Excellent location. Could walk to many locations and also close to metro. Staff were super helpful with where to eat etc. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable.

I arrived at the hotel with my two sons, aged 19 and 13, at around 11:00 PM. Upon arrival, we were given two rooms that did not match the reservation we had made in advance. We were promised that the rooms would be changed the following day. The next day, when we returned to the reception, the staff claimed they had tried to contact me regarding the room change, but I did not receive any calls or messages, even though my phone was available for international calls throughout the trip. Unfortunately, the attitude of the reception staff, especially an employee named Karina, was extremely rude, disrespectful, and aggressive. Despite the hotel’s mistake, we were asked to pay an unreasonable extra charge in order to receive the rooms we had originally booked. In the end, I was forced to pay an additional 400 euros. For two days, we were unable to enjoy our vacation because we spent most of our time waiting and repeatedly returning to the lobby after being told different times for when the rooms would be ready. Even after being promised the rooms at 12:00 PM, we ended up waiting until 6:00 PM before finally receiving them. My sons were very upset and frustrated by the entire experience. On our last day, since our flight was at night, we asked to keep only one room for a few extra hours. We were charged an additional 200 euros for this, which I paid, and even asking for a few extra minutes to organize ourselves resulted in more demands for payment. This was my third stay at this hotel, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I have never encountered such a poor level of service, especially from the lobby and reception staff. Overall, this experience caused us significant stress and completely affected our vacation.

The staff was so nice and accommodating, always smiling and eager to help with anything. It truly felt like they did everything possible to make us happy and ensure we enjoyed our stay.

The location was perfect—right in the middle of everything, but not in an overly crowded area.

Split level room with sofa bed upstairs was not ideal for our 6 year old as the stairs were very dark at night - we had to buy a small lamp. Otherwise, great.

The hotel is beautiful and has so many gorgeous statues and interesting artefacts. The staff were amazing and always went above and beyond and very attentive. We had a room for 3 people and the room had an amazing split level bedroom upstairs.

Our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and made it very slippy getting to the wc. Bedroom window couldn’t be opened and if you don’t like traffic sounds, then this isn’t the hotel for you: pool area is good but hardly any shade!

We were given a discount card to be used for the Sushi Resturant in the hotel, but when we did go and try to use it they said it doesn't apply because it was a weekend. We didn't particularity like the design of the hotel, the retro with Mayan/Buddhist style. The idea of a museum in the hotel was interesting but the execution not so great.

Once the problem with our reservation was worked out the room was very nice. There were three of us traveling together. Plenty of room and privacy.

Not enough meal places to choose from.

Loved the spa, and how accommodating the staff was. The rooftop terrace was great and La Terraza for my birthday dinner either friends was incredible!

For the price point, the room had terrible lighting, especially in the bathroom. The shower had terrible water pressure, and what was supposed to be one large bed were to single beds pushed together and without a supporting larger box spring below them so the bed kept separating in the middle. We also had to ask for our bags to be delivered to our room more than once.

The rooms were beautiful, location was excellent and the free champagne upon arrival was lovely. We also used the spa which was a unique and extremely relaxing experience!

The first room we were in had these gorgeous windows, the second room had almost no natural night and tiny windows even though it was technically an "upgrade". I would have liked the water replaced more consistently - some days they didn't give us new water.

We loved the staff. They were all so professional and friendly. The Asian restaurant was amazing. The quality of drinks on the terrace were great. The beds were comfy, good linens and towels. The shower was good and all amenities were provided. Overall, the stay was extremely comfortable and pleasant. We found the location perfect.

While the room itself was beautiful, the walls were thin and there was a lot of street noise. The bathroom was a little dark and no vanity mirror. There was a conference on one of our days which meant service on the terrace was extremely slow. The smell of the hotel is specific. While I enjoyed it, others may be bothered by it. The gym was limited but cute.

Unfortunately there is no sunlight, which is something you have to be prepared for rooms of a lower standard. It's a pity that the pool is not heated in the cold season.

