Elegant little hotel in a uniquely Athens urban setting: gritty and cool at the same time. Beautiful room with trompe l'oeil high ceilings, big bathrooms and comfy beds. Walking distance to some great restaurants and bars, and easy access to all of the tourist faves. Lovely little breakfast on offer. The staff are super-helpful and very friendly.

Beautifully restored historical home in a great location. The room was so pretty and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. All the staff were friendly and helpful. A special thank you to Maria at the front desk for being so kind and lovely. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use the sauna/spa facilities.

The perfect stay. I have stayed at various luxury hotels across Athens and this is my new quiet, understated favourite.

Location, amenities, staff

Beautiful room, especially the bathroom and the terrace with the view of Acropolis. The staff is also amazingly kind. Super good restaurant around the corner. Modern Greek.

It’s all perfect

Very well located. The room had a great view. The staff were very friendly. The terrace was an exceptional place to be - breakfast and after dinner drinks on the terrace with views of the Acropolis is a treat. Restaurant suggestions were well judged.

The stairs could be off-putting for some - there is no elevator so please note this if you have mobility issues.
Breakfast starting at 730am was a little disappointing on day of checkout for early flight - they did provide a coffee and pastry. The poor staff spilt orange juice all over our breakfast tray while climbing the stairs - I felt for the poor girl. Breakfast on the terrace is great but awfully difficult for the staff! This is very much a boutique hotel without the amenities of a large 5-star hotel. We liked that but could be a negative for others.

The public areas are beautiful, we had a superb room, with a simply stunning outdoor terrace backing onto a historic Byzantine church. The staff kindly offered to bring breakfast to our room and we enjoyed it on the terrace.

Very comfortable stay in a beautifully renovated historic building. Exceptionally clean room and staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hot selection and individual breakfast plates were good, however not a lot of bread on offer the first couple of days. We didn’t use the wellness area but were shown it when we arrived. The hotel is very walkable to all the main sights of Athens and is close to many bars and restaurants.

I don’t always feel like making small talk with reception staff every time you pass; but can’t fault their friendly attitude. Our room and terrace were lovely although not much space around the bed (there was a seating area though). No-one used the lounge when we were there so there was no atmosphere when we stayed for a drink a couple of times. I would create a proper bar there and do away with the need for someone to open the main door for guests by installing a code or key card entry system. I think part of what you pay for at Monument is its small size, personal service and feeling of exclusivity. However I wouldn’t want to pay as much as we did to stay there again.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the hotel! From the warm and welcoming greeting from the staff to the thoughtful recommendations for places to visit and other helpful suggestions, we felt truly cared for. Additionally, the room was incredibly luxurious, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, definitely one of the best we've ever slept on!

Beautiful and spotless. Easy to walk in central Athens. Modern but classy. Very friendly, made us a quick breakfast to go when we had to leave before it was to be served.

Some might have trouble with stairs. They did deliver the luggage

perfect location to all central markets, restaurant and bars, shopping streets and monuments. The hotel building has been beautifully restored and the description on the hotel website accurately describes reality.

The lack of an elevator is the result of the strict restauration regulations, so there is nothing to complain about, however, bear in mind it takes 50 steep stairs to get to the second floor.

Great location. On arrival, it doesnt look like the most central location but in the light of day, we realized how close we were to everything! Very nice staff! Nice amenities and wellness offerings.

The staff was very kind, helpful and polite. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, and the location is great and very close to everything.
Special note for the breakfast - everything was absolutely delicious and the service was perfect. Would definitely visit this hotel again.

The only possible downside I can think of is the lack of an elevator due to the limitations of the building, but it's important to note that personally for us it made no difference.

There a shame there isn’t a lift or dummy waiter to help take up the luggage and room service. I felt guilty about the staff lugging up our things.

Lovely building thoughtfully converted into stylish boutique hotel. Comfortable bedroom & bathroom, wonderful think fluffy towels. Staff were exceptional - all very friendly, delightful people, knowledgeable & thoughtful. Fabulous location in Psyrri - characterful area, & everything we wanted to see was a short walk away plus lots of lovely bars & restaurants on your doorstep in the neighbourhood

Pillows too soft. And the mattress protector was a waterproof layer immediately under the sheet so I woke up sweaty every day. This was a shame because everything else was SO good
