The staff, the lobby, the breakfast

The furnitures in the room are of very bad quality. Lot of them were damaged. The floor included. There is no ‘view’ from our room as it was mentioned except if you step outside in the patio, you can have a partial view of the zoo.

- Totally over priced and far away from a 5 Star rating. - Poor Service and lack of trained & knowledgeable staff - Food and Beverage below average; had a hair on one of the dinner servings. Staff in the kitchen do not follow proper hygiene standards / no hair cover. - Check-in process not welcoming; no concierge to assist with luggage etc.. - In room furniture were old and outdated with damaged finishes showing wear and tear of aging interior - Didn’t check us into the upgraded room as advertised by Booking.com

Bed was nice

Being woken up by cleaning staff at 8:30 on a free day and then being told “this is reasonable time.” No it’s not. After a 60h week I wish to sleep in.

Amazing design, great room, very good breakfast selection.

Stuff were very slow to service in the bar and in the breakfast, took ages and had to request everything multiple times.

Amazingly friendly and professional staff from start to finish. We had a very luxurious and spacious room which was just like the photos on the website. We had not stayed here for over a year and a half but were welcomed back as friends and were made to feel completely at home.

Location is wonderful, next to the Tiergarten and overlooking the zoo. The building itself is stylish and beautiful. Breakfast is fabulous, the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional but are not equipped to resolve the serious infrastructure problems which need to be addressed.

There are serious infrastructure problems which need to urgently be addressed by the owners. The lighting is faulty and lights don’t work or the switches turn on different lights etc. We had to change rooms because of this. Additionally, on our last night before flying out we had to change rooms at 1am because the air conditioning which was switched off at the time turned on repeatedly and noisily blasting us with cold air, which was impossible to tolerate.

Absolutely wonderful staff! they go out of their way to help you out!

It feels expensive for what it is.

Comfortable bed and friendly staff

Bad smell in the room - the basin - stale water. And I would have expected a bath in the room at this price.

Super fun hotel with lots of character. Our room overlooked the zoo if you looked sideways and we could hear the lions roaring. The hotel has a private entrance to the zoo which is really fun to use after buying your tickets online. The hotel felt like it was in the country (bordering the Tiergarten), but you can walk to Kurfurstendam. And it was a short walk to public transportation. Nice breakfast. Lovely modern room with great bed. Helpful staff. Relaxing pool (could even do short laps). Nice restaurant behind hotel on lake. We loved it!

Everything. The hotel is beautiful, from every corner. The landscape is relaxing as its sorrounded by a big green park. Employees were the nicest. Food very tasty. My room was very comfy and cossy.

The stay at SO/Berlin Das Stue was wonderful. The staff behavior was on the highest level you could expect. Especially the porter at the front door was super nice to us and friendly. We were offered to have the car parked right when we arrived which was nice. The attention to detail in this hotel is at the highest level. Our room was good size, very nicely designed and with a large balcony overlooking the city. The pool is beautiful and was almost empty everytime we went there. The sauna is smaller, but beautiful. The breakfast at this hotel is truly amazing and great value if you prepay the breakfast. You can get as many servings as you want. The restaurant during the day or evening is also very good. The gym is smaller, but well equiped with modern machines including Peloton bike. The location is a bit off the busy street, but very calm next to the park. You can get to Ku'damm in about 10 minutes walking, which is nice. Or, the hotel provides bikes you can rent.

If you would be in a rush in the morning, come early to the breakfast. It is not the fastest, because it is not a bufet, so you need to order and wait a bit to have the dishes prepared. But for a holiday it is not a big deal at all! We enjoyed our time having breakfast.

The staff both front and back of house were particularly affable and friendly providing excellently attentive service with a smile with an effort to remember your name! The hotel decor was extremely easy on the eye with great attention to the design detail experience and true comfort. The hotel is located next to the Tiergarten which provided a central yet peaceful break from the usual, hectic character of Berlin, it was in short an oasis, a haven, a sanctuary.

The hotel lobby looked beautiful and the bed was very comfortable.

Even with air conditioning, the room was extremely stuffy. For this price, I was expecting better standard than what we got. The room itself was quite disappointing. The check in process was extremely slow. Definitely overpriced for what we ended up with.

The hotel was clearly understaffed. The service in the bar was slow. We had to wait for breakfast on the first day and the staff forgot a lot of our orders. The room was not well cleaned, and one day the room wasn't cleaned at all by 4pm. The staff did not apologize for the shortcomings.

The bathtub in the room was amazing! Great location and a view, nice staff, and the best massage at the spa.

Not very clean, the curtains in our room were stained, the blinds on one window didn't work and wouldn't go up. There was a bad smell in the bathroom. Also, I found it too expensive.

The room service were very kind to arrange for us to get dinner shortly after the restaurant was closed. We get nice menu from the BBQ and the food was great. The pool and sauna in the Spa were very cozy and nice.

Gym facilities were very limited and no water in the gym. Room service mistakes eg no milk with tea, or another time 1 cup instead of 2 (minor problems but annoying as a quick cup of tea takes too long). Overly expensive.

super SPA

Beautiful old building, in an interesting location. It’s a love place be. The room was nicely fitted and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bartender was great.

Some dissonance between the decor and the underlying architecture. They are trying to connect themselves to the Zoo, and it seems a little strange. The staff are forced to wear some pretty awkward apparel. We hung out in the bar for a few hours, which was good for drinking but not the comfortable to sit, and the food was very basic.
