Super friendly reception - very helpful, and the room was a great size, with a huge bathroom w/ bathtub. Breakfast is served in the mornings next door at a cafe with the same name, but which is apparently not affiliated with the hotel. It was fine, not amazing, but decent.

The bed could use a pillow top for comfort - that was a hard mattress! The hotel is quite odd - it doesn't really feel like a hotel - the entry is a nondescript door, and there are no shared facilities (like a bar, or a restaurant), other than a lobby on the 3rd floor. But the room we had was great!

A wonderful hotel, though not in the traditional sense. There is no classic lobby or waiting area, but you can easily leave your luggage and go explore Budapest. The hotel is very clean, the staff is polite, and there are many thoughtful details that show genuine care for the guests. The mattresses and pillows are very comfortable, which made the sleep especially pleasant. The soundproofing is excellent – even the busy Andrássy Avenue did not disturb the rest. Another lovely detail was the scent in the public areas – an incredible fragrance, perhaps jasmine or something similar. Walking through the hotel felt almost like entering an aroma room. I noticed some reviews saying the breakfast is limited, but in fact it offers everything you need, from savory to sweet.

I stayed at Callas House in Budapest for a solo trip, and the experience exceeded my expectations in every way. Despite its exceptional central location, the hotel offers a remarkable sense of calm and tranquility. The room was beautifully designed, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable. It felt less like a hotel and more like being welcomed into an elegant private residence. As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated the warm, safe, and inviting atmosphere. I also had the pleasure of dining at Callas Café & Restaurant, where I enjoyed outstanding cuisine paired with excellent wines. The quality, presentation, and overall ambiance made each meal feel like a refined experience in itself. Even though my stay was short, I left feeling truly refreshed and uplifted. If I return to Budapest, I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to stay here again. Highly recommended.

Callas House went above and beyond to fullfill our expectations. The team members were very kind and upgraded our room for our anniversary. The condition of hotel is pristine; it was an absolute pleasure to stay there.

This hotel blew my mind. The location was incredible - right next to the opera, metro line and walkable distance everywhere. It is on the same street as luxury shops and you don't lose the luxury feel when you step inside. Visually stunning, little details are considered, snacks and water provided for you, they are so accommodating. They made the trip so special for my boyfriend's 30th birthday, staff went above and beyond. The terrace was so unique. The breakfast was lovely. Everything about this stay was phenomenal. Would not hesitate to rebook.

The room was spacious, with good storage. The bed was comfy, we asked for some extra pillows for our preference. Loved the Marshall amp to play music and the space was decorated so nicely, and cosy in the cold weather. The property was gorgeous both inside and out, in a fantastic location. We didn’t get any taxis or even use the metro as everything was walkable. We did get our steps in! The view from the terrace was insanely beautiful in the daytime and at night. It was cold but we sat up there for a dry evening which was magical ✨ The staff were fantastic, super thoughtful and friendly. I mentioned it was my boyfriend’s birthday and they made it special. Would recommend!

Some general wear, light bulbs needing to be changed, a smart TV would be beneficial. There are some english channels in the living room area but not the bedroom. There was also some filming in the building and at the opera house which was a bit noisy, we weren’t informed so next time I would recommend they let guests know there may be some noise.

Great location, attached to a beautiful restaurant where the breakfast was, and a very nice, clean room with a coffee machine (which all hotel rooms should have). Also, a big, comfortable bed and very nice bathroom. And all the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly.

The only thing I can say is paying extra for the small balcony wasn’t worth it. The balcony was incredibly tiny and the views were completely obstructed.

Everything was perfect ! Kindness at the reception, fast cleaning every day, quiet, beautiful decoration and very central in the biggest street of Budapest ! Highly recommend !

Everything was really nice. The amenities, the room, the breakfast, the details in the room. You feel welcomed and can have a relaxed stay.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were big and airy. Very large for a typical city hotel. The location in Budapest is exceptionally central; the metro is right outside, but you can walk everywhere. The view of the Opera House from the hotel is marvelous. The hotel is very clean, breakfast is decent, and it’s very good value for your money.

The hotel is an old building, so naturally there are some maintenance issues, but the staff is very fast to act. So, I wouldn't say it's a big issue

We were pleasantly surprised to find out when we arrived that we had been upgraded to a larger room, which had a great view over the opera house. The room was lovely and had everything that we needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was lovely!

