The location is good

They have bunk instead of pod beds. The beds don't have head pieces, I was sleeping at the top bed and mi pillow felt. I didn't want to move to disturb my roommates. The lockers are super noisy and narrow, if you take something out you make a lot of noise.

Overall maintenance is a bit lazy, with noisy doors, no functioning lookers. The power available on each bed is only USB, many phones no longer use this kind of plug, they should make a regular outlet available.

What a cool hostel! Tucked behind the cafe, the hostel has a massive community area, fully equipped kitchen, and outdoor area. The staff was friendly and the hostel was cleaned daily. The rooms were also not half bad. The location of the hostel, while it could be better, is good. It’s close enough to the center, red light district, and central station to reach within fifteen minutes by foot, but far enough away to be safe and quiet. Overall I would stay here again!

I would stay here again if I had the money! Not unique to this hostel are the insane prices for accommodations in Amsterdam. Aside from that, nothing much I didn’t like. Maybe add curtains to the beds and have under bed lockers.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. The facilities are great and the staff were very lovely and accommodating.

The shared bathrooms aren’t great but I guess that’s to be expected.

The staff is awesome!!

The communal areas were a real treat, it was quiet, laid back and friendly. Even though I was sharing with 6 other females it was cool, no stress. Bathrooms were kept very clean, as were the other areas, I especially liked the kitchen facilities, there are 2 supermarkets 5 mins away so I had the option of cooking for myself, which was great. And the staff were excellent also x Highly recommend this place.

Honestly I'm trying to think of something I didn't like but can't! I wish I'd tried the bar, happy hour 5-8pm, but that's my bad...lol

The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very nice.

Great Location, close enough to city centre and a form of public transportation. Communal kitchen was good, and so were the bathrooms.

Top bunk beds are very loud when you move very slightly, springs might need to be replaced.

1. Poor lighting everywhere except by the bed—-the night light was helpful 2. Too many smokers! When garden or front door was left open, even a little bit, the smell permeated the area 3. Water gushing through pipes in female dorm woke me up :-(

There's tons of space in the hostel from the communal room, kitchen and even café area. Bathrooms are gender neutral and shared among everyone, but very private and I did not have any issues where there would be queues to use either the shower or the restroom. The showers were probably the best part because it's sectioned into two parts that can help prevent your things from splashing and getting wet, which was fantastic. Tommy, the tabby hostel cat that hangs out in the hostel everyday is probably the biggest highlight of my stay here! He's super friendly and very calm. He minds his own business, but is always open for pets and company. I would say, the best employee in the hostel to be honest. The location of the hostel is not the most central in Amsterdam which means less noise pollution, and it's tucked away in the quiet part of Waterlooplein (just 1-2 blocks from the tram/metro station) which makes it easy to get to and from the city center, but also walkable there too (about 15-20 minutes). There are several supermarkets that close late, around 10pm just around the block from the hostel which makes it easy to grab a quick meal, bakery item, juice, groceries or snacks. There's also tons of cafes in the area as well. Nice view of the canals and boats passing by. The hostel also hosts some events and provide small discounts on different activities that can be done in Amsterdam (posted around the communal area). While I haven't gone to those events so I don't have much to say about it, but as a solo traveler, having these social options help meet other travelers and enhance the experience so just to point out that the hostel does do social type events but not a party hostel.

Staff in the evening were not professional, usually hard to find if you need something, but the morning staff were super helpful. There's not much air circulation in the rooms despite being spacious with windows opened. There was a girl who had the stinkiest feet, shoes and questionable hygiene in my room and the smell would not leave even using the air freshener provided by staff. The air was very stuffy inside the rooms. There was another girl who was sick and never left the room because she was resting during her stay. I end up getting sick despite not being in the room as much and being located on the other side of the room from her because there was no air circulation in the room at all. There's also a late 10 euro check-in fee. My flight was canceled and my new flight was delayed and passport control took 2 hours at the airport. So my travel time end up being over 8 hours so I arrived at the hostel around midnight out of my control. The staff had no sympathy and was annoyed because I arrived so late end up charging me the late fee. On top of that she assigned me a top bed that was also being used by the person using the lower bed. Not only was the staff unsympathetic with my travel situation, she told me I have been assigned the bed and I won't get a new one or a clean unused bed. There are no hooks to hang towels or jackets. I would have given this place a higher score because I do think the facilities and everything deserve it, but my experience with the night staff and stuffy room bump the experience down.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming, always helpful with anything you ask. The various open spaces and garden are perfect for a morning coffee or an evening chill. The café serves cappuccinos and cold beers, what's not to like.

No complaints just a tip to replace or descale the shower heads. Roadworks outside the building and the entire street. Was just bad timing for the booking really nothing could be done about that.

