Steigenberger El Tahir Hotel, Cairo

Very clean. Staff was very nice. Good location. Walking distance to the Egyptian Museum.

Bed was very firm. Lighting in the bathroom was terrible, very dim and not able to apply makeup.

Great central location. Nice rooms and friendly staff!

Pool and gym opening hours could be longer.

Good location in the heart of Downtown Cairo. The hotel is clean, the rooms are well furnished and equipped, with good value for the prices. Their main strength is the customer service. Staff are helpful, and ready to assist. I had a comfortable stay.

Centrally located, safe and comfortable. There is live music at the lobby in the evenings which was nice.

You can hear the honking from the street which is unavoidable I guess if you want to stay this centrally. I was on a high up floor and the windows do a good job so it didn’t bother me.

The location was amazing, and so was the staff. Very helpful reception and nice room service. Overall a great experience.

We had very noisy neighbors the first night.

Excellent hotel with a great bar, be sure to ask for Mohammed the bartender for custom drink suggestions that aren’t officially on the menu!

The location is central, everything is 10-15 mins away.

The noise around the area makes a bit hard to sleep in.

Breakfast is fantastic as well as the staff.

The hotel is in a really good location, across the road from the museum and a short walk from the river. The staff were so friendly and nice. The breakfast had a lot of options. I would recommend the egg station and the fresh bread. We used the heated pool which was refreshing. I felt safe in and around the hotel and our tours had no problem finding us.

There is some traffic noise when you’re in your room but it does quieten down before it gets too late. It didn’t disrupt our sleep but if you are a light sleeper it might not be right for you.

Beautiful hotel, excellent in room service, kind staff, English speaking . We theraly enjoyed it, we had to book this urgently and we were welcomed with open arms.

Breakfast fully worth it,h however in regards to dinner, in terms of quality and value for your money- stick to the menu, avoid the buffet.

Friendly staff, tasty food and wine in dining room, walk-in showers, charging ports near bed, comfortable beds.

When 2 people share a room, there should be 2 spots to keep our suitcases. One person always has to use the floor.

We booked the hotel at the last moment, the staff was welcoming and offered us the room quickly. Rooms and Bathroom were clean. Location is near to many cafe, River Nile and Cairo tower. Friendly staff and reception. Lot of vegetarian options for breakfast such as falafel, salads, breads.

Although there were lamp, bed side light etc. we felt a more light was required in the room during night time. This does not affect anything, just a suggestion.

My review will focus on the The breakfast, because it was truly amazing. It's very hard to get this quality and variety of food in a hotel. All the food was super fresh. Several varieties of Cheese, from Italian cheese, to French cheese. 3 different types of fresh butter. Probably more than 20+ type of bread. Freshly pressed juice. Raw honey with Honeycomb. All you need to start your day perfectly.

Perfect location in downtown Cairo and a quick walk to shops and restaurants and major museums. The hotel is a great value for its wonderful amenities and service. Our room was comfortable, the restaurant provided a generous buffet and the pool was a plus!

We had a large suite overlooking Tharir square and partially the Nile. Steigenberger is right next to the Egyptian museum, which is a fantastic place to visit and walking distance to bars and restaurants. Breakfast was excellent and the pool area, even though it is on the small side, was great. The staff was extremely kind and helpful.

The light situation in the room needs to be improved. It's either too bright or too dark. The lobby could benefit from a redesign. It's not a place you want to hang out in. The restaurant provides uninspired international fair, which is a shame in a city that has so much to offer.

I really enjoyed my stay here from the moment I arrived at the hotel, I was well taken care of! I arrived a bit early and they were able to immediately get me into a room and throughout my stay they reached out to make sure that everything was okay for me. I ordered room service twice and each time they called me after the food was delivered to make sure that I was satisfied. The cheeseburger is a 10 out of 10. If you stay here you have to check it out!

I had no negative concerns during my stay.

One of the best experiences for the hotels of such level all over the world. Very clean and elegant room, extra comfortable bed, excellent bathroom. Plenty of space for your belongings. Adequate number of sockets. Minimum noise from outside (jad the room on the highest floor). Unbelievable location closest to the Egypt museum. Smooth connection to everywhere in the city, including pyramides. Plenty of complementary water every day. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent brekfast with the widest possible choice for every taste. Very good a la carte menu at the restaurant. Exquisite dinner buffet changing every day. Food of extreme quality, very delicious and of great value for money (25 dollars). Great selection of vines, both French and local. A real oasis at the heart of downtown.

Weak internet signal in the evenings, you have to reconnect every 5 minutes. Would be nice to put cups, knifes, forks, spoons etc somwhere in the breakfast area for not to disturb waiters every time during busy morning hours. The sheets haven't been changed even when the note for not changing haven't been put - but I believe that was just a mistake of a staff member and not the fault or drawback of the hotel in general.
