Hotel Park Hyatt, Bangkok
The Park Hyatt Bangkok sits on a piece of land with a rather classy history. Before the skyscraper went up, this prime downtown spot was actually where the British Ambassador used to host elegant garden parties. Today, it has swapped those manicured lawns for high-rise luxury, occupying the upper levels of the Central Embassy complex.
The building’s futuristic, twisting architecture is the work of London-based firm AL_A, led by Amanda Levete, alongside Pi Design. From above, the structure curves into a continuous, three-dimensional figure-eight. This isn’t just a bold design choice; the loop functions as a massive, 3D infinity sign that doubles as a traditional symbol of good fortune.
Step inside and the energy shifts instantly from a busy metropolis to a calm private residence, thanks to New York design duo Yabu Pushelberg. They curated the interiors to feel like an intimate, sophisticated home. To keep things interesting, the hotel is packed with major art pieces, including massive, floating metallic sculptures by Japanese artist Hirotoshi Sawada that mimic mythical water dragons.
Even the outside of the building tells a story. The exterior is wrapped in thousands of extruded aluminum tiles that form a shimmering pattern. The texture is a deliberate nod to the intricate, traditional motifs found on classic Thai architecture, ensuring this modern tower stays connected to its roots.
Expert reviews
“The hotel’s personality is spelled out by the stores in the mall it’s connected to—all upscale, all chic. Park Hyatt Bangkok offers top-notch luxury in a prime spot connected to the exclusive Central Embassy mall and Ploen Chit BTS station.”

“Occupying 27 floors directly above Central Embassy, one of Bangkok’s newest luxury shopping malls, Park Hyatt Bangkok has a commanding presence in the city’s downtown area. Even with its prime location, it manages to maintain an intimate feel throughout.”
“Park Hyatt Bangkok soars above upmarket Phloen Chit like a giant cobra uncoiling. In sharp contrast to the colour and chaos of the city, the hotel has opted for pale pared-back interiors, hushed service and enough leisure facilities to ensure that even the most frazzled of guests will unwind.”
