The location and vibe of the hotel

When the rooms are at the road side, no airco and very noisy

The bed was good and the cleaning service. Good breakfast and the garden was excellent.

The room felt a bit cramped. The view from my room was not the best - trash dumping ground. Very loud pipings that woke me up a few times.

Choose the Gold Room looking into the inner courtyard.urs a walkable neighborhood. Trains , trams are right in front.

It’s a lively hip neighborhood. Lots a bars and restaurants. The breakfast was convenient.

The staff is very kind. Comfort of the room: superb! The food is very good.

A lovely hotel that focuses on superb attention to detail. The friendly staff and tasty food were particular hightlights.

Some of the rooms haven’t been modernised and our room in particular overlooked the local refuse site with multiple wagons coming and going, also would’ve liked to have been made aware of the €100 hold prior to arrival

Creative and cool. Breakfast was amazing and we loved our room and welcome.

I found sleeping difficult- we had the window open and there was quite a lot of noise at night from people chatting in the courtyard.

The house is pretty clairaudient. We had a very small room (we booked a small room), for a couple 12 m2 is too small and the room does not offer any privacy as between the bed and the shower/toilet is a big glass window.

Very edgy hotel. Super hip and bohemian atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The lobby area and the cafe/bar is really nice. From time to time, the hotel features indie music artists who perform in the lobby, which was the highlight of my stay.

The standard rooms are super small, That said the room had everything I needed. It was also very clean.

The breakfast is always a dream, it's a good place to be and you feel looked after. The smaller loft rooms are also really nice, it was warm and it felt good. Loved the vibe of receptionist upon arrival, super nice.

The first room I stayed in the Overlook, was ironically less pleasant than the loft due to it facing the other side of the street with lots of machine sounds and the room was cold. No carpet or heating. Under the blanket was fine. I take it on me for not mentioning this after day one but nonetheless it was received more as, bad luck you should have told us before moving rooms. I think this could have been different. I have to say despite some of the great people that receive you, there was a sense of lots of things slipping out in the lobby, the staff were maybe too busy or something else but unfortunately leaves a dampened feeling of the place. Also the volume of music in the lobby in the weekends makes it impossible to relax or even talk.

Great bar and restaurant and super nice staff. Conveniently located close to some of the worlds best night life.

The rooms were weirdly designed with little room to keep your luggage. Good ting we were a couple, but even we don't need to see eachother through a window when one goes to the bathroom.

What’s there not to like? I liked everything about it: the cozy rooms, with a DIY-touch, the great bar and staff, the food, the concepts throughout, the eye for detail, the diversity to cater for different diets, the location, the barrel-sauna… it all comes nicely together.

I liked everything apart from the view maybe - but that has nothing to do with the hotel and actually only adds to the “Berlin”- experience.

The hotel is amazing, from the tall rooms with ingenious designs to the welcoming lounge filled with musical instruments, books, and comfy couches. The staff is young, cheerful, and willing to help. One of the best things was the big array of pillows that you can choose from freely: side sleepers, neck support, etc. The buffet breakfast is incredible: lots of vegan options and fresh products from the hotel's farm.

Too hot everywhere in the hotel, especially the rooms, even though we turned the heat completely off.

The food was good, the bar at the main hall had style and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

There was no chair for the table to sit on. The table was quite low so that one has to sit on the floor to use it. For work with a laptop unsuitable. The window in the shower was weird....

Very conveniently located, cozy and vibrant, always filled with people hanging around at the bar or restaurant. Nice rooms (even though a bit small) with good amenities and very clean. Very good breakfast and food at the restaurant. Very friendly staff!

A bit more closet/storage space would be nice, even though it was adequate. Lighting in the bathroom as a bit dim. If you want slightly bigger rooms do not get the small rooms listed.

Nice flair and creative decoration. Bed was really very comfortable. The whole hotel just smells really amazing. Brunch (28€ p.p.) was also really good.

The small double room is not worth the price for us. It's too small and doesn't cover the room facilities hotels in the surroundings have (desk, more storage space and sitting area). Dinner in the hotel is very good but over sophisticated and very expensive. Hotel seems to be run by French people and those were definitely Paris prices.

