area where a group of tourists partied till late so it was very noisy

Staff was very very much kind and helpfull with us.

The first airstream we were offered was too small and located next to the Sky bar, the next one wasn’t much bigger but did have a small inside bathroom - I think the biggest issues were there was no entertainment on the roof other than background music from the bar, no DJ or film night

The staff were lovely, the rooftop bar is great, bed big and comfortable, nice breakfast. Decent value for money.

The hotel is a bit dated and grubby, for example leaking shower door, unwieldy furniture, loud humming minibar..that kind of thing. Not enough to put us off staying again, but it’s really not on par with other 4* hotels.
