Dandy Hotel, Taipei

Dandy Hotels checks all the boxes for an exceptional hotel for its price point, e.g. good location, nearby MRT station and many eatries, clean and spacious room. I especially appreciate the warm service from all the staff. I'll definitely choose Dandy Hotel again when I'm back in Taipei.

The location was great near Zhongshan Station. Kim at the front desk was incredibly helpful. All the staff were great. Vlaue for money was also a standout.

There were a lot of elements of surprise staying here. Breakfast variation was not a lot but adequate, and they change it up everyday. The late night snacks sometimes appears which comes as a pleasant surprise. Staff are friendly and willing to help. Even got a birthday cake surprise on my birthday in a form of birthday cake. There's toys available which my kid enjoyed too

Wished it was even nearer to zhongshan station than it already is. To be fair it was about 5-10 mins walk but My kid was a bit tired

Staff is topnotch. Very kind and helpful. Location is very accessible. Close to the main station and close to shops, it even has a 711 and bars on the same road. There are also free snacks and noodles on the evening.

First time staying in this branch, all the front desk staffs are extremely friendly and welcoming, especially Kim, Caroline & Amanda. They gave me clear directions to some of the places I intended to visit. The room is spacious with an extra large bed and street view balcony. Breakfast spread is reasonable with good variety and the staffs are very friendly too. The hotel is thoughtful in providing afternoon tea snacks & instant noodles for supper. We had a great 4D3N stay here. Highly Recommended!

The staff, Caroline and Amanda, helped us find good restaurants nearby. The airport pickup fare is reasonable. It was an enjoyable experience staying at the Dandy Hotel.

The rotating breakfast buffet was excellent, with optionally across Asian and Western breakfasts and with variety day to day. While we didn’t take advantage of the opportunity, the coffee and snack bar throughout the afternoon and the late night ramen were superb offerings that makes any guest feel like they’re at home. Lastly, the people were great and the front desk staff was beyond accommodating—we took an overnight trip to Taichung and they were able to store our luggage for the night. Thank you, Dandy Hotel!

I loved everything about staying at this hotel. The location is extremely convenient, centrally located and close to the ningxia night market and to many restaurants and shops. My room was spacious, soundproof, extremely clean with a large bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was rich in variety with both Asian and western offer, their coffee machine makes a nice espresso (which is not to underestimate!) and I liked the nice touch of the little cups with yogurt and coffee jelly. They do offer some valuable complimentary services like cup noodles past 9 pm and few others which I did not have a chance to use. However what I found most outstanding was the cordiality, dedication, kindness and proactivity of their staff, especially Kim who was fabulous with me. I have always known Taiwanese people to be the kindest, hospitable and caring people you can possibly meet and Kim is the quintessential of such character. She not only gave me lots of tips, advice and suggestion for my overnight stay in Taipei, she also helped me with tips for my next stops in Taiwan and followed up to see that I made it to the train station. She really made my stay even more enjoyable and yes I recommend this hotel 100%

We had room with the balcony and it was spacious and very clean. Hotel provides comfortable experience in the Taipei central district. Breakfast buffet is different every day and each dish is very tasty. Afternoon tea and night soup is thoughtful addition. But what makes this place stand out (in my opinion) - is staff! everybody is professional, super friendly and helpful! Want to thank Harry and Kim who provided 11 out of 10 service! I know where we will stay when next time in Taipei

Staff was fabulous and very helpful. Breakfast was excelent; lots of variety. Location was perfect for the metro and for walking.

There was only one place for one suitcase. Everything else had to go on the floor, which made things a bit dangerous for stepping over things.

Most staffs are friendly and eager to help. Location is excellent, close to shopping, restaurants, and subways. We booked the largest room so we can have luggage open. Breakfast changes daily if you like Chinese cuisine.

1.bath towels though clean can be refreshed. 2.the street underground sewage right outside of front door smells. It’s government responsibility I suppose.

Such welcoming staff, making the guest feel immediately relaxed and at home! Although the hotel is in a lively area with restaurants and bars just a few steps away, our rooms were quiet and restful (although a second chair would have been a bonus). The hotel is quite small so we did not expect the expansive breakfast of an international chain hotel. But there was amazing variety and every day many of the dishes were changed. All were delicious (yes I tried a little of everything). An exceptional effort! This is truly an outstanding hotel with wonderful staff!

More plugs for charging devices would improve the amenity of rooms.

