The hotel is a very beautiful and well-preserved historic building. The position is walking distance to the convention centre and the waterfront area. The staff is super friendly and always available for helping. It was a great stay in this hotel.

I didn’t like the broken front steps and missing slate tiles.

Quality of the building, the decor, staff, cleanliness and local art work was far above expectations. Breakfast served in the courtyard, a private sauna and hidden gem of a rooftop to soak up some rays! Location is the best spot in Cape Town.

The only negative might be that you’re above a courtyard which has a bar, but it is bouji, not rowdy and stops at 11pm.

Centrally located in an area that felt safe. There is a lovely courtyard at the back of the hotel which was nice for breakfast or a drink or light meal later. There are also plenty of other places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk. The staff were without exception friendly and helpful. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable. There was some minor noise from the road, not too bad.

An old world hotel which was beautifully presented by very helpful staff. The hotel has a lovely courtyard restaurant and another great restaurant the Bouchon Bistro around the corner.

The historic hotel has large and beautifully furnished rooms. The housekeeping dept actually does it job and thoroughly cleans your room daily. The entire staff are very professional.

I liked everything.

1) Super friendly and helpful staff 2) Artsy, funky decoration and interior 3) Location is quite central with a fair amount of cafe's and restaurants around and the two tourist bus lines just two blocks away. It's not a particularly pretty part of town, but it is a useful homebase for exploring it. Perfect for those who are a bit tired of hotel chains. This one has plenty of charm and character. We'll remember it fondly.

Some people online complained about noise as there is a restaurant right outside of the window. However, we had absolutely no issues with that, as it was too cool at the time of our stay for people to sit outside. Still, if you arrive during high season, you may want to consider a room that isn't close to that area.

The location on Bree Street is great, very central to the CBD and many tourist attractions and Bree Street is lined with many fabulous restaurants. The staff at the hotel are fantastic, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The building is a very atmospheric historic property, beautifully maintained and spacious. The breakfasts are wonderful.

A minor quibble…don’t like showers above the baths

The size and interior design and decor of our bedroom. The staff are the very best. The welcome bottle of champagne as this was our honeymoon. The huge comfortable bed. The location is perfect. The excellent breakfast cooked to order each morning

Beautiful old building with every room different. My room was so comfortable with a luxurious bathroom. Perfect location for restaurants, bars and seeing the old town. All the staff were so friendly and helpful.

My room just looked into a wall (though I guess that made it quieter than being on the street side). Because it is so old, the doors didn’t fit snugly in the frame and light from the hallway poured in making the room too light at night.

Great service before, during, and after the stay, and a beautiful room in a great location. I especially liked all the wonderful art throughout the hotel. The right balance of character and convenience, will definitely stay again.

There is noise from the square in the evenings but this was flagged in advance and wasn't a problem for me.

The hotel is a very pretty old building, living up to its name. All the staff members are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is served in three unique rooms that are like a pantry, a library and an art exhibition (we did not have breakfast though). The bathroom was huge and amazing. The location is great, probably one of the busiest and safest areas in Cape Town.

The room we got looked quite different to the pictures (Luxury room). It felt much more basic than the ones on the photos. Not a problem for us but the building is very old meaning that there is no elevator (might be useful to someone).

We ALWAYS stay at Cape Heritage when we go to Cape Town (we are from the USA). This visit was our 5th. It is a very centrally located heritage hotel near top-rated restaurants (several literally right across the street), shopping and many sights (the colorful Bo Kaap neighborhood is just around the corner). The staff are phenomenally friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are very tasty. The rooms are beautifully decorated. There is a courtyard with several restaurants including a place called Jerry's Burger Bar which serves a selection of amazing burgers at very reasonable prices. For those who self drive, there is a guarded parking lot just around the corner). We find it WAY nicer than staying in the ultra touristy Waterfront area.

It’s so charming. Built in the 1700’s but the property is up to date and beautiful. The place is clean, the shower has lots of pressure. It’s close to everything. When traveling, we always like to familiarize ourselves with the Hop On Hop Off. The main stop is just two blocks away.

Noise noise noise. When the neighbors start partying it can be throbbing loud late into the morning.

This was our 4th stay at the Cape Heritage Hotel in 3 years. We are from the US and always pick Cape Heritage because of its central location in Cape Town near wonderful shops and world-class restaurants, its amazingly friendly, caring and helpful staff, its cozy rooms and its great breakfasts. They just renovated some of the rooms and bathrooms so they have a very crisp and clean feel. There is also a secure parking lot just around the corner. Oh, and did we mention Jerry's Burgers just inside the courtyard? Mmmmm...if you like great burgers, fries and Greek salad, well you do not have to look any further!

The rooms pick up some street noise (cars, loud pedestrians, etc), but it is not so significant as to outweigh all the positives.

- Staff (helpful and friendly) - Decor (quirky art collection) - Location (well located for key attractions and nearby restaurants) - Size of room, comfy robes and appreciates the unlimited filtered water

- Felt that the room door needs a seal. We had read reviews that the location is a little noisy (nearby restaurants). But, what bothered us was the light seeping through the hallway into our room the whole night and that all noise (talking etc) could be heard very clearly. Something a simple door seal could fix

So much authentic Cape decor and facilities. Staff were attentive and helpful and the location great. We loved the art and old feel. Breakfast was very good and there are excellent restaurants within the block and across the road

Didn’t bother us but could be a bit noisy if you’re staying on the outer edge of hotel - old features means single glazed windows.

Everything. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location, near hop on hop off bus and free walking tours. Breakfast was lovely. Room was beautiful. Court yard at the back of the hotel was great to relax and have a drink and something to eat. A lovely heritage hotel.

Rooms were amazing and the bed large and very comfortable. We had a very large room with a large bathroom, the shower was great. Nicely stocked mini bar with good price. The staff were very friendly and efficient

Character of the building and room.

Street is noisy.

Location was very good. The hotel has real charm. The room decor I would describe as vintage. The breakfasts were excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful.

Lighting in the bathroom in particular was dim. Noise from the street could be loud until midnight or later.
