The location of the hotel was excellent situated in a safe, walkable area with plenty of great restaurants nearby. The bakery downstairs was incredibly convenient; we had breakfast there every morning and loved the variety. In my opinion, the breakfast buffet wasn’t worth the price—it’s better value to order à la carte- better value and you can choose exactly what you want. I also appreciated the 24/7 front desk staff, who were helpful and even booked tours for us. Overall, a great stay with everything you’d need for a comfortable short visit!

The room was quite small—there wasn’t enough space to fully open two suitcases, which made it a bit tight. It’s manageable for a short stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer visit. I also think the hotel could improve by providing more toiletries, such as bar soap, which is typically standard in most hotels.

It was in a great location and waking up to the smell of the bakery each morning was divine. The room was very clean and we loved the character. The bakery staff was super friendly each and every encounter throughout the day.

An opportunity to improve service would be with the one lady who checked us in and out of the room. She was always looking at computer or on a device and didn’t once interact with guests unless asked a question and then her responses were brief. We stayed in 4 hotels during this Spain/France trip and I have to say a smile and greeting goes a long way! The bakery staff was wonderful with this, the hotel lady, not so much.

This was my favourite hotel that I’ve stayed in! You wake up to the smell of baked goods and are set in a central location. The hotel was very thoughtful with available water and a water bottle. When we stated it was St Jordi’s Day and they had left a beautiful rose on the bed to celebrate!

The location above the bakery was convenient. Beautiful selection of pastries and breads and good coffee. The breakfast was a good variety. Room quite small but as advertised and very comfortable. The location was great for us to access public transport and also walk to many of the main attractions in Barcelona. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel in excellent location - it was our second stay in Praktik Bakery and it will always be our choice when planning a trip to Barcelona. Rooms are rather small, but all you need is a big comfortable bed and nice shower - you can find it right there. Highly recommend, bakery offers a nice selecion of sandwiches/pastries if you want to pick up a breakfast on the go or have a sweet treat.

ALL hotels should have a bakery! The breakfast is outstanding.

My only slight dislike is the mattress was rather hard for me.

You can't beat waking up every morning to the smell of cinnamon rolls baking. It was a unique experience, and the bakery is apparently quite popular with locals. The rooms were pristine and attractive. The full-length window that could be opened fully was a godsend when things got a bit warm in the afternoon. The location is close to several local tabernas, taxi stands, and cute shops. I also appreciate the efforts by the chain to be eco-friendly and not wasteful. The hotel provides a nice reusable glass water bottle for your visit and for you to take home. Mine was cracked and dirty on the bottom, but the front desk attendant was happy to replace it for me. There is a cold and hot water dispenser to fill it in a lounge on the first floor. The rose left on the bed by the service staff to celebrate St. Jordi's Day was an extra special touch.

There is no coffee machine in the rooms.. you have to pay one euro to get a pod from the reception desk to use in the machine in the lounge. There is not enough space in the rooms to unpack and store clothes and toiletries because of a spartan design system consisting of a few pipes, hangers, and shelves around the bathroom sink. There really is no bathroom counter, at least not in my room on the 5th floor, and no wardrobe either. Putting some simple shelves or even hooks on the bedroom walls would help improve this issue. The beds are basically Ikea mattresses and twin frames pushed together, but the bedding is comfortable. Reception is a tiny ledge at the end of the bakery counter and manned by one person, which meant we had to wait nearly 15 minutes to check in. A large family of 5 was checking in ahead of us and had a problem with their reservation. When it was finally sorted, they then proceeded to ask for help with booking tours and such. The attendant should have asked them to wait so that we could be checked in after waiting, but he didn't. He proceeded to make some notes and phone calls for them, which was a bit frustrating since we were all obviously already waiting. With other attendants, the service sometimes seemed lukewarm when I needed to approach for assistance. The thermostat in the room was controlled by the hotel, and you couldn't override it. Opening the window helped, but there is a playground behind the hotel that gets filled with children early. This, and the horns of traffic (Barcelona is crazier than New York City for this) you will hear very clearly until you close the window. In addition, one evening, I had the front desk book a van for our trip to the train station the next night. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU NOT TO DO THIS. We nearly missed our train out of Barcelona, despite careful planning and ample time. Book your own transport, do NOT use the hotel as an intermediary.

The location is extremely good, which is just a few meters away from Gracias Street and Casa Mila, also very closed to many bus stops and underground stations. I haven't tried the breakfast, but I could smell it every morning when I woke up, which was really nice and attractive. The staffs are really friendly, providing us a lot of help.

Excellent location, close to Passeig de Gràcia, shops, restaurants and transportation. Waking up to the smell of freshly baked croissants and bread was special.

Pillows were too firm. Staff seemed indifferent. No real lounge area (the windowless internet “lounge” leaves one uninspired) to take a break or have a drink (except the bakery).

Location was great, very close to attractions and shops. One bad thing was that there was a constant noise in my room like a vibration and it woke me up at times. Couldn’t figure out where it was coming from but was disturbing for me.

Hotel situated above a bakery the aroma of which woke you up. The room was a bit on the small side and took a while to get used to the door opening into the bathroom area but was clean and comfortable. The shower was large and plentiful of hot water. The location was excellent to explore Barcelona and close to a Metro.

Well equipped room. Great to have the bakery on site - delicious savoury and sweet stuff on offer.

Only gripe was the bed was a bit firm and the whole thing moved a squeaked every time you moved.

Breakfast was fantastic. There was a great choice of food, although someone with celiac disease who also cannot eat dairy would probably struggle to find an option. I loved how quiet it was, despite being in the very heart of Barcelona. The staff were all positive and happy to help with any of our needs.

Bakery food and coffee are great. Room was small but nice with good view of street and quiet. Shower was fantastic. Staff very courteous and helpful. Ordered a taxi through the front desk person and the driver was very nice.

An incredibly charming hotel in one of the best neighborhoods in Barcelona. Just over a block away from Casa Mila and La Rambla and easily walkable to tons of sites around town. Metro station is also very close making it easy to get anywhere. Our room was just above the bakery ovens so the room always smelled like fresh baked pastries, which was an unexpected but amazing bonus.

Rooms are very small, No kettle inside the rooms ( basic requirement). No tables or chairs inside the room

Great location. Clean room. Convenient breakfast with lovely backery just downstairs. No drinking water is served in the room, but there is a water dispenser in the common area, where you can get cold or hot drinking water. Huge and comfy bed.

Not recommended for business traveler. There is no desk in the room.