We recently stayed at The Dandy Hotel in Taipei and we were really impressed! Despite being a 3-star hotel, the service was definitely at a 4-star level. The staff went above and beyond – they even gave us a courtesy call for checkout time without us asking, and were super flexible with storing our bags before and after our stay. The room itself was a pleasant surprise. It was much bigger than what you typically get in Taipei, and spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfortable and we slept great – it was nice and quiet too. The bathroom was a highlight with amazing shower pressure and lovely lemongrass-scented toiletries. Just a heads up though – the shower is over the bath, which was quite narrow. There's a handrail to help you get in and out, but it might be tricky for older travelers. One thing I loved was being able to open the window for fresh air, though don't expect any views. The location was really convenient, just a short walk to the station. Breakfast was pretty average overall, but they did have some nice cakes. Oh, and if you're looking for last-minute gifts, they have some cute items like soaps and keyrings at reception – really came in handy for me! The only real downside was the breakfast not being anything special, but honestly, everything else made up for it. The fantastic service, clean and comfortable room, and convenient location make this place a gem. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Taipei!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. They were polite and responded to our queries. The location was just around the corner from the main shops. The bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were really clean. We got a free upgrade to a spacious room with a balcony, which we really appreciated.

Great location, close to Zhongshan MRT, plethora of food and drink choices and countless of shops. Walking distance to the famous night market. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to help us with our inquiries. The washing machine and dryer facility is a plus. They change the breakfast menu everyday so we didn’t feel sick of it even though we stayed there for nearly a week. The facilities and room at every clean.

Downside: The room is a bit too small for my expectation. When we opened our suitcases, there isn’t any place to walk. The view was pretty much the wall of next door building.

The staff was amazing! They were so excited to help me plan my day visiting the nearby national park! And the location is great! Very walkable to so much food and shopping!

Amazing location in the heart of Zhongshan area. Great hospitality and attentive staff, large bright balcony rooms, good breakfast.

Not all rooms have views out the window, we had originally booked the business room but it was smaller and the windows open into the adjacent building wall. We had then asked to switch to the balcony room and the staff were very attentive and helpful in that transition.

The best part was the breakfast! So much variety between eastern/western options and each day was different and delicious. We were the first ones to breakfast every morning lol.

Just 5-10 min walk from either Zhongshan metro or Taipei main station. Easy to locate. Very friendly and helpful staff. Their hospitality is exceptional. Room is big, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is superb. Hotel provides generous snacks and supper too. Very grateful to the hotel for providing free laundry especially during the hot summer. Felt relax, comfortable and just like being at home during the entire stay. Special thanks to Kim from the front desk for all the recommendations in Taipei.

Soundproofing is not so good. Air condition temperature not easy to control.

Many freebies included with the room from the buffet breakfast to the laundry and dryer to snacks all day long including cup noodles for late nights. Weighing scale at the lobby for luggages and super attention to detail as they surprised one of my guest with a birthday cake as they noted his birthday during check in. Extremely happy with everything.

Room had a chlorine smell but that's only proof of the extensive cleaning of the room.

- The ladies at the front are very nice and sweet. They helped us with many things, ex. calling us when the pick-up shuttle driver could not find us at the airport, playing with our son, bringing us towel and baby stuffs when they realised we have little kid staying with us, booking a shuttle to the airport, offering us water and snacks during our stay, and carried our bags to the shuttle van after we checked out and etc. How sweet they are!! - The hotel also surprised my mother with a birthday cake on her birthday!!! - The hotel provides bottles of water, tea., cofffee, and snacks for the guests every afternoon. And if you are hungry at late night, they have instant noodle cups for you at the front. Wowww!!! - Breakfast was also very good for us as we are Asian, so we quite love the eastern style breakfast here, for example, boiled rice with 3-4 stir-fried dishes. the hotel also changed the menu of the stir fried-dishes every morning, so the breakfast was not boring for us (who had stayed here for 4 nights) at all. The desserts, ex, cakes and cream roll, are also in good quality as if we are eating at some cafe. By the way, dont expect American Breakfast, its all about Asian style food with a few western style food, i.e., some breads and salad, but we are happy anyway. The 2 ladies at the bf restaurants are very nice too. They took good care of the guests during bf and loved playing with our son :D - The location is great!! Few mins walk to Shinkong Mitsugoshi Nanxi, Eslite Spectrum Nanxi, Zhongshan MTR. Around the hotel are restaurants, 7-11, Bakery cafe. - Travellers can also use Taiwan Lucky Land-accommodation voucher of 5000NTD here too.

- No chage of glasses in the bathroom during our 4-night stay. - we used some coffee cups and left them on the table since our 1st night, but no change of the cup until the last night that the new cups were provided. - The air condition is quite difficult to be adjusted. You need to stand right in front of the air condition and carefully use a remote control to change the temp. You should not stand somewhere else, otherwise the temp will not be changed. Besides, you should be sure that there is a sound of the air con working (very quite) because the remote control may still show that the air con is working, everthough it is actually on turn off mode.
