The Circus Hostel, Berlin

The location is good. The rosenthaler platz U bahn and Metro station is literally next to it. There is a späti opposite to the hostel to keep you covered for late night outs and last minute buys. The staff were good and they also organise activities from time to time as well. The rooms were quite big and the beds were really comfortable. Overall not a bad place to stay and good value for money since it is quite accessible.

Here I would like to talk about the design of the room. I have travelled solo a lot and lived in a lot of different hostels. Two things were quite strange about the room. So I was living in an 8 bed mixed dorm - 4 beds on each side. On opposite sides there are two wardrobes which are completely covered on the surface with mirror on it so basically whatever you are doing can be seen by everyone in the room. I am not sure why the whole wardrobe needed to be mirrorred so heavily - a small mirror on it would be sufficient for dressing up or one can use the toilet mirrors. This was a little bit annoying. The second thing was the charging point. I took a bed on the top and the charging points are on the bottom next to the bottom bed - I have never seen a hostel with such a inconvenient design. So I cannot take my phone to my bed and keep it on the floor when I am charging. Keep a USB cable there was a USB plug next to the bed - i have a normal charger not a USB so I had to go down the bed and charge my phone every time which is very troublesome.

Most of things I like clean. Hostel is very clean . And staff is pretty nice and helpful.

Good location with underground, tram and bus within a lively neighborhood. Room is spacious and well-designed. The shower room is among the best I’ve encountered in hostels, for it has enough space and hooks and the water pressure is great. The locker room is free and easy to use. There’s always coffee, snacks and fruits. And they even have a brewery and the lager is pretty nice. Also good value to money!

Convenient to get to. All doors have electronic card locks, and coffee is available anytime. I was satisfied with this place. If I need another stay in Berlin, I know where to go.

There were no hairdryers, shampoo or shower gel at all. Common places were renovated at the time so it was a bit frustrating at times

The hostel is in an excellent location, with a tram and underground stop right in front. It is also very clean and functional, with super-efficient, friendly, and helpful staff. You can use the lockers to store your suitcase or backpack free of charge. Additionally, there’s a lovely pub downstairs where you can enjoy great beer or other alcoholic beverages without needing to go out if you don’t feel like it. I really enjoyed staying there.

As a woman traveling solo I was intrigued by the unisex showers, but the solution was very well thought of and the cabin gave me complete privacy for my daily showers. The breakfast was very good!

The mechanisms that ensure doors are always closed is very loud, and with the comings and goings of guests on the hallway it can be annoying and wake you up from your sleep.

Super clean premises, very comfy bed. Location is great as mostly everything is within walking distance. Staff is very friendly. They also provide lockers for checking in your luggage, which is an additional bonus. There's an excellent bar downstairs. Watching René make signature drinks was one of the highlights of my stay.

I wish they provided a drinking water station near the reception.

Location is great! I've stayed here a few times and always enjoy my stay.

This time the room was a little strange and harder to navigate with mobility issues. A lot of the restrooms on our floor weren't working, which meant I had to go to another floor and again, that is hard with mobility issues.

The staff is very kind and helpful The rooms,toilets and shower areas are so clean. Also having a bar and a cafe inside the hostel is really great. The hostel's location is the near the tram and metro line and it makes you feel comfortable and you can reach the famous and historical places by walking 15-20 minutes(Alexanderplatz,Holocaust Memorial,Reichstag,Brandenburger Tor,Tiegarten,Museuminsel vs..)Finaller this is the Best hostel I have ever stayed.Thanks for everything.

A bit noisy cause of the tram and the People outside.

Location is great. Many attractions are around. The lobby and cafe downstairs are quite usable, I was able to use it for hours for learning and work. Breakfasts are average to good and include everything I need.

Sleeping places are lacking power outlets inside them, also hair dryers in a bathroom could be quite usable. The building is right on the tram intersection and might be quite noisy in the late evening for some, but I adapted after the first night.

there is nothing to be done about, just the location is really crowded,, so you can't open the window during the night :) and also the drain in showers in 4th floor smelled a lot even though the shower was clean.

Excellent location, great penthouse apartment for a couple looking for a bit more space than a regular hotel room. Great to have the coffee shop and bar attached for convenience and vibes. Highly recommend. Don’t let the word hostel in the title put you off. It’s great!!

That I didn’t stay longer!

Very central and clean. The staff was very helpful. Inside of the hostel there is a cafe and their all you can eat breakfast is very rich and the price is reasonable (9€).

The only missing thing is a commun kitchen.

Super hostel

for a 8 people shared dorm, it was quite peaceful and somehow guests were nice too - the area and the atmosphere somehow brings out good in people, as compared to a dingy rundown hostel - i think its better to spend a bit more and get a decent hostel than go cheap and get anxious.

noise in the night - and the locking system is too complicated. If you have heavy luggage going downstairs to storage can be a pain. Some of the coffee and breakfast attendants seemed a bit ready to lecture you for v small things like using credit card for small payments. Not all of us carry cash around so wish they would be a bit more accomodative to tourists - that being said the "foreign" crew managing the cafetaria were amazing and lovely people.

The room was super clean, also the bed was made with professionals. All the instructions from the app were very clear. When I came at the reception the guy there spoke Spanish so it was very easy to communicate.

The property was very coolm especially the nods towards the Hoff. I also appreciate the bar which was authentic to the hostel. The man at the bar was also amazing and lovely.

The hostel is amazing and close to the Metro, Bus and Tram stations. It’s very neat and I had a good stay. I will definitely be staying here again when next I visit Berlin.

The 6-person dorm I stayed in was very spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hostel is great, with easy access to public transit, lots of places to eat, and walking distance to certain attractions. I liked that secure storage outside of the dorm room was provided free of charge.

Do not store valuables in the lockers in the rooms. These units should be replaced... it wouldn't take much for someone to simply unscrew both ends to access your things if they really wanted to. There are no women only showers. Men urinate in the showers, and the smell and hygiene are disgusting. There are no paper towels in the washrooms, and the hand dryer is obscenely loud.

Super well located! HUGE room and it originally said that it was a shared bathroom but we had our own. Staff are wonderful and the environment awesome! Will 100% recommend and use it again when we back in Berlin

Its location right by Rosenthaler Platz makes it very handy to have the city at your fingertips. With the metro and tram meaning you can access most parts of the city centre within half an hour, it's a perfect spot for solo travellers who perhaps have limited time and want to see a lot in a short space of time. As for the hostel itself, it's well equipped with well-maintained facilities, the handiest of which is their secure locker system which allows you to keep your valuables safe free of charge - a bit of a lifesaver if you're travelling with a camera or laptop. The best thing is the staff. Very approachable and willing to help, if you don't have too fixed an itinerary and want to get a better idea of what to explore in Berlin, they'll have some great suggestions that you'd likely miss otherwise.

The property is centrally located in the party area of Berlin. There are lots of eateries in the area. The staff at the property is very friendly. The room is spacious and clean. The shower facilities were also well-kept.
