The Yard Hostel, Bangkok

Very cute place, chilled, laid back, nicely decorated, where you feel like hanging out for a while. Everything was so clean, the beds very comfortable and the staff friendly. They provide a nice breakfast with fresh fruits and the wifi connection is good. Bathrooms were nice and bright, with a towel provided for each guest, and a hair dryer available which I appreciated. I enjoyed the location as it's in a very quiet area while being close to restaurants and shops and the metro. I strongly recommend this hostel which has a good balance of calm, social spaces and where you sleep well. They have a 24-hours front desk so I was able to check in at 5 am after my flight got delayed. They replied quickly to confirm while I was at the airport which made my experience less stressful. Thank you.

I think women shouldn't have to pay more for a female-only dormitory in order to feel comfortable and safe. As I disagreed to pay more for this option (even if the price difference isn't huge, it's symbolic), I booked a mixed-dormitory, ending up with... Guys of course. How convenient for them it is, as almost all women are willing to pay extra for their safety and peace of mind. This rule should be changed, safety shouldn't be a luxury. (Don't get me wrong, I felt safe in the hostel and in the room, but still, for some women it's not a option to share a private space with men). The kitchen has the bare minimum so I didn't bother cooking there, and the fridge was too small for the amount of people. Lockers are available to store our bags, but the room was a bit small to navigate with our stuff.

I really like the patio, the easy check in and check out, the staff is super friendly and the area in front of the hostel and around is super chill. I stayed four nights and will for sure stay in their other place in chiang mai as well. It was the perfect hostel to arrive and take it slow!

very social and chill place without being a party hostel. it was the perfect hostel for me to stay in jet lagged.

you will need to leave the dorm and go outside to get to the bathrooms. the dorm was also very small which is no problem though because the social area is also a nice place to chill on your own.

Lovely setup with the rooms around a communal area. Good bed & shower, nice staff and good atmosphere. Plenty of coffee places & restaurants nearby and a short walk from the BTS station Ari.

Such a lovely hostel, social area very chilled but still social. The rooms were super cosy and the bedding incredibly soft! A great breakfast. Also some great places to eat nearby.

The breakfast is amazing; homemade yoghurt and fresh fruit, bread and butter. Coffee and tea selection as well. Also, the yard itself is so nice and relaxing and lots of green. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Loved it!

Very friendly and helpful staff. A shady and lush oasis in the city. Close to a train station and everything else you might need. Lovely shared spaces make it easy to meet people. Super relaxed. The breakfasts were just right.

Loved everything about my stay! The location was great (close to sky train) and staff was absolutely lovely. There is a good social atmosphere and the property is clean. The AC worked really well and the showers were warm. I extended my stay because I loved the place so much. Highly recommend!

The people of course! Both the staff and the guests. the yard is very inviting to just sit out and hang with the good people. It’s very comfortable and close to the BTS train station. Also loved the breakfast and that there’s laundry in the place.

The Yard had a very nice vibe, the staff and laid back atmosphere was perfect for us during our first days in Bangkok. We will definitely be back!

The greenery, amazing vibes, sustainable all spaces were amazing! I took a private room and I loved it. It was so comfortable and cozy. The team here is so friendly and helpful specially Om (sorry not sure how to write it) she explained everything so well i felt at home immediately.

Amazing if you are staying longer in Bangkok, Ari is a really good area! But for shorter stay. It’s hard to reach the more touristic areas. (It’s written on the description before you book) And you will end up taking transportation all the time.

Just a minor thing - there wasn’t a wardrobe in our room to put our clothes in so we kept things in our bags but this wasn’t a big issue for us as the room was spacious enough.

The yard of The Yard really is a cool and spacious place where you can easily meet other people. it's so nice to chill beneath those threes in the middle of the city. It's not a party hostel and during my time it was never loud in the evenings. I had a private room with balcony to the back, which was perfect. The room is big enough for one, maybe a bit small for a couple but doable. Had everything I needed.

The hostel indeed is a bit outside. there are nice cafes and restaurants there but to go see the other parts of the city it's around 20-30min by Grab (USD 3-4) or even longer by skytrain.

Comfortable beds with lockers, curtains, lights and plugs so you have privacy and everything you need. The rooms and bathrooms are kept clean. The whole vibe of the place is just lovely. It's a great place to meet people and hang out, I hardly wanted to leave the hostel to go exploring! Breakfast is also nice - simple and healthy. There are plenty amenities like laundry, co-working area, chill area, bar, coffee shop, board games etc all within the hostel. The neighbourhood, Ari, is also so nice - a lot of really nice bars, coffee shops, restaurants, street food and markets. I'll definitely stay there on my next trip to Bangkok!

Everything as advertised! Clean, in a hip area far from the party down area! You can socialize enough or keeping your own. The girls and the boys working are super polite and helpfull!

There should be head up shelf for charging your phone while sleep. Otherwise you need to put your stuff on bed which is annoying. Someone was sick in my room and I had spend my entire trip sick.

We stayed in a room under the stairs which were making a lot of noises because the rooms are not so isolated.

Cute hostel, can be a great option to meet other travelers. The room was pretty basic and clean, and the neighborhood is nice with hipster vibes (nice cafe's and some shops).

Many stairs to get to the room, keep in mind if you bring a suitcase. Also, the hot water in the shower took some figuring out.

This is an incredibly cozy place to relax that truly captures the nature and atmosphere of Thailand 🍃 The people who work here are very positive and always happy to help and give advice 🥰 Delicious breakfasts and plenty of spots to chill around the property. This place is definitely worth your attention!

Great hostel with very welcoming and helpful staff. I booked the double bedroom with ensuite and it is perfect if you are staying a few days in BKK and need some extra space. It was very clean and Ari, where this hostel is, has a great vibe with lots of places to eat and drink.

I didn’t like however, in my private room I had some curtains but they don’t really close fully to provide you with full privacy. My view was on the garden and meeting area sooooo I didn’t really feel safe/ alone to chill in my room once I got back from a long day.

The ambience of the property was calming. Had the most fun time with friends I made in the yard. You have an amazing backyard right in the heart of Bangkok.

The outdoor area is soo nice, in between all the trees so it feels very peaceful. The bed was comfy and everything was clean etc. and the staff is lovely :)

I think the price is a bit high for dorm rooms. But then again, it includes breakfast and coffee (which is so good) and you're paying more because it's a very popular place so you're guaranteed not to be alone
