Location is very central, close to south station, walking to attractions, restaurant on site, very private setting, good size room.,

A bit old, but charming. Shower needs repair and adjustment, no inroom minibar.

Aircon wasn’t working ( we were warned of this in advance as the hotel was being upgraded & the system hadn’t been re-commissioned yet). Room 203 near lift which made clanging noise.

Staff were very welcoming on arrival, and throughout our stay. Room was clean and spacious for 4 people.

We found the hotel quite noisy, our room was very close to reception and a staff room which meant at night and earlier mornings noise would travel through to our room. During our stay our TV was not working and because it was the weekend there seemed to be no other solution.

+ room has a small fridge, convenient to drop yogurt, chocolate, or other snacks + there’s a separate table, so I was able to finish some work tasks + there’s a small safe box to keep valuables while going out + shower was nicely done and clean + wardrobe with enough space to hand clothes + there’s both heat panels and cooling air conditioning in the room. The weather was also very warm during the day, so wore T-shirts instead of sweaters in April :D ++ location 15m from the train station and 15m from the central palaces, libraries, and cafes. Making it both convenient to travel to other cities and to walk around Brussels ++ receptionists are extremely helpful - they allowed to store bags while I arrived, and lent a plate to use in the room. Thank you ☺️

~ internet connection was almost non existent and often dropped to 0 after 4pm. I used my phone internet to do any searches on the laptop ~ you can hear elevator from the room, and its high whistling sound ~ there’s no ventilation in the shower room, but there’s a window. I think ventilation would remove sewage smells better ~ during the night I heard some knocking in the wardrobe- maybe worth checking for rodents in the building (to be clear, I haven’t seen any, only heard something)

Although the location was good and room size was ok, PLEASE beware! My friend dropped her bags at the reception and placed them inside the closet as instructed but unfortunately, when we got her stuff, we discovered that her luggage was tampered with. The lock's code was deliberately changed and the contents of her bag were moved. This is odd because it was a hand carry and wasn't checked in at the airport and the lock was still working with the same code before she stored it in the closet. The staff did not do anything about this information. We had to do 1000 combinations that night just to find out the "new code"

-while our room was lovely, it was right next to elevator and was noisy. -the location while safe, and walking distance from the Square, it wasn’t the best location. -the breakfast was fine-it offered the basics: coffee, cereal, eggs, yogurt, breads/croissants.

From the pictures on travel websites, the hotel looks historical, however when I got into my room I was shocked to see red and gold ultra modern, distasteful decor that appear to be the ‘new’ look for the hotel. I booked this hotel because it wasn’t modern - I booked it according to the photos advertised. The red interior psychedelic wallpaper in my room was disturbing and I would not have booked this hotel had I known the remodel of the inside was not a match for the historical nature of the outside.

Complimentary water bottles were only provided on check in, construction nearby was loud sometimes

The room was very nice but had full length windows and at street level, with no net curtains so if you opened the curtains for daylight anyone walking past could look in. We recommend that the hotel install net curtains.

Very friendly and helpful staff. They took the time to explain and answer all our questions! The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. We only stayed a night but we would definitely stay there again when we go back to Brussels. It is is a great location for both work and leisure. 10 minute walk to the main square and easy train / metro rides to my meetings in the business / EU centre.

Some might find it a bit pricy but this is Brussels and for the quality and service, definitely worth it.

The room is big and bright, and has good air con. The location is good, very close to the main plaza and markets. There is a laundromat close by and it is halfway between two major train stations if you wish to travel to other cities.

The breakfast was small, only limited hot food, not worth the cost for breakfast. Staff was friendly, but not always the most helpful. Carpet between lift and rooms smells a bit weird.

The hotel is within walking distance to MIDI station where we could catch the airport shuttle

The room was large and quite basic, also we were not very warm and couldn’t get the heating up to warm the room

The hotel is close to Midi train station, close to the main square and other landmarks. It's in a quiet area surrounded by a handful of bars and cafes where locals hang out. The staff at the reception and cleaning team were super helpful. Highly recommend .

