Good location, nice water bottles coffee and the bed and pillows.

It had the Hoxton charm and small them touches that we love. The location was great to visit by walking not far at all, to see all the things we love to do in Amsterdam!

Sadly the restaurant and bar area Lotti’s was understaffed from our perspective, frustrated guests waiting a while for their orders and exasperated staff. With that being said all staff we interacted with were all polite and nice though just very slow service which is disappointing. The comfy room was incredible comply and felt bug enough. BUT if you bring a large case, be mindful you'll need to unpack as there isn't much room to open your case and leave it open on the floor!

Location was fantastic , Friendly staff when you arrive, Great breakfast, Very big room and super comfy bed, huge bathroom and separate toilet .We loved that there was lots of complementary tea, coffee with sufficient Milk in the fridge .

The staff at breakfast on our first morning was really not friendly in a bad mood and he made it a bit of an awkward vibe. Not enough bikes to use . After travelling for a month and coming from Australia it was our last stop and we splurged on this hotel for a big room and l was disappointed with our dark room looking into a function space.

Great location with an interesting vibe

Expensive without providing the added extras you would expect at this price point. The lobby was way too crowded with people all on laptops - made the place feel like a business centre not a relaxing holiday destination!

The staff was friendly, great location close to everything

The location is great; walking distance to all nice areas and the staff is really nice and helpful. The food is also good and tasty.

Fridays and Saturdays, there is DJ music in the lobby and depending on your room it may be loud. It was in our case.

Excellent location. Great space, rooms and decor. Delicious breakfast. Dinner menu wasn’t compelling. The hotel misses the mark when it comes to tourism customer service and the small quality details - the staff were not professional; bathroom amenities are limited; the room refrigerator has gratis water, seltzer and half and half (directing guests to purchase items behind the lobby desk or through room service - which is slow). Main issue is that the entire lobby/lounge area is filled every day with local remote workers on their laptops from 7am, all day long. No place for guests to sit. I felt like I was walking through my office every morning. Pretty stressful. At the same time I felt this hotel isn’t living up to the business and hospitality potential this property deserves.

I felt my room felt a little bit too small if I were to compare it side by side the cost of the hotel. I could have gotten a bigger space in other 5 star hotels.

The staff was friendly and always willing to engage in helpful conversation.

The breakfast that was delivered each morning to the room included sugar-filled breakfast bars that I did not like. Also, on the last morning, I received an overly ripe banana. The juice was delicious, though!

Location couldn't be better. Hotel has a lovely atmosphere if you're looking for a fun and fancy weekend in the city. The rooms are lovely but there isn't a lot of wardrobe space so book a bigger room if that's what you need.

The menu was often half sold out every time you tried to order. A lottt of people come here from across the city and other tourists and so this isn't the place if you wanted a quieter stay with lots of hotel social room.

Great location and very friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean and bed comfortable.

The stairs! Usually not an issue but we were travelling with 2 large 23kg suitcases and our dog which made the the 3 steps into the hotel and the 10 from the elevator to get to our room a struggle- had we known we porjbaku would have opted to stay elsewhere. It was also very busy, the queue for the Fotoautomat was down the stairs and blocks the entrance door. The hotel also knew we had a dog but no dog bowels were prepared which is unusual. There were also no basic beauty supplies such as makeup pads in the room.

The hotel and staff were great. Location was perfect and the room was very good.

Breakfast was a shambles: it looked like they were suffering from a shortage of kitchen staff. We waited over 30 minutes for our food (and it wasn’t busy) and when it came, the chicken sausages were stone cold, like they had come straight from the fridge. A disappointing end to an otherwise good hotel experience. Such a pity given chose to stay there at the start of a special trip.

The price and small rooms

Centrally located to all the major sites. The hotel itself has a really cool unhurried vibe that we loved. The restaurant Lotti was great start off our day and to put up our feet in its lounge area.

I felt room amenities were a little lean so if you’re expecting that little “extra” luxury something, you won’t find it BUT you have everything you need for your day to day and if the minibar isn’t refreshed, you merely need to call down to ask.

