Shower in the bathtub and uncomfortable lounge was the only downside to an otherwise excellent experience.

Need vents in the bathroom and the toilet. It gets hot in the toilet and the bathroom also has no ventilation/air flow so it’s dripping with water after a shower or bath. It’s not ideal.

Superb location and excellent hotel. the concierge team were so so helpful and the rooms are beautiful. Opposite the opera house you can be better placed to explore the stunning Bordeaux.

There was a little mix up on reception which was soon sorted, personally I would not expect plastic flowers in reception of a five star hotel ( I was at the Corinthian London the week before and their fresh flowers would put these to shame). On a Sunday the hotel pool does not open until after 9am which is disappointing. On arrival the entry to the car parking is tricky to work out and compared to some other hotels we stayed they sent in advance very explicit instructions which they may wish to consider. That said, the front house team were very helpful in sorting once we had arrived.

Paid extra to get a balcony. Big mistake. Very poorly designed and not easy to use. Do not recommend. The quality of some of the food is teribble

The room furniture was in need of updating. Chairs need to be reupholstered. The view of our Premium room was to an alley and the windows could not be opened.

The staff were truly excellent at every level: they were always pleasant, polite and eager to help. The location was also superb, and breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. And I liked the quietness of my room, and the bedside lights were good for reading. I loved the rooftop garden too. The hotel felt luxurious and always a treat to come back to.

Three things could have been better: the room was too dark when I needed to be able to clearly see, such as when packing my suitcase; an overhead light would have been useful. Also, the bath was difficult to get in and out of. This is important, because it was the only way to either shower or use the bath. And I had great difficulty with the air conditioning and gave up trying to use it, even though a kind staff member came and explained it to me. I just put on more warm clothing!

It’s wonderful old world charm, cleanliness, history, and perfect location. In addition, the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff were outstanding in all its sectors, from Reception to Concierge, Dining and Bar, to room services.

Location is perfect. Room needed paint refresh on walls. Staff very helpful.

Was not made aware that the rooftop bar was closed on Check-in. We noticed when leaving that there was a sign stating so,but it is not the thing you look at when arriving at checkin. Also could not access the spa to have a look, as there were people in the pool.

The hotel staff were warm and welcoming. The rooms were distinctive in their decor – very different from the uniformity of many modern hotels. We appreciated the generous gift of a handcrafted Easter egg in our room. We enjoyed a very pleasant dinner and breakfast. Service was swift and courteous.

The service was impeccable. The service at the orangerie could be slightly improved but the in room service was amazing. We had the best time. The spa was absolutely fantastic. The restaurants were amazing and the breakfast was gorgeous

Our room was great. We opted for the delux (i think that's what it is called with a separate salon and bath). Bed was very comfortable, shower was great. Personally I am not a fan of the decor - I think it's a little outdated and not really to my taste but like art, it's subjective so not a criticism.

Best hotel in Bordeaux. Excellent room, well appointed and clean. Excellent concierge staff and registration desk staff. Breakfast room was first class with good choices and friendly staff. Position was the best possible in Bordeaux. Restaurant bookings and advice from concierge staff, especially from a very elegant young woman who was first class, were all very helpful

Taxi access on arrival is difficult due to location and tramways. Otherwise could not find any faults, other than some confusion over the switching of the main bar from rooftop to inside the hotel.

Location. Design and layout. Superb Staff. Restaurant amazing.

I didn't like the fact that some rooms need a special lift to access, this lift is unique, small, and often shared with maintenance staff..

It was well located, in the heart of the old town, close to the main attractions. We were pampered in the hotel by very attentive and courteous staff. The restaurants in the hotel were among the best in town and the room was very comfortable. The interior decor and furnishings are also in good taste.

As our room was on the top floor, it was not possible to open any window in the room. I normally enjoy an open window to freshen the air in the room. Another snag was that the lavatory closet was not fitted with a small basin.

Brilliant location, friendly and efficient staff-on our last day they looked after our bags until 15.00, ordered a taxi to take us to the station and, impressively, loaded the bags and got us to check they were all there. Good breakfast, and delicious food in the Brasserie with the bonus of half price wine as it was Wednesday.

Housekeeping was a little slapdash, but quickly remedied with a phone call.

Parking was horrible. Hotel hard to get to.

Obviously you pay for what you get, but this hotel is by far the best in Bordeaux, stayed in a suite, staff there for your every need. Couldn’t ask for more. OUTSTANDING

Only issue was no really nice Bar near the restaurant. This would be good for guests and for the Business. There is space to do this.

The roof top bar is a complete rip off, charging €18 for regular bourboun or cognac, I believe the same prices in the original restaurant, much better value to be had elsewhere in town and more atmosphere. Hotel should consider dropping prices indoors to create a bit more atmosphere, I'm guessing it's empty because of the prices.

This hotel is a grand old dame in the heart of the old city. Ideal for walking about the historic section of the city, through narrow, winding, cobbled streets and past a myriad of outdoor cafes and buildings of prior glory. The hotel, still clothed in yesterday’s finery, is a bit faded and worn and offers plenty of character. Our room matched the rest of the hotel in decor and was small but comfortable. Bed and shower were great. A lot of variety in hot and cold dishes for breakfast but nothing out of the ordinary.
