Hotel Villa Athena, Agrigento

When you wake up in the morning and see a massive Greek Temple built approximately 2600 years ago in immaculate condition, how could there be anything wrong with this hotel or its location. The hotel is phenomena in its own right and have first class and friendly staff who are well trained and carry out their duties flawlessly. There is no question that their first priority is to make a memorable visit for their clients. The accomplish that with great ease. I was recommended Villa Athena by an Italian friend living in Canada and it met her comments. We have already recommended the Villa to our friends.

The room was very spacious with top--notch bedding and pillows, and had a large terrace overlooking the pool area and the Temple of Concordia. The hotel has a private entrance to the Valley of the Temples. It's also very easy to find and probably the best location in the area, with a 5-star restaurant and wellness spa on site.

The Villa Athena is more than a 5 Star Hotel. It is a 5-Star Plus Experience!! From the moment you enter the beautiful grounds, meet the gracious professional staff and experience the incredible views of the temples, you know you have chosen the most amazing hotel in all of Agrigento. The rooms are luxurious, have spacious bathrooms and fine quality bedding and toiletries. The views of the temple from the Terrace are stunning.!! We enjoyed our fine dining experiences for dinners and breakfasts. Our waiters, Antonio and Alex were professional and well trained. They were very efficient, pleasant and made sure our dining experiences were perfect. We purchased the tickets to see the Temples at the hotel Reception desk and it was an easy walk along the private path to the site. Because we chose the Villa Athena, our visit to the Valley of the Temples was the hi-light of our 3 weeks in Sicily. We highly recommend this exceptional accommodation.

Excellent location for the Valley of Temples and just a short drive to the hilltop city of Agrigento. Room was well appointed with a lot of extras like robes and slippers. You just can’t beat the view of the temples while sipping a glass of wine in the afternoon.

The room was stuffy - had to open ALL of the windows to get air flow and cool it down as only heat was on for the winter months. Not a problem until the guests next door sat outside and smoked so then we had to close the windows. No ramp to lower level where our room was - steps only. Would have been nice to know ahead of time we should have dressed up for dinner.

The location is brilliant and beautiful. The resort could not be more comfortable or welcoming from the gift of pastries in our room to the lovely linens and towels. The staff were excellent. The private terrace outside the room was the best.

Wonderful small hotel overlooking the Greek Temple ruins. Restaurant is also lovely and had delicious food. Breakfast was included with our room selection and was lovely - ordered off the menu as off season so no buffet. Beautiful serene setting with olive and almond trees planted all around.

Incredible place! Location and scenery is beautiful, staff is kind and helpful, all facilities are top tier. We had the best massage we ever had at the spa - Chiara and Cinzia were amazing.

Amazing location and gorgeous room. Cinzia at reception was lovely and beyond helpful (she's a fabulous asset to the hotel) and a wonderfully courteous gentleman helped me with my bags and delivered the hotel gift of chocolates to the door of the room. Highly highly recommended.

We loved our stay here. The location is fabulous, right next to the temples with a private entrance for visiting. Our room had a huge balcony overlooking the Temple of Concordia - a wonderful space for relaxing. The temple is illuminated at night and it was amazing being able to sit and look over the archeological park. The hotel itself is lovely, large rooms, good customer service, nice food. Plenty of parking. We had a very relaxing stay and would stay here again.

I loved the private entrance to valley of the Temples. The property and staff were excellent.

What an amazing location - we absolutely loved it here. We had a garden room with a lovely outside space. It was great to be in the park for the Valley of the Temples. The food in the restaurant was fantastic - we had dinner there as well as breakfast - the staff were all very friendly too.

Exceptional stay! I wish I could have stayed for a month. I didn't wanna leave. The best hotel experience I've ever had. This is a true 5 star resort. The place is like from a storybook with a private access to the valley of temples. Spa and restaurant both amazing to experience as well. The staff was incredibly kind and accomodating to every request. I would go back in a heartbeat. Absolutely worth it not only for the VIP views of temples but the experience, food, staff, decor, location, and ambiance. All impeccable.

We have dreamed of Seeing the Concordia Temple and splurged on. Temple view room. It was worth every penny! Dinner in the restaurant was the best we had on our 16 day trip. The staff was super friendly and spoke some English. This was the highlight luxury hotel of our trip!

Can't beat the view with private access to temples. We loved the suite and the grounds. Short stay so didn't use the pool but looked lovely

The restaurant. Staff was not very welcoming and friendly. We were placed at a table next to the fish car so we asked to be placed somewhere else because of the smell. Even though there were better tables available we were placed at a table with a view directly into the pantry/staff area with the staff walking past our table continuously. Not very relaxing and didn't like the vibe of the restaurant. Staff came across quite stressed

Unbeatable location! Beautiful hotel with luxury comfort

Luxury hotel in a unique location in the Valley of the temples, to which the hotel has its own private access. Every aspect of the hotel was first-class with great attention to detail. Every member of staff was most welcoming and highly professional in their work, as you would expect. The food, wine and service in the Terrazzo degli dei restaurant was also of the highest standard. My room, 104, had a fabulous view of the Temple of Concordia.

The venue has a private access to Valle dei Templi leading through the magnificent area of olive trees and green hills. Room and bathroom was well equipped (Dyson hair dryer, Ortigia cosmetics). Staff is wonderful. We had a lovely time.

The location of this hotel was excellent. The view of the Temples from their bar is the highlight. The rooms are spacious and the service is expected of a 5 star hotel. Parking is free at the property. It's only 5-10 mins away from the town where you get a lot of food options. The style of this hotel is more classic and traditional.

The location is great for visiting the temples. Room was cozy with a terrace. The breakfast was great with fresh options. We also had dinner there and it was good.

The view from my window of an ancient Greek temple. Kind of like sleeping at the Acropolis but when we went out to look in the morning, there was no one else around. Just us and the view and a stray cat.

The property is beautiful, and it’s such a unique and special location within the archeological park! The view of the temple lit up at night from our room was stunning. There’s ample parking on site, and the hotel sells park tickets and has its own private entrance to the park, which is a nice perk. The breakfast was also very impressive. The room was very comfortable. It was not pool season at the time of our visit, but the pool looked beautiful and also had amazing views of the Temple of Concordia, so would be really great in the summer. I would highly recommend staying here!

The hotel was superb in a wonderful location with helpful staff and an excellent restaurant. I would highly recommend staying here to my family, friends and colleagues and friends when they visit the Valley of the Temples.

Location, location, location. My wife and I could see the Concordia Temple from our suite. The Villa Athena Resort has a private entrance to the Valley of the Temples. Hotel is excellent.

We had a very comfortable room with a small terrace and a view over one of the Temples. The restaurant was excellent both for food and drinks (high quality wines). The staff was very friendly and helpful, always ready to provide useful travel tips.

Breakfast was delicious with fresh orange juice & a generous selection of pastries each morning, a menu that was presented to you and also available to download. Again a great variety—eggs prepared numerous ways, cold cuts, fresh cheeses, smoked salmon, smoked swordfish. The wait staff was very nice, they seemed tired and the service could have been more orderly—such as ask what we would like to drink and serve beverages first, then deliver pastries, fresh flowers on the table—lovely but they should have been changed more often. Just details. Took a cooking class—very enjoyable. Worthwhile.

Shower tile should be scrubbed. Room needed to be renovated because it was outdated especially for a five star.
