Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Barcelona

The staff were extremely courteous, knowledgeable, professional and really seemed interested in making our experience, exceptional.

The property was very underwhelming. Very small lobby which didn’t convey the feeling of it being a luxe five star GL hotel.

Very hot inside. Apparently saving costs by turning dowb air conditioning. Staff said they were not allowed to adjust it to colder temperatures (was +28c outside). Lobby bar is below a 5-star standard you would expect.

Staff are exceptional - friendly, welcoming, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful, well trained, well groomed and extremely professional. Property is well maintained, room is spacious and clean. All amenities/essentials are generously provided.

The rooftop bar was someone small and I couldn't even get a table even though I was an inhouse guest.

I did not like that I was fooled by the picture of the room mandarin that displays as a large room facing a garden ( also an option to get a boulevard view) but I got a tiny noise room that was unbearable to sleep . hotel itself extremely average , No interesting disighn or super service. was my first experience with mandarin and the last . don’t want to over pay for nothing .

I had an exceptional experience at this hotel, truly worth the money spent. Being quite particular about hotels, I was impressed by their exceptional service. They clean the rooms twice a day, and are generous with providing water. I appreciated their attention to detail, as they fulfilled all my requests perfectly. I believe it's important for a hotel to make their guests feel special, and this one excels at it. This is definitely a hotel I will be visiting again.

The lack of view of the city from the roof terrace bar/restaurant was disappointing. . Removal of the hedge would be an improvement.

there was ant all over the room. they don’t clean the rooms and change the bed sheet. trash i need to throw it my self. also i changed my room two times and the bed was a disaster in both. NOT RECOMMENDED.

it’s a uniquely designed modern property in the heart of Passé de Gràcia . it was super convenient for our city break. most of the attractions and shopping activities were in walkable distance. The staff were super friendly and accommodated to our requests on priority. One of our bags were not received on arrivals at airport and they followed up to make sure it was delivered at the hotel as soon as it arrived in BCN.

Location is central in an elegant shopping street. the entrance is discreet and elegant and artsy The hotel has the feel of a boutique hotel but is very luxurious The service is excellent at the reception ( William was amazing he helped us throughout our stay and also with subsequent reservations!!) ) at the concierge ( David and Raoul ?not sure of names) ! were a great support they were very patient and supportive and attentive to our tastes and needs Esther at reservation followed up on our requests and was very accommodating and helpful Breakfast area is very elegant and sophisticated but also comfortable and relaxing The breakfast staff were very accommodating and professional while being friendly warm and extremely service oriented (everyone but also Luigi in particular) The spa is small but calm and relaxing Soundproofing in the rooms was excellent - the rain shower is very good Thank you for a wonderful stay

The rooms are small with low ceiling bathroom is also small The location is next to casa batllo and central but amidst shops I prefer a location with more privacy and charm

The roof top area was exceptional with extremely friendly and attentive staff. The Bankers Bar was a lovely environment to have a pre dinner cocktail which were fabulous and staff again very friendly. We did not have breakfast. The location was perfect for exploring Barcelona and the room was very comfortable and spacious.

I can't say there was anything I didn't like about the hotel. Unfortunately, I booked the hotel from an airport and didn't read the booking.com confirmation properly. I needed to cut my trip short but the booking was not flexible, I had to pay the duration that I booked. Had I booked direct with the hotel, they would have been happy for me to leave early with no extra charges.

The decoration, location, staff and concierge attitude and support were great.

there was alot of noise from the hall, not necessarily people or music; just doors, trolleys and chairs which was annoying and woke us up. soundproofing issues maybe.

Absolutely perfect time at this wonderful hotel - I can’t praise the excellent staff (literally every member of XS staff!) enough for making our stay so great. Extremely pet friendly hotel, I stayed with my dog and she was treated like a queen! Can’t wait to stay again - I wouldn’t ever pick anywhere else in Barcelona again.

Upon checkout we discovered that someone had charged a bar tab to our room (I had this corrected). It wasn’t a big deal, but then the valet service dented our brand new 2008 Peugeot while it was parked over the weekend and tried to say the dent was there already. That was an outright lie; our car was less than a week old. They said that we needed to submit a cost estimate to fix it and they would consider taking care of it. That was all they could do. I don’t actually have words to express how upsetting this was and I took me awhile to write this review bc it was so egregiously infuriating. We won’t be going back. When we have time to get this estimate to fix it, I’ll send it to the hotel but doubtful any record was kept as they seemed to just brush us off. Maybe because it wasn’t a Mercedes?

Room good and lots of space

Many facilities were unavailable - the rooftop terrace, the restaurant, the gym and swimming pool.

The rooms were among the best we have ever stayed in and the service from everyone we met was fantastic. They could not have done more to make our stay truly memorable. Concierge fantastic in sourcing tickets to football and booking restaurants and tours. Attention to detail impeccable . We will most certainly return!

Indoor pool quite small and no sauna - just steam room that only accommodates 4 people . Also shame that too roof terrace closed for renovations
