The Standard, Brussels

Great decor and staff were good, we didn’t get to dine on the rooftop as it was closed on Sundays, but we enjoyed the food and bar downstairs, and the mini bar is good too.

The neighbourhood is central but the red light district and train station are nearby, so that isn’t ideal.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely outstanding stay! This hotel exceeded all my expectations. I was super stressed for an important evening occasion, and the staff made all the difference. At the reception, Joey — the most attentive Australian lady, speaking excellent Italian — was simply wonderful. The entire team was kind and professional, and even the director was a down-to-earth and very approachable gentleman. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this new hotel. The parking underneath the building is spacious and convenient, and the location is perfect — close to all the major Brussels headquarters. The room (thank you so much for the upgrade!) had an amazing view, was spotlessly clean, and truly comfortable. But above all, it’s the people who make this place special. See you all on my next visit — this is a real hidden gem! 💎

We only stayed one night but staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and bed great size and super comfy. Attention to detail in room fittings was nicely unusual and high standard of finish. Loved the round slatted through window from bathroom to bedroom.

This was a highlight of Brussels, and I’ve been here several times. Creative interior, perfect sleeping conditions, professional people - I loved almost everything!

The classic deco design of the rooms, lobby, and reception and quality furnishings and linnens made the stay in this repurposed office building a superior Brussels experience. If that were not enought to recommend, the staff's attentiveness and manner are to be highly commended and superior to similary priced hotels. Finally, I recommend both the rooftop dining for sunset and the high quality breakfast spread at the Double Standard.

While the shower was amazing in our room, the temperature control could take some time to acheive temperature.

One of the best hotels I stayed in a long time. The staff was friendly, professional and accomodating. The rooms were excellent - well designed, well laid out, clean and user friendly. The room service was excellent. Overall a great stay!

The staff was super nice and helpful. The hotel itself looks really nice and is located well enough and the room was nice with great view. The rooftop hotel was nice as well. The breakfast buffet, while short on selection, was pretty good. Nice cocktails too!

The breakfast buffet was small (but the quality was really good). All the essentials were there but if felt a bit minimalistic. The light management in the room requires a degree in rocket science.

The place has got such a personality. Loved the design, all the effort they put in making it look nice.

This is a great hotel, very new with amazing rooms, views and 5 star treatment from the lovely staff. We were very tired and didn't have a great experience in Brussels but the interactions with people here made our trip! Definitely recommended especially for the price.

The breakfast service was not what you'd expect from a hotel like this, very limited options and average taste (things that were supposed to be hot were not). The location of the hotel is in North of Brussels, the train station Noord is very close but not a nice area, dodgy vibes and best bet would be to use a taxi especially after dark

The property exudes a modern and contemporary vibe, welcoming visitors at the lobby with an inviting atmosphere. The staff is prepared, helpful, and professional. My room was exceptionally comfortable, particularly the bed, and it boasted a spacious bathroom. The view from my room was also a significant plus.

The only downside of the restaurant downstairs was the limited vegetarian options. The same dishes were served in the rooms, but I would have preferred simple tapas or a first and second course instead of burgers and salads, which I don’t particularly enjoy.

The staff was very friendly. The junior suite received had a really nice view and I found the room very comfortable ... even if you want to work from the hotel, it’s quiet and has everything you need. The breakfast didn’t have much variety, but it suited my taste perfectly and everything I ate was very good. It’s not the typical continental buffet you might expect at other hotels, but the quality is excellent.

For me, it was a positive aspect. I’m not sure anyone would complain about not having a TV in the room, but I personally wouldn’t use it even if it were there.

Everything was wonderful! We came with my husband to celebrate his birthday. We were offered an upgrade of the room, the restaurant on the top floor was chosen for both nights and never disappointed us, very nice cuisine and service, the cafe downstairs offered the same great quality lunch, except maybe cappuccino - that was below our standards and the standard of THE STANDARD :) But we definitely recommend and put this hotel to the list of our favourites.

Beautiful hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious and we ate dinner in the Double Standard restaurant which was excellent too. It was lovely in the evening being able to sit outside in the greenhouse but under cover! Our toddler had a whale of a time looking at the trains out of the room windows. It’s close to the station so very easy for transport. Any teething issues in previous reviews have been ironed out.

The location was excellent, close to the city center and public transport. The design of the hotel was modern and stylish, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast options were limited and no value for money. We had the belgian from the a la cartè menu and you were charged more.

The rooftop is Amazing Loved the rooftop garden! Architecture and decoration is really unique and interesting, bit retro/ movie-like. The view from the room is also really nice (22th floor) Really enjoyed watching the trains and planes at night, mesmerising! Room is comfortable, maybe bit dark lighting in the bathroom but in general very cosy. Mini bar selection is great, many nice snacks and drinks. Nice gym with great view, same floor as rooftop. Staff was very friendly everywhere

The rooftop is closed on Sunday! Which is ridiculous as its the main attraction of the hotel, the only reason to stay in the Standard! Also what a shame the breakfast is not in the rooftop restaurant , was really sad about it, The breakfast is not great, no bread at the buffet. I ordered toasts, they came cold, no orange juices, Not really refined or attractive selection. The granola/yogurt portion is huge ( normally I would not complain, but after having 1 cup I was totally full which is ashame as I wanted to enjoy the rest of the buffet… The 3 fruit juices are not marked so you have no ieea what you are drinking (apple, pineapple and grapefruit) No bread at the buffet, you constantly have to ask. I noticed when I left that table next to me ordered pancakes or omelet while nobody told me it was possible. The scrambled eggs were really bad. Wifi did not work. At check inn, saturday evening around 19.30 only 1 person worked at reception, very long queue! But she stayed calm and very helpful/friendly.

First time in brussels, this hotel made my stay so perfect with the facilities, how nice the room was - with a beautiful view and within walking distance to the centre.

Absolutely everything. It's an absolute treat for design lovers- so many interesting details. A crafted, layered, textured gem.

There's nothing not to like at The Standard, except for the complimentary coffee in the room. Cool concept, but not strong enough! ;)

Quiet business district during the weekend, but still only a short walk to the busier central areas.

The cleaning of the room could be done earlier so not to disturb us after we come back for a rest after 4pm.

Everything was perfect! The staff were very polite, friendly and attentive. They allowed us to check in early, which was amazing as we were able to enjoy our stay more. The spacious room, super-comfortable bed and marvellous view. They were very nice to prepare a bed and bowls for my dog. The hotel is no more than a 5-minute walk from Brussels North station, which is also a great point. The rooftop restaurant is a must!

While it's not a drawback, the à la carte breakfast offers less flexibility compared to a buffet, as you're limited in choosing what you want and when. That said, the meals are generously portioned and very well prepared.