Comfortable bed. Clean room. Loved the shower gel, soap, and body lotion that were available. Room was enormous with an open bathroom. Hotel makes an effort to eliminate single use plastics. Breakfast really good and fresh food.

Noise from outside (trains and metro). Cappuccino is not included at breakfast.

Cool hotel in a brilliant location - within walking distance of many of Berlin’s best neighbourhoods, and right beside public transport links to get around the city. Staff were great too. Lovely quiet courtyard in the middle.

There wasn’t much not to like. Little things like the choice of tv stations (weird!), and the lack of storage in the room. But they were not big deals for me.

We liked the style of the hotel and the idea behind it, although the service ruined the impression from the check-in. One pleasant moment was at check-out, there was a very nice staff member, and he was very nice and helpful and actually smoothened the whole meh-experience.

The reception staff at the check-in were not so involved. The room wasn't ready at 15. they asked us to wait in the lobby, but never told us when it was actually ready. The service in the lobby bar was same. They asked us to sit and wait until someone comes to take our order, but no one ever came and 20 min later we had to try again to order at the bar. The room had "amazing" view at the rubbish pit, and surely opening the window on our anniversary celebration wasn't a happy moment, in the room there is no aircon, and opening the window was impossible due to loud noise of rubbish trucks starting at 5am. The beautifully designed leaflets in the hotel provide all the information how sustainable it is, about the bamboo toothbrush and the map of the area... which is very nice, but there were no bamboo toothbrushes and no maps, also at the reception, we had to look for someone to ask for it. What's the point to design the map if your staff is not giving it to the guests, unless you deliberately ask for it. The floor in the room is very slippery, the room service picked our dirty towels and floor mat the first day but didn't replace it,so we had no mat and my daughter actually slipped and fell on the floor, luckily didn't harm herself.

Really nice facilities and thoughtfully decorated accommodations. We particularly appreciated having the on-site cafe for both coffee in the AM and wine/drinks in the evening. Easy to walk around the area as well from our location.

Depending on where you are spending time in the city, it can be a bit far (i.e. from a lot of the main tourist attractions). I would also note that the rooms do not have A/C, but this was not an issue for us.

Great location everything there for late night Berlin fun. Room was good a bit small but perfect for what we needed. The constant loop of the tv and The Big Lebowski and all the other six channels was a bit annoying but I get the point of the theme we were only there for 3 nights so not too bad. Didn't have breakfast or food but the bar and courtyard was great. This isn't just a hotel people come to just hang out and have drink or a coffee which I liked.

Could've had at least some varied tv and a chair in the room. We were there in the summer and it was hot 35+ there's no air con just a small fan so the mornings were hot, but ok for a short stay.

Location and very quirky

No air conditioning but electric fans suppled. No headboards and no conventional beds as mattresses on platform. Comfortable enough.

Our room was quite warm -

This is our third time at the michelberger hotel and won’t ever be able to stay anywhere else. We love the location is so central to where we want to explore and a bolt is never too far away if we need. The vibe of the michelberger is unmatched, just having a wine in the courtyard after our day is one of our favourite parts of it.

Pillows could be improved

Brunch was excellent. Small room, but OK. We adjusted our mind and functioned ok. I booked a long time ahead and asked for a silent room. Got one room into the noisy street. I asked for another and got a room into the backyard which was a lot more quiet, but a scenery towards the garbage. I find the concept of the hotel fascinating. Good service from the staff.

The hotel has a great courtyard and bar. I liked the location. It's close to shops, u Bahn and restaurants and site seeing (east side gallery). The hotel soap is great too.

The room I stayed in was smaller than expected and had no aircon! It would be nice to have some place to hang clothes up and a chair to relax in. The bathroom is also super tiny and the room I got was at the back next to a dumpster with machines going all day and early mornings - very unsightly view and no aircon means hot and noisy. Personally, I wouldn't stay here again.

TV channels streamed hotel's own content, but would often distort and pixelate. Bathroom lighting was poor.

My partner complained that there was no conditioner. They also charge for parking, parking should be free. Felt we paid too much for a room without AC.

room was quite small and NO air conditioning during a very hot week. small room layout required me to stand on my bed and ledge in order to close the large window curtains. this felt kind of janky
