Sofitel Nile El Gezirah, Cairo

Nice hotel to stay at whilst in cairo. Its on its own island on the Nile, so the view from a nile room is incredible. Well placed as well to get around, staff were helpful and has a beautiful terrace to eat on outside. I would stay here again.

Perfectly situated hotel, very nice team, comfortable room, well equipped. Great pool, sun-beds. Amazing variety of food from different restaurants. Perfect gym. River front and Nile view! Walkable distance to Tower of Cairo.

The hair dresser salon wasn’t the best and needs to address hygiene issues

I travel a lot, and I can confidently say this was one of the best experiences I’ve had. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The service was impeccable! The hotel is even more beautiful than the pictures. I hope to stay there again for a longer time ✨

balcony doors and connecting room doors need to be fixed as it gets quite loud in the room! Sleepy without earplus (and our room was on the 20th floor) can get quite hard

I liked the view from my room. The location was convenient, close to downtown and a shopping center. The room was clean, and the service was good. However, I think that when guests pay a high price for a room, items like those in the refrigerator should be complimentary as a welcome bonus.

There was smoking in the lobby. The waitresses seemed focused only on doing their job rather than providing warm customer service or even a smile. There was too much focus on the task itself and not enough on the guest experience. I did not see anything seriously wrong, but I also did not feel a friendly environment as a guest there. However, the staff at the reception were friendly and helpful.

We had the best last day at the Sofitel Cairo! Excellent staff, friendly and always happy to help. Excellent Moroccan restaurant (we tried "La Palmerie"), perfect for a romantic evening by the Nile with live background music. Very spacious room (we were in the Junior suite on the top floor), the view was amazing from our balcony, you could even see the pyramids! Lots of choice for breakfast, we didn't know where to start! Everything was very good, you can have waffles, crepes or French toast on demand. It was our last night in Cairo and the staff at the Sofitel really made it special, we will definitely go again and we will recommend to anyone staying in Cairo. I wish we could have stayed longer.

The Hotel is clean and comfortable. I like the balcony where we could see the view of the Nile and surrounds.

the lights on the door mirror was poor, quite tight with toilet tissue. The restaurant not very attentive to needs, we. Had a meal, when finished our meal, we wanted to order pudding, no one come to asked if need anything else. Need more communication to clients and more. The buffet breakfast attendants were really good and attentive.

Sofitel is my favorit hotel in Cairo. Everything is perfect. The service is great. I took my group to Sofitel and everybody was very satisfied.

Our stay was super comfortable, cozy and the staff were absolutely amazing. Malak at the front desk was awesome, we had booked a luxury room facing the Nile, she very kindly upgraded us to the suite and we were allowed late check- out. 100% Recommend staying at Sofitel El Gezira. Yhe view. the restaurants and the area are beautiful.

The bathroom shower did not work properly and overall bathroom repairs and updating needed.

The view of the Nile is amazing, you wake up with the sun rising view. Excellent service, everyone has been very helpful and accommodating. Spectacular breakfast, and wonderful restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Moroccan restaurant by the Nile.

I lived in Cairo for three years and always had been to the Sofitel to enjoy the terrace and the summer brunches at Le Sud restaurant. If you want to enjoy the Nile, most probably you will not find a better spot, as it is on the tip of Gezira island looking over the widest sector of the river close to downtown. It feels as if you were on an enormous ship on the river. That’s why decided to close my three year stay with some nights at the Sofitel and it didn’t deceive me: great views, wherever you are placed in the building. My room was pretty updated. It didn’t have a bath tub but it was not a problem for me. Plenty of free drinking water and decent amenities. Wonderful linen - the sheets are amazingly soft. Breakfast buffet was awesome, with real French pastries (which are impossible to find in most hotels in Egypt). Staff is wonderful in general, especially the breakfast shift and the waiters in the Nile terraces. Also the receptionists are very helpful.

The staff at Le Sud restaurant at night is constantly clearing the tables and they don’t let you enjoy your food and your overall experience as much as you could. Then this is a quite normal thing in Egypt but wouldn’t expect it in a 5 star hotel: they don’t know how to space entrées and main dishes, and they either bring the food all together or tightly spaced. The night buffet closes very early. The spa is lovely but the steam room was a bit colder than I expected.

This hotel in Cairo is pure luxury. The swimming pool and spa are gorgeous, the breakfast sitting on the edge of the Nile is stunning and delicious, the entry lobby with grand piano music is romantic, and the location on its own island means there’s no traffic noise which is pure bliss in Cairo

The hotel and room were very good and staff were very friendly and professional. The seating area next to the river was great and a good choice of snacks and meals available. One of the stand out experiences was the quality of the breakfast. There was a very good choice of food and quality was exceptional.

The location was such that walking anywhere was not an option since the area around the hotel was not interesting and rather run down and dirty. Unfortunately this was our experience of many places in Egypt (Luxor, Aswan) so maybe was not a surprise. Taking taxis to places was the only option.