Good location, right in between Bruxelles Midi train station and the city centre (quite literally 10-15 minutes walk from Gran Place); spacious room and comfortable bed.

The only thing is that the room was pretty warm when we arrived, and it took quite a while to cool down. Everything else was spot on.

Very friendly staff who were very accomodating and helpful. Good location about 15 minutes walk from Grand-Place and also 15 minutes from either Brussels-Midi or Brussels-Central train stations.

Our room was location on the ground floor just off the reception area, so it was a little noisy at times during the night with people talking/checking-in at reception.

Welcoming and helpful staff really made the Augustin stand out. Also, our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and lovely L'occitaine products in the bathroom. We also enjoyed a very nice breakfast. A very good experience all round.

Tub only had 1/2 wall enclosure for a shower head coming off the spigot. Difficult to keep the water from splashing on the floor The location was not the best part of town, but no one hassled us. There were women walking alone at night.

An odd choice not to have any curtains or blinds in the bathroom. It might be only in the room that we were staying, but I had to find some solution how to cover. In the evening if the light is on and you are taking a shower the people in the building opposite the street could see you. Though the window was rather small it still made us uncomfortable.

Beds were very comfortable.

The room was spacious with comfortable beds, the location was excellent, and the staff was very helpful.

The shower was a bit tricky, requiring extra effort to get the water to the right temperature, and the sink drained very slowly. The room appeared more luxurious in the photos than in reality, though that’s often the case with many hotels.

Room was in attic space so a little small and had restricted headroom.

The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming. My room was very big and the bed XXL. The bathroom was equipped with nice l’Occitane soaps and shower gels. The breakfast was nice, quite simple but this is perfect to my taste.

It is quite an old hotel that would benefit from being refurbished. Some works have been done but it is more like a 3 star than a 4. Did not like being on the floor that is almost at street level. There were many roadworks next to the property which is obviously not a permanent feature, but it was not convenient to join the property by taxi.

We didn't like the plumbing in the room. The toilet drain is not pressurized, it takes an hour to fill up and in the end it doesn't work as it should. In the end, everyone had to flush with a bucket (garbage can) like our great-grandfathers. For those who are going to do this, here's a life hack for you). This is not the best service for a 4* hotel, as you understand) There was no time to figure it out, since we were with the family for a couple of nights. I'm sure the hotel knows about this, but does nothing. Otherwise, the staff is friendly, the room is clean.

The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with tea/coffee facilities and the L'Occitaine toiletries were lovely. The staff were very kind and friendly and went out of their way for us during our stay. We didn't try the breakfast in the end.

I think the bath / shower option could be improved. We could not use the shower attachment in our bathroom as a shower option as it was too short, so we could only bath. It was no hardship! But I think if you prefer showering, this would be an area for improvement.

The breakfast was exceptional! I really enjoyed the patio and the bar was always open! The beds were very comfortable. Within walking distance to downtown and the train!

The staff were lovely, the breakfast was good and the location was very good as well, close to the central. Beds were comfortable and the linens always clean and nice. The air conditioning worked. There was a minifridge which was nice.

The AC was loud, the walls had marks that looked like dirt, and the furniture (besides the beds) looked really old and worn out. There were at least two things broken in our room, an outlet loose from the wall (which also led to the room phone not working) and a small hole in the bathtub that made the showering there not the most pleasant experience, also the placing of the faucets in the tub was weird compared to where the shower head was placed so while showering, you had the hose from the faucet to the showerhead in your way the whole time. This wasn't a very good first impression of the room and we asked on day one if they could move us to a better room but they couldn't unless changing the room type from two double beds into one double bed and a sofabed which we didn't want so we chose to stay in our room. A few days later I realised these things really didn't effect our stay there that much, which is why I'm not lowering the score more for this. We were also told while checking out that they are in the process of renovating everything and we had been in one of the few rooms that hadn't been renovated yet. So hopefully our experience of aforementioned things is not common here.
