Tucked away in Bangkok’s royal Dusit district, The Siam is a stunning riverside escape that feels more like a private estate than a traditional hotel. It was dreamed up by Thai celebrity Krissada Sukosol Clapp, who wanted a worthy home for his massive, lifelong collection of antiques. Spread across just 39 rooms, the property treats guests to an incredibly intimate sanctuary right on the Chao Phraya River.
The hotel’s striking aesthetic was brought to life by globally acclaimed designer Bill Bensley. Inspired by Paris’s Musée d’Orsay and King Rama V’s reign, Bensley blended bold, monochromatic Art Deco lines with lush, tropical greenery. The result is a visual masterpiece where over 25,000 vintage artifacts, historic photographs, and rare books are seamlessly woven into the architecture.
There are incredible stories hidden in every corner. For instance, the hotel’s signature restaurant, Chon, is set inside three century-old teakwood houses. These historic structures once belonged to socialite Connie Mangskau and silk tycoon Jim Thompson, and they hosted legendary guests like Jackie Kennedy and Henry Ford before being transported downriver to the property.
Beyond its beauty, The Siam breaks the mold with unique features. It boasts the world’s first luxury hotel Muay Thai boxing ring and an underground spa offering sacred Sak Yant tattoos. For a final playful touch, head to the private vinyl or screening rooms, where you might spot vintage cameras sitting alongside hidden figurines of E.T. and Chewbacca.

Simple divine.
2 nights at The Siam felt much longer as you enter an oasis in the middle of a vibrant but chaotic city. Our butler curated wonderful day trips, we had great dinners and the spa has to be seen to be believed. No pictures can show how beautiful the property is and its many corners filled with curios and antiques.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.

It would be better if we stay more than 1 night here.
Everything was fabulous here from the time u arrived and greet by the staff till the time u left the hotel to airports. The designated assistant was very helpful in fulfilling every needs.
The amenities in the bathroom do not meet the expectations for such luxurious hotel. Commonly the amenities would be superb in other hotel

Wonderful place and wonderful Staff. A true Oasis in Bangkok and probably the nicest Hotel we ever stayed in (and we did stay in a lot of Hotels). General Manager Nick also really made us feel Welcome. 5 Stars!

Magical experience if you don’t mind being a bit out of the way.
Beautiful facility, incredible staff, good food.
Very far from everything. There was construction in the plot next door that was noisy. The river view from the room was not good.
