Characterful building, lovely staff

Hotel Windsor is a very personal and familiar place to stay and with great style and comfort. It is a great location, close to tram stop to/from airport, SNCF station, seafront and main part of the city. The streets around are lively but remain quiet and away from the main tourist areas. The rooms overlooking the garden have a nice balcony with a view of the "jungle". Rooms are spacious and well presented. First stayed around 10 years ago and nice to be back.

Main room and bathroom are nicely set out. Some aspects need a refresh such as the bedside cabinets and some decoration in the toilet, which is perfectly functional but rather basic.

The room size, the bed was great. Incredibly clean, all of the staff were lovely. We also booked a massage in the hotel. One of the best I have ever had. Really easy to get to the beach & restaurants. Breakfast was really good especially for solo travellers as they don’t clear your table away if you let them know where you are sitting.

This is being really picky but the bath tub has digs in it not sure how they could have been made. The other issue is sound proofing. My friend had the room above me I could hear her toilet flushing. I also heard the couple next door having sex and then him vomiting a lot.

the garden was not as pictured, not so clean and smaller - the pool is disconnected and you can barely see it you need to book all spa elements in advance (keep this in mind while you're booking to plan ahead) Room was clean and nice but the decoration is nothing like the pictures- and the view was in the end of the garden, so i barely could see it from my room.

The Breakfast was not really worth the money. I would have whisked about more fruits and variety.

We liked the emphasis on art and the garden. Location was excellent as well. Breakfast was handled well and the seating flexibility using the garden was a huge plus.

We booked a small room and that is what we got.

The hotel is very stylish, the pool is perfect for an afternoon swim, the garden really feels like jungle, the breakfast is good.

There was no electricity when the light was switched off. Made harder to charger our phones.

Loved the quirky style of the hotel and the staff were exceptionally friendly. It was really easy to walk to main areas like the promenade, the old town and the train station. I had a quiet afternoon one day and the garden was a lovely setting to sit with a book and a glass of wine.

The bathroom was very small so a little uncomfortably tight.

Everything was as we expected

through no fault of their own, it was a very noisy night with roadworks going on. I asked for the quietest room available and I believe the front of staff house switched me to a room farther from the work. It didn't eliminate the issue, but it did help, and furthermore I was given a discount on the night's stay, which was unexpected and appreciated. The hotel is a little bit spartan in some ways but it isn't like any other hotel I know of and I like its off-beat decor. The garden outside is magnificent. Breakfast is fine--try the lemon jam on your toast or baguette.

I had coffee outside in the lovely garden and it seems staff use a small area outside and directly below the terrace to have their breaks--it got quite loud but I could move back indoors and the front lobby is comfortable and roomy.

Location was excellent, very central but was also quiet.

Staff fabulous ! Couldn’t do enough, room was clean and well equipped. It was refreshing to stay in a hotel that wasn’t straight lines and smooth surfaces. The quirky art rooms ,age of the building and jungle gardens were fabulous !

Breakfast , needed a little shake up . Just to make it a bit different each day .

Room not cleaned one day. otherwise all fine.

The breakfast experience I would rate as poor, this was the only time that the staff were not helpful when asked for an extra plate was told you have one on your table & that’s it, i still don’t understand why you were only “ allowed one plate “ the quality of the juices was poor & the general selection was only average

I'd say there are hotels that are more luxurious, comfortable, value for money, but this hotel has real personality and charm and super friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and unique, the outside garden/terrace really really nice. I also found the area superb, just far enough away from the masses, close to the beach and lively bars and restaurants as well.

Like I said, I've stayed in rooms with better beds, toilets, showers, but few have as much character and style.

The room was lovely and it looked like it had been recently updated/renovated. It had mostly everything we needed.