Some helpful staff. For the price, I would only book again if I had a canal view room

The rooms without a canal view are almost as expensive and pretty dark

The location was great - within walking distance of stores, restaurants, bakeries. Room was cleaned everyday - which was a treat. Staff was attentive and friendly.

I didn't like that originally I signed up to include breakfast. But you had to order off of a menu which was not huge and which never changed. And when you ate they had you sign a slip. So they would be aware of how often you ate breakfast. I opted not to eat breakfast on many occasions - but was charged everyday whether I ate or not.

The Hoxton is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Amsterdam. It is centrally located right on a canal close to plenty of shopping and restaurants, and it is easy to get around to all of the sightseeing you will want to do. The hotel is updated while still being in a historic building and the room we stayed in was really large and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel is also great and opens early in the morning for breakfast (which most places around do not!) I can't say enough good things about Lana at the front desk - she was incredibly personable on check-in and even remembered my name through our entire stay!

There was not a lot of storage space within the room even though it was large. It would have been nice to have a closet or a few drawers for our clothing.

Great location. Stylish looking hotel. Bed was comfortable in bigger “roomy” room, with some thoughtful extras provided like chocolate, postcards and stamps.

Overcrowded, small and noisy reception area with queue to arrive and depart. The bar/cafe area is difficult to use - too busy and music bit loud. Very expensive rooms

Stayed here to celebrate King’s Day and This was the perfect hotel! The location is amazing and the special touches the hotel itself had for the day were amazing. My only point of criticism is the lobby gets very busy which can be overwhelming but if you like staying somewhere with a bustling city feel to it this is for you?

A few times during our stay we went down to reception to have a couple of drinks, only to be told by staff we couldn't sit at a table in the restaurant as they are only for people eating - even though the restaurant was not full. All of the seating outside the restaurant was occupied by people on laptops working. One afternoon we decided we would have some snacks at the restaurant so we could get a table/seat. We ordered a bottle of wine which we were told 5 minutes after ordering they had run out of. We then wanted to order some food and were told the fryer was broken so the server told us the few things we could order. Considering how much we were paying I really expected better service, felt like they favoured locals with laptops over paying guests!

The staff were super friendly, especially Juan who helped to book taxis, helped with charging my phone and also helped carry my case to the taxi when leaving. The food at the restaurant was superb. They had a dj playing on Saturday night. There is a fun Photo Booth! And lots of complementary water. A Lush gift was placed in our room for my daughters 16th Birthday. Thank you!!

Room size and an extra mirror in the main bedroom or bathroom for applying makeup would help or replace the smoked glass mirror in the bedroom as I found it difficult to apply make up.

The views out our window were amazing, especially sunsets. (and this was January!) We were in the attic with these great wooden beams to duck, but it was very comfy. Shower/bath was also really good.

Would have been great to have a bed/breakfast option.

The room, location, and restaurant were all great. Very central and close to everything that you would want to see on a short trip to Amsterdam.

The location was incredibly convenient, and the room was nice, although I wish I'd stayed on a higher floor. That was my fault for not making a specific request. Overlooking the canal was a treat for a first time visitor to Amsterdam.

The service in the restaurant was slow. There was an event at the same time we were eating, and our meal was delayed so much that we had to leave before it was even served because we had theater tickets. The waiter actually had us pay our bill and kept promising that the food was on it's way... and then 5 minutes later repeated the same promise. I knew we were tight on time, but this threw a monkey wrench into things and caused considerable tension between my wife and me. The next day, the manager did credit our bill but because we had paid for dinner separate from our bill that became a little complicated — still the manager was very nice about it offering an explanation rather than an excuse. Finally, the person who actually checked us out made an error on the bill such that we were mistakenly charged 85,000 Euro which temporarily froze my AMEX account until I resolved the issue in the U.S. If I didn't carry alternative cards and cash the trip home would have been difficult. The mix up was human error and the manager honestly thought she caught it before the charge went through but I guess it was "processed" too quickly. Obviously, AMEX rejected the charge after all, my limit is insufficient to cover a charge of 85k in Euro but they did put a fraud notice on my account which is why my card was temporarily frozen.