The concept is interesting, the art pieces around the room and common spaces are beautiful and the building itself is gorgeous and in a great location, in the heart of the city, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and touristic attractions nearby. The lobby and rooftop terrace are lovely, good quality bed linen and towels, nice smell in the lobby, very attentive and friendly staff who have been nice and helpful everytime we interracted.

The Junior Suite felt crowded, dark and weird and far from luxurious. There is no door to the bathroom, the shower leaks water all over the floor, is full of visible mold and has a bad smell, the room of the WC is minuscule, there are not enough garbage bins (none under the sink, none in the sitting room where the minibar and coffee maker are). The furniture is original and interesting, but uncomfortable to use (everything falls off the bedstands, the storage space for clothes is insufficient for a 3 adults room). The wooden floor, the doors and the walls have visible wear&tear signs. The sofa bed is impossible to sleep on, dreadful quality and shape of the springs and mattress, we took turns each night so that none of us had their back broken too badly by struggling to sleep on it on consecutive nights. Apart from the artistic concept, i still think a hotel room needs to be comfortable, ergonomic and pleasurable to live in for a while - unfortunately, it was not the case - and given the cost and the quality of other SLH properties, it was quite disappointing.

This hotel is wonderful, no questions asked. Great location, amazing interiors, hotel personnel doing absolutely everything and going above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. There is also a great SPA in the hotel and a rooftop bar is amazing. The hotel is Mayan culture themed and has a small but wonderful art exhibition. Everything is very clean, my bed was really comfortable and I also had this great bathtub in the room. I went to celebrate my Birthday and felt very celebrated on the day! I can also recommend the VIP breakfast, in summer on a rooftop it is a wonderful experience.

Probably the only thing I was missing was the balcony or a terrace in the room.

Great hotel & staff and in a fairly good location. The roof top restaurant was really nice and the food great too and I think it was very reasonable. The rooms were very clean. Lots of nice places to eat nearby. Didn't have breakfast included. The hotel smelled wonderful, I guess it came from the spa.

Room was quite dark, although your not in your room all day it became a little frustrating Room 301. Also, if you need a rest during the day ( my husband recently had a new hip and needs to elevate his leg for a few hours a day) forget it. The house keeping staff made lots of noise, scrapping chairs, loud banging sounds, trolleys rolling up and down. This went on from 9am to 6pm. Other than that we loved the place.

Perfect location to explore Barcelona, very warm welcome from all staff at reception and concierge. Lovely room with a window that opened to let in fresh air, clean rooms and splendid linen. Lovely terrace on the roof and a small but serviceable gym.

Sadly our room didn’t receive the turn down service. I had booked a double room and I was checked into a room with two singles, the lovely lady on reception indicated that they would change to the double during turn down to avoid any wait immediately. However as turn down didn’t happen, I was left with two singles, and also was disappointed with no turn down. Booking a 5 star, the turn down is something that makes a stay a little extra special. This was very disappointing as I love the idea of the art hotels and had considered staying in another of the chain elsewhere, but I won’t given this omission. No reply to my email to indicate this error, and then when attempting to discuss on reception in the morning they seemed a little helpless and just gave me a card of someone to contact. A few hours after check out I received a mail to say that turn down was refused, which is simply not true. This guest service is not what’s expected in a 5 star place - super disappointing!

Open plan bathroom means sleep is disturbed whenever anyone goes to use it. Stairs were also not safe for a toddler. Walls are quite thin and we could hear quite a bit of noise

Great location! The Japanese restaurant is amazing! Our room was good but smelt of fried food, not dirty but perhaps a vent making the smell.

beds were rather hard and the rooms, while quirky, were not as user friendly as they could be. another bin would be helpful! some useful flat surfaces are needed…the upstairs was pretty but we didn’t use it at all. There are minimal English tv channels, so we weren’t using it as a living room. we used the stairs for storage as a birdcage took up a large proportion of our downstairs space.