The breakfast was ok. The scrambled eggs could have been cooked more. They were a little mushy. For $18 EU which is about $20-21 US $ I expected more. The chopped fruit looked like it came from a can vs fresh cut. The hotel should supply shampoo and conditioner for hair

A wonderful experience! This hotel was clean, great A/C, and great location. We were impressed by how clean the hotel room was. As Americans, we value a very cold room while sleeping and their A/C worked wonderfully! Our room was next to the elevator but we could not hear anyone from that or above us. Location-wise, everything is within walking distance.

The WIFI did not work well. Only one person in the room could be on It at a time for it to work.

Little bit tired in places.

The room was very clean and tidy. The location was perfect, only ten minute walk from the railway station and 10 minutes to the sea front. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby to the hotel.

Would have preferred a walk in shower, rather than an over the bath shower, for easier accessibility. Also, power points for charging phones and plugging in kettle were in awkward places, not easy to reach. Exiting the swimming pool was difficult due to the ladder being rather shaky, especially for an older person.

The location was brilliant. It was only a few minutes walk to the train station (Nice Ville)), the tram, the centre of nice and the beach. The hotel had a nice arty vibe and the staff were pleasant to deal with. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the street which was nice to sit out on. Room and kettle and fridge which were handy to have. We asked for rooms with balconies and got them.

The beds at the pool were constantly in the shade of the trees with birds sitting in the branches (primarily pigeons) overhead. There were only about 8 beds at the pool and there was no option to have a snack at the pool. The hotel did not serve food during the day. While I like the idea of individual artists designing the hotel rooms and each room being different, I would expect that in a four star hotel the rooms would be tastefully decorated. Our room was very nice. However, my daughter and her partner were given a room which was painted orange, had writing on the walls and wardrobe doors and had too many mirrors and a reflective ceiling. The room was simply horrible and I would have expected better.

Fabulous location, quiet area but very close to all Nice's highlights. Friendly staff, Jerome and colleagues made us very welcome. Magical terrace and pool/tropical garden.

A little small

Staff were excellent, hotel is beautiful and quirky. Very clean and AC worked well.

Room was a bit smaller than expected based on the photos and the cost, but it was clean, tidy and fun!

room furniture old and room lighting. there is a good space for luggage but no light in luggage closet or ceiling light that provides light so fishing for stuff out of luggage in the evening close to impossible.

The pool was nice as was the rainfall showerhead in the bathroom. The check in staff were also very pleasant. It was also convenient to have the mini-fridge, but a complimentary water would have been appreciated in the 30+ degree heat. The hotel was also conveniently located close to a tram stop in one direction and the beach in another. Also plenty of good food options in the vicinity.

There were no power ports anywhere near the bed. It would have also been nice to have a washcloth. Lastly, whenever anyone opened or closed their doors in the hallway the change in air pressure made my door audibly shake and rattle.

Fantastic hotel located centrally. Wonderful green area to relax by the pool and to eat breakfast and dinner. The restaurant was a real surprise - one of the best meals we had during our vacation. Good sized room and clean.

Nothing. A slightly later checkout would have been nice, however we were welcome to spend the afternoon in the pool area until we needed to leave for the airport.

The hotel is a short walk away from the Alsace-Lorraine tram station and from here you literally have access to majority of the attractions in Nice.

No complaints!

The hotel has a terrific location, very close to the seaside promenade and good restaurants and cafe in short-distances. The staff were friendly, has a large lobby and garden to hangout, and it was nice to have a pool, covered with big trees to cool off during the hot summer.

The facility, especially the room quality did not seem to be kept up. The bed was too soft and saggy, the curtain did not close fully so you had to wake up early. If you have a back problem, this is not a place for you. And the kettle didn't work, so needed exchange. Lastly, the front steps didn't have a ramp, so not elderly or handicap-friendly.

The hotel is very different, its jungle restaurant is really lovely. It's an understated hotel with a really relaxed vibe. The customer service is excellent. The location is perfect for the old town, the shops and bars and the beach.

The pool is a little disappointing it is beautiful and very clean but because of the restricted seating areas it is almost impossible to sit in the sun.