The room was very hot particularly at night and the pillows weren’t very comfortable. Would recommend new pillows!

This was hands down the most charming hotel I have ever stayed in. Callas House has a beautiful historical elegance that you simply don’t find in most hotels anymore, yet it still offers all the modern comforts you could want. From the moment I walked in, it felt warm, intimate, and thoughtfully curated—more like staying in a refined private residence than a hotel. What truly sets Callas House apart, however, is the staff. Every single person I encountered was exceptionally kind, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. They went out of their way to accommodate every need I had, always with warmth and professionalism, making me feel truly cared for rather than just checked in.

Many things! Including: location, the heritage charm, the complimentary breakfast, daily cleaning and most of all, the attention to refilling things. For example, water, tea bags, coffee pods and towels. The added bonus was the closeness to the metro station. Thanks once again 😀

The reason I rated "9/10" is because the hot water ended after 10 mins (was enough for 1 person). Actually, even during those initial 10 mins, the water was not "hot as my wife expected", but "OK for me".

It was an excellent location, lovely building and had retained some beautiful art deco features. The staff was excellent and they went out of their way to make our honeymoon special. The attention paid to the room was beyond expectations, decorative towels and flowers. The breakfast was superb quality and very enjoyable. We had a wonderful stay and will certainly be looking to come to Callas House again.

We’re returning guests to Callas House and our experience was even better the second time! We really appreciate the thoughtful reception lady who provided excellent service (apologies I forgot the name). We got the same room like last time and all I can stay it was amazing! Highly recommended.

We took the suite (room 61) and it was so large! We loved the balcony overlooking the street and city. It was very cold but we did spend some time there, I assume that on nicer weather this is amazing to sit with coffee and a book. Room was cleaned every day and was very clean in general, well done! Location is great, just above a metro line (M1) and walking distance to Deak Ferenc Ter and to many restaurants/bars Breakfast is simple and good; don't expect huge buffet but do expect a good decent breakfast Lady at the front desk super-nice and friendly - we felt very good from the check-in to check-out.

Elevator is slow But really - nothing that I didn't like

The rooms are beautifully decorated and just what I was hoping for from a boutique hotel. The concierge was friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and extremely accommodating. The view from the windows was lovely, too.

I can't say that there was anything I didn't like. The rooms were very clean, and the linens were crisp. On our last night, we were not sure where to eat dinner, and the concierge made a reservation for us at an authentic Hungarian restaurant nearby.

Service and attitude in breakfast room

I spent a long weekend in this wonderful apartment (room no. 51) during my stay in Budapest, and it was truly exceptional. The location is exquisite, in a historic building on Andrássy Avenue, part of a World Heritage site. Having grown up in this neighbourhood, it was especially meaningful for me to finally see the inside of a building I had admired since childhood. The room, terrace and view were breathtaking. From the rooftop, you enjoy a panorama that is unique in Budapest — on one side, the Opera House and many other iconic landmarks unfold before you. The interior design and furniture, beautifully crafted in an Art Deco style, perfectly reflect the era when the building was at its most vibrant. I would love to return and spend more time discovering the many details of this remarkable place. The staff were extremely friendly, and a special thank you goes to the lady at reception, who kindly shared fascinating stories about the building, the neighbourhood and the rooms.

Callas House was ideal for our exploring of Budapest. It is situated on the beautiful Andrassy Road which is half way between St Stephens Basilica/Xmas markets/Danube and the other way is Hero Square and the Bathhouse - all walkable. The room was most comfortable including a nespresso coffee machine, housekeeping and a very comfortable king size bed! Breakfast was in the restaurant downstairs and delicious!

The room was excellent - old fashioned in a charming way - and was well provisioned and very comfortable.

It was surprising at first that the hotel did not have its own facilities for meals or bar and instead relied on the associated cafe/bar on the ground floor. The breakfast provided by the cafe was adequate but not great, and all service (including another coffee) terminates abruptly at 10:30.

Really liked the location of the hotel and the size/view of the room. Breakfast was decent and the hotel is close to everything, shops, restaurants, cafes. I really recommend it since the building is also amazing!

The only negative but minor is the bath that had no curtain and so it flooded the whole bathroom each time we had a shower. Breakfast could be slightly improved as well.
