Callas House, Budapest

Everything was excellent. The stuff, the room and the breakfast. Definitely would recommend.

Location was great , literally in the city centre, close to all attractions, next to metro station. Rooms clean. Super quiet.

Room was a lot smaller than we think it will be , staff on the reception promised some Bluetooth speaker even we being given lecture how to use it but unfortunately speakers was not there 🫣😂😂, plus sink was broken 🤷 breakfast was pretty poor.

Fantastic location. Very friendly staff and great breakfast in the beautiful Cafe downstairs.

Bed was a little hard and no air-conditioning or fan made the room a little hot.

Wonderful accommodations & room amenities, great 24/7 staffing, excellent location near points of interest and close to the Metro hub. Loved the included breakfast! Appreciated the arrangement for airport transportation!

Callas House is next to the Hungarian State Opera and a 10 minute walk to St. Stephen's Bascilica. Also near a metro stop. The reception lady was very friendly and she also arranged for an early morning taxi to the airport.

The room was good but somewhat dated. Bed was rather hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast in the Callas Restaurant was adequate, but not remarkable.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. A short walk to every area, near restaurants, public transport, and the fancy shops. The staff were so sweet and even left us a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The hotel room was spacious and beautiful. We absolutely loved the rainfall shower and bathroom fixtures. Breakfast was typical included European breakfast w/ cold cuts, fruit, granola, and coffee drinks along with cooked/hard boiled eggs. Amazing stay would definitely return to this hotel.

A nice hotel in a smart street. Minimal outside noise at night. Bedrooms were nicely laid out, no views unfortunately as we were on the top floor and only had sky lights but we enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was not a great variety of choice for a relatively expensive hotel but it was of a good standard. Some fresh fruit salad and wholemeal bread as an option would have been good.

Callas house accommodation is located in a traditional building exactly next to the opera house. The building itself is beautiful with an ornate staircase and an internal courtyard with decorative features. Reception is on the 3rd floor (lift access). We had a 4th floor room which had internal access to a small roof terrace. The room was lovely with polished wooden floors and traditional features. Coffee and tea making facilities were available in good quantities and replaced daily along with a bottle of water. Breakfast was served in the beautiful Callas cafe on the ground floor of the building - a really beautiful location and a range of fresh items were offered. While perhaps feeling less like a hotel with no lobby or public lounge area what is offered is excellent.

The perfect location for exploring the city. A short to medium-length walk to a variety of districts, restaurants, and attractions. Beautiful old building and we loved having a little deck up on the roof. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts at the Callas Cafe next door had a good range of options for different diets. Bathroom was small but nicely decorated. We didn't take advantage of booking any trips through the hotel but they were available if wanted.

Location. Great central position right on the main route through the city centre. Lovely old authentic building. The room was lovely but I wouldn't bother with the balcony rooms. You can't really see anything from them due to stone parapet.

It's a bit of a strange setup and doesn't really feel like a hotel, more like airbnb rooms.

The location is unbeatable—right next to the Opera House, which made exploring the area incredibly convenient. The decor is stunning, and while a few design choices may be slightly impractical, the overall aesthetic is so captivating that you can’t help but admire everything around you. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. I asked to leave my suitcase at reception, and they handled it with no fuss at all, which really helped me make the most of my day. Highly recommended for both the experience and the service!

The breakfast was nice, but it could benefit from a wider variety of choices to suit different tastes.

1) The old world charm of free standing furniture in the rooms vs. built-in. 2)The building was charming with its well-worn interiors (eg. flooring tiles & staircase) in the public areas. 3) The location is central & set within the very pleasant tree-lined street of Andrassy. 4) Laszlo, who assists guests with the check-in and other typical matters, was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. 5) Water pressure in the bathrooms was strong - a plus point. 6) The Cafe for breakfast was also an experience. The decor echoed the old world design of the bedrooms. The breakfast served was ample and tasty.

The powder room on the 3rd floor which guests may use could be refurbished.

The hotel is in a charming old building next door to the Opera. It’s a great location for walking, catching the hop on hop off bus (right across the street) and shopping and restaurants.

The hotel is housed in a beautifully preserved building from the late 19th to early 20th century, located on Andrássy Avenue right next to the Opera. The property is in pristine condition. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with large windows overlooking the charming alley. The bathroom was modern and impeccably maintained. The bed was generously sized, featuring a firm yet comfortable mattress that ensured a restful night’s sleep. Overall, an excellent stay — highly recommended.

Beautifully renovated/restored old Hungarian building beautiful architecture inside & out with all mod cons, coffee tea coffee machine & kettle, free water daily, but you can drink the tap water anyhow. Air con, not that we needed it. Bathroom minis were provided, unusual these days. Towels changed daily too.Had a feeling of staying in someone’s home from a different era. Our room was really spacious, we had a fantastic view of the Opera building, great to see from the huge bed! Double glazed no noise and tastefully in keeping with the era of the building. Can’t do the accommodation justice. Just lovely. Perfect location by the metro station and the tram. Lovely area. Staff knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast good choices and filling! Would highly recommend staying here.

The location is fantastic, right next door to the opera house, a few minutes' walk from the basilica, near to restaurants and bars. Our room was big and in great condition, the staff were friendly, and considering that you're right in the middle of a busy area, it felt peaceful.

It's easy to miss the entrance to the building and reception is a little office on the third floor, rather modest, but the building is grand and the rooms make up for it.

Fantastic location, brilliant rooms, friendly staff. Loads of nice small touches throughout, the balcony/roof access in the room was amazing. Solid breakfast downstairs every day and easy transport links to get about.
