Room on 3rd floor (Bank building), could feel heavy frying smells from the kitchen/restaurant.

Great location, smart style, pleasant staff. I’d let them know if was my partner’s birthday and they’d arranged for complimentary Prosecco and macarons to our room on arrival.

Extremely central, convenient location, helpful staff, and a stylish, comfortable, well-appointed, room.

A decisive factor in selecting this hotel was the rooftop pool - but it was shut. Very disappointing - and strange that the hotel didn't mention it in the pre-arrival-info email. UPDATE: Having messaged the hotel about this disappointment, I received extremely gracious emails from both the Duty Manager and the General Manager, the latter of whom in particular went out of his way to explain the pool had been open and that we had just been misinformed - but also to make offers of accessing the pool and other amends for the next time we are in Amsterdam. An unusual and impressive level of attention to communication from guests - we were grateful for it and thought it was important to note here, too.

Exceeded expectations

Stylish hotel and the room was quirky. I didn't eat in the hotel, so can't comment, but the staff were all really friendly and the location is great.

I didn't like the split property, so the reception is across the street from the rooms and It all felt a bit disjointed to be honest. Lovely hotel though,

W lounge, we started our evening here, lounge reception staff were rude, we waited around 45mins to be served and a further 20minutes for our drinks. It wasn’t possible to order at the bar, it was table service without the service.

The suite was lovely and intimate in terms of aesthetics. The reception staff was very helpful and gave me a nice gift as I left. They made it nice as it was for my anniversary and provided Prosecco and a lovely heart chocolate & card.

Not a fan of the shower in the room as it was small for a suite. There was nowhere to hang towels. The check in and out staff was not the best and a little rude. The in room dining charged for delivery which I have never seen at a hotel before. The lighting in the room wasn’t the best and for a suite it wasn’t greatly noise insulated as I could hear other people talking outside and slamming doors. The upstairs TV had no connection to chrome cast and could only watch normal tv which was annoying as the downstairs one worked perfectly. The iPad in the room was pointless as it did not work and had a date on it from 2007.

The lifts were permanently busy or one was broken so always had to walk up the stairs. Layout is weird & the rooms were a bit tacky

Our room was a let down. Very cramped, we booked a city view which was a very small window facing some air conditioning units. The room layout was bizarre. The shower felt like a cupboard and left me feeling claustrophobic. Was very much looking forward to my stay but the room left me feeling disappointed

I was overcharged for my stay and I haven't been paid it back just yet, also it wasn't the cleanest hotel for the price being paid!

Room and Location was excellent.

Maybe the price was a bit more than expected for that level of hotel. Also because I booked throuhgh Booking.com it was hard to manage any changes to the bookings on site and also as we were traveling as a group by I was paying for everything that became an issue as we booked through Booking.com

The location was excellent, the staff at the front desk were friendly, and I would like to specially thank Anastisia, the front desk manager who looked after us during our stay. They even sent us cake and chocolate to the room as it was our anniversary. The restaurant Mr. Porter is amazing, the best steak I ever tasted. The bed was very comfortable as well.

The jacuzzi was not working at the spa

Receptionist staff was very friendly and accommodated an early check in. Rooftop lounge, bar, and restaurant area, vibe, and view was nice. Good location.

Rooms were okay, breakfast staff not friendly or accommodating. Doorman was very rude and unfriendly, don’t rely on him for booking you a taxi to the airport.

I came 11 at night no one help me to carry the luggage. No one show me my room and my room is like middle floor so I need to carry my luggage from the stairs which they did not inform

We have stayed more than once, but staff and management were quite offhand. Refused to give us our room on time. We waited from 3pm until 9pm to get access because they had “sold an extension to the previous occupant”. Management refused to discuss the matter while we were there or afterwards. Reception staff quite offhand. No alternative facilities offered.

when I arrived there was an event on at the W’s bar. Although it was clear to security and everyone else I was arriving at the hotel with my two suitcases out of a taxi, they didn’t move or attempt to help me. in fact they stood in the way. so I was just stood there with my two suitcases whilst the two idiot security stood infront of me. to be totally honest I was expecting someone to help me with my bags as what happens in any 5* hotel. anyway, after I pulled my bags in myself and made my way past the two security guards who were on a one in a lifetime power trip I checked in. the check in staff were very nice. however, again I had to take my own luggage to my room. that’s just not something I’m at all familiar with in $500 a night hotels lol.

The location is perfect, the atmosphere is great and the food is excellent. The spa treatments are also great and the Duchess restaurant is amazing although both are very expensive

Very small room for 2 people - no bathroom as such - a (great) closet shower and wc with one (large) basin in the room; no comfortable place to sit in the room apart from the bed (very comfortable). Always a shame to spend a few days away in a room smaller than my bedroom at home. Would I rush back? No, not least because of indifferent service.

The location was excellent and spa facilities very good.

The ultra modern styling of the room using dark glossy colours and dim LED lighting was uncomfortable on the eye. Also, I didn't like the fact that there wasn't a hand basin in the WC.

Check in desk seemed understaffed - had to wait for nearly 30m to speak to someone.

The hotels biggest asset is without doubt its wonderful staff. Its location and spa facilities are very good and I would highly recommend the breakfast. The outdoor pool is pretty spectacular too.

We stayed over Christmas and I feel that given the overall cost - £3,000 for 4 nights - there were no little extras to make it feel special or Christmassy. Our room was nice, but you have to pay for the most expensive room if you want a bath. The shower in our room wasn’t very practical either. It’s just a shower cubicle with nowhere to get dressed other than in the main bedroom and there are no hooks to hang damp towels or robes.