It's modern and clean. USB-A chargers above the bed. It looks like a pretty cafe unless you walk further inside. The beds are incredible - warm and soft

It's too expensive for the hostel. No towels included. The locker didn't get locked by my lock by its construction - so my stuff was accessible to anyone basically

The beautiful view of the river from the big window and the light that it brought into the space! The communal area was nice, too. The beds and sheets are white which makes it feel more clean and bright in the rooms.

There are no curtains on the beds! The lockers are too small to fit your whole bag - you can only fit your essentials in them. You can buy a lock for six euros but it doesn’t even lock up all your stuff…🤦🏾‍♀️ There was also a huge window with a very thin curtain in my dorm so it got very light in the room quite early in the morning.

Staff are friendly and so helpful. Good location and the hostel is clean. Good job keep it up.

The communal area are closed to rooms, feels like you have to be super quite to avoid waking other guests ! The small garden , what would be great for to spend time in evenings , shuts at 9 pm

The common areas are where they shine. So comfortable with lots of spaces to be alone but also helped to foster community without being forced. The place was so clean and you could tell everyone who worked there cared about keeping the place comfortable and accessible. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the location was very central to lots of great spots.

The app for the laundry was a little confusing; needed hooks or shelves in the en-suite bathroom.

I was in the lady's room, and I like the fact that there is a hairdryer, hair straightener and curler 😃 Some polish nails and other cosmetics 😃

A hip sort of hostel, cafe towards the front, chill out spaces and a kitchen

I arrived at 3pm (1 hour before official check in) after a full day of travel and hadn’t eaten, asked if I could leave my bags somewhere so I could go grab some food before check in and the staff member was not accomodating, and hesitated when I asked. When I was taken back when the staff member hesitated to briefly store my luggage they attempted to look somewhere unsuccessfully, this made me feel uncomfortable like I was being a nuisance so told the staff member not to worry (although I was pissed because I was hangry, and luggage storage should be a requirement especially when check in time is already so late at 4pm.) I was then sitting on a couch behind the reception facing the opposite direction, only to hear people checking in at 3:40pm. Staff members can clearly see me sitting with my luggage, waiting to check in but failed to approach to let me know I could now check in (this is general courtesy). Upon walking to my room I walked past a WHOLE WALL of STORAGE LOCKERS?! So that would time, there were in fact lockers for luggage storage that the staff members failed to offer me so I could simply go grab some food for 20 minutes after a day of travel and not having yet eaten food. I was given a top bunk bed, and while I do like top bunks there was over a foot worth of a gab between the wall and the bed, with no bed railing. Yes, I’m not 3 and probably won’t wall out of the bed but still made me uncomfortable (why were the bunk beds just not placed against the wall?) we may be adults staying in these bunk beds, however I’m sure 99.9% of us are not used to sleeping in bunk beds and more often larger beds where we can roll, so regardless this is still an issue The was a tiny little ledge on the top bunk to place maybe a phone and water bottle with a lamp and usb outlet, however: 1. Mine was broken and dangling from the wall (this means I literally had no where on the top bunk to put any belongings in addition to being over a foot away from the wall), and 2.

Location Cleanliness Staff Value of Money

The hostel is cozy, nice common area and loved the small outdoor area where to chill out a bit. We’ve stayed in the twin’s cabin: spartan but functional, towels and bathrobes included. I would choose this accommodation again, great balance between shared spaces and privacy while you sleep. The position is a big pro: in the city center, close to the metro. The staff is kind, friendly and helpful. Minor inconvenience with the lights in the room, fixed in 5 minutes.

Few bathrooms for the hostel's capacity (4 in total) even if they were kept clean by the staff, they were too busy at some hours.

The space is very modern and cool, there is a nice café in the front and the staff we spoke to were friendly. There was a nice little swap corner, unfortunately I didn't find anything that I wanted/fit me but the idea is cool

Our room was cute but there were no windows to the outdoors, only some windows that looked onto the common area which isn't great for privacy or for air ventilation which I am a big fan of. Also, the price was a little high but I know that Amsterdam is not a cheap destination so it might be within reason for the city

Location and concept were nice as well as the bar and common areas, but expected a more traditional place, the fact it was more hostel like, wasn't what we were looking for, but I booked a bit in a hurry I guess :)

There is no locked storage.

Loved the offerings in the shared space. The kitchen was well equiped and the projector was being put to good use each night too.

For the majority of our stay the bathroom had no paper towels, soap, shampoo or conditioner. The top bunk beds had no where to keep belongings, such as a book or waterbottle. Would be great to get a board put in between the bed and the wall so that nothing falls down.
