The Yard Hostel, Bangkok

It's in Ari which is a cool place to walk around when in Bangkok. We had a room with a bathroom for the two of us. And it's possibly the most comfortable bed I've had in 6 weeks anywhere in Thailand. The staff are lovely. Nothing seems to be too much trouble. And on the whole there is no reason not to stop at the yard if you like hostel style accommodation.

The photos of our room are let's just say favourable. And the same goes for the outside photos. The place does look a little tired compared to what you see online. Everything just needs a good old sweep and tidy and a lick of paint here and there. But otherwise I have nothing bad to say about any of it. And let's be honest anyone who actually complains for the price isn't being fair. It's a hostel. It's hostel life which means it's community, and can be noisy at times.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is great and the hostel is like a little oasis away from the busy main road. The staff help to create a good atmosphere amongst travellers. Facilities to do laundry was very useful too.

Room needed some hooks and a mirror near the sockets.

Highly recommended. Has a very cool garden. Easy to get to by sky train. Great place to meet other travellers. The staff are exceptional. They had such good recommendations for exploring local Bangkok.

the door to the room (and all rooms) was not closing well, you really had to throw it shut, not too nice when everybody else is already sleeping in the room or the neighbouring rooms - everything else was perfect

Bed was a bit hard

Everything was amazing. All the staff were super helpful, they helped create a super welcoming and inviting vibe throughout our whole stay. The location was great in a great neighbourhood. Our private room was bigger than most hotel rooms we’ve stayed in around the world. The breakfast was amazing too .. we’ll definitely stay here again if we’re in Bangkok again

Nothing - everything was even better than expected

Breakfast was great and zero waste. We were upgraded on arrival to a private room which was really great as we got food poisoning (elsewhere) so we were really grateful to not be disrupting anyone else. Really nice common room we could hang out in after check out to recover

The Yard is a small, quiet green oasis in the middle of Bangkok. We were warmly welcomed and provided with everything we needed. The people at The Yard take care of their guests and our planet with heart and passion. I really appreciated that no plastic is used here, which is unfortunately still an exception in Thailand. I can recommend this place to anyone who cares about community and environmental protection. Many thanks 🙏🏻we would come anytime again.

The property was in such a lovely location and was a very relaxed environment nestled in the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff were so great and attentive. The breakfast was just what you needed in the morning and the communal areas made it easy to socialise or just relax in.

The best hostel in bangkok. The Open space it's perfect for working, chilling, making friends or just baking in the calmness of Thailand weather. The fruit full breakfast is very good. All the facilities are comfortable and clean. The rooms are small but comfortable. There are activities every couple of days, yoga, muai thai, etc. The staff is super super nice, willing to help in all details and with good english. There is a cat sleeping in the futons, it just makes everything perfeect.

As I was a solo traveler, I looked for a place where I could meet fellow travellers. The hostel turned out to be an ideal place for that purpose: their common backyard is where everyone gathers in the evening to share experiences for the day. So easy to start a conversation.

Breakfast is more of a fruit assortment. Don't count on it to gain much energy for the day. The price for a private room with a shower was a bit expensive.

The property was very interesting, relaxed chilled vibes and great if you want to socialise and great if you didn’t! Staff were really helpful very friendly. If you’re looking for a place closer to Khao San Road for example it’s about 20 minutes maybe longer depending upon traffic but I wouldn’t let that change your decision about staying there, the area around the place is lovely and is in the perfect location especially if you were saying for longer periods of time. Breakfast was great too which was a massive plus from us! The bed was super comfy and the room had space and bathroom was great! Would have definitely stayed longer if we needed to!

I loved the very relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is really stimulating this atmosphere in all aspects. The shared living room, the pillows on the floor where you can lay down, the tables that invite different people to sit together. It is very easy to get in touch with other people when you are traveling on your own. The yoga class you can follow every friday. Beside that I also really liked the way they are taking care of the environment. Recycling everything, no bottles etc.

The common area is like nothing I’ve seen in Bangkok, I wanted to extend my stay just so I could keep experience this amazing hostel. Not a party hostel, just genuine connection with people. Yes it’s social. Trust me, don’t look anywhere else. Choose this one.

Close to Don Mueang Airport. Nice bar (with cocktails!) to hang out in evening to meet people. Breakfast is great.

The lady from the check out seems uninterested in her job/customers. I ask her if I could take the bus from Ari Station to Airport Don Mueang, yes no problem was her advice. At the end I waited 45min for a bus which never came and at the end I took a taxi! ADVICE to all customers..the frequencie of the busses in Bangkok are not trustable. The reception should know that and tell me. Go to Victory Monument instead (fast bus from there), or take a taxi.

Without doubt one of the best hostels I stayed so far! It’s located in hip and stylish Ari neighborhood. The next BTS station in 10 min walking from where you could reach the city center more easily. Their staff is uber friendly and helpful, whether it was for late check in or adding an additional night on short notice. They also offer a bunch of workshops and guided tours to attend. Socializing is made easy here. Keep on with the good work yard family!

Didn’t have too much privacy around the bed

We stayed at a private dorm and the room was spacious, clean and nice! We enjoyed the chilling atmosphere and the cozy garden. Nice breakfast with fruits, bread and yogurt!

The vibes are immaculate! Perfect place to meet like-minded people. Overall a very chill place and easy to make connections due to the hostel’s layout. I loved that people ate breakfast together every morning outside! Also in a great location

Because of the open air concept, the bathrooms had mosquitos so I always had to use repellent

One of the best hostels ive been to! I loved the garden and the people in it. Breakfast was lovely and the place was in a quiet area of Bangkok, which i liked.

The best thing is the atmosphere here- it is SO social but in a really chill way instead of a party hostel. The vibes were amazing, it’s like a calm oasis in busy Bangkok plus the staff were so so lovely!

This is the perfect hostel for meeting new people - the common areas make it so easy to socialize and make the most of your hostel experience. Beds are comfortable, breakfast decent, staff extremely helpful, and location mid.

More like staying with family then a hostel. An oasis of calm in the wonderful Ari area of Bangkok. The Som's have created something special and are also opening up a fabulous place in Chiang Mai. Do not hesitate to stay in the yard here or in Chaing Mai. The best!

Everything. I have travelled around south east Asia and stayed in plenty of hostels, however, the Yard is by far one of the best I’ve ever stayed in! The atmosphere and the vibe in this hostel is second to none. If you want a very chilled stay with like minded people.
